Loving a faerie Queen is
Wild fire honey oak
Such a full time And getting fuller I'd like to pull the plug out of this bath And sit still If I can surrender And be a craftsman That sounds good. Time to meditate.
Sat with Rumi
Sat with this Rumi poem below today... It's changed my life,,,, right now, any way... Love is everything, love is King, love will always let you in love is sacred love is treasure love keeps changing like the weather Love goes on and lasts forever Love is always in you wether, you believe in it or not Love wants to give you all it's got Love wants to give you what it's not Time to go hug my Wife
XO YO, Rumi below.
Surrender:
Very little grows on jagged rock Be ground Be crumbled So wildflowers will come up Where you are You have been strong for too many years Try something different Surrender Rumi
Ordinary
Today was another practical day
Ordering life for the week ahead
Hanging curtains
Talking to the parents
How sweet ordinary things are
Helps when we're in the country
Watching Wasps mate
Birds nest
And feeling that attraction to you
The Spring rain is washing my mind
Dripping round the house like confetti
like a shower of leaves
Like shampoo time
I live with my true love
I make music
I live with kind people
On the land
Teaching learning growing.
I know I'm too lucky (almost)
I want everyone to reach their dreams
You, friend, who are most vulnerable now
Most lost in the desert of the city
All my efforts must be put to a world where we all get home.
All in this together
Embracing the beloved stranger.
So we can have a real party together bro
Setting up a container for living well
I set up a home studio today So fun To have a place to record songs professionally And then share them Just spent an hour trying to get one audio track in time with another Bewildering Tired This is the slow trudge of getting set up Getting the house in order as it were An ordered house is a joy to many So I'll go meditate, and get back to learning in the morning
@homeroom_6
I was on a call today where people really listen to each other
It creates a flow, clarity flows out from the heart I see that music is my medicine I see that being devoted to it brings medicine to heal me and others That practicing very diligently leads to depth that I can share I can help others on their path So simplify And just do the stuff that breaks you open.
Sunday
A day of rest A pilgrimage to her arms Putting things back in place Reading in bed Cooking simple food Dreaming of a new Jerusalem That is strangely like this
Life as a pilgrimage
I want to walk this life a s a pilgrimage To notice what is before me to be patient to enjoy it :) It's a miracle that we are here that there are trees and fingers feet and humans wandering around.
The souls will be done
At our wedding this past June the ceremony was Quaker inspired. We had spent time in Clearness committees (a Quaker practice originating in the 1660's to help people tune in to true self) and in dialogue with mentors. The centre of our ceremony was a time for us to speak from the heart amidst the silence. I realised that for me, tuning in to the truth in me was like listening to a voice, in my heart, and also outside of my self, like a personification of my intuition and wholeness. That is possible when supported by a practice (of stillness, of welcome and deep respect) and community, and much harder in more chaotic, unstable environments. I came across these practices reading the Quaker elder Parker Palmer. Palmer might have one central idea to the incredible work he and his non profit 'The Centre for courage and renewal' do in the world: That the soul (or true/deep self) is literally central to living a harmonious thriving life, as individuals and a society.
If integrity is living your word; living a life true to your self; your values, gifts and limitations. Then hearing your self, is a pre-requisite to a life of integrity. How do you hear your self? This is a challenging quest considering we are all programmed by society... Some people go hike in the wilderness to reconnect to that inner truth, some meditate, pray, contemplate, dance. What is it that tunes you in to that older deeper voice within and without you? There are some people who by speaking from their aliveness, speak to ours. Thats what art is right? Or really, any truth telling. Ghandi's definition of God, was truth... That ‘being true’, was living a good life. Christians say that God is love, that in kindness, compassion, presence and connection, we come in to harmony with the way of beauty.
I seem to be finding that the best work I can do (the best play, might be more accurate) is to listen to people, and ask honest open questions (my intuition seems to be the well for those questions) that help them tune in to their truth... Once we hear the truth, it seems to be a gravity pulling us on, and a peace giver: Now I can act, because I see clearly. When I see something like the Lords prayer in this way ‘Thy will be done’ means the will of my soul be done.
What gives you clarity? What brings you back to your self, and in to a deep connection with others? What might bring our society 'to it's senses' including a sense of what is good for we the people, and how we might get there?
For Geri and all health care workers
World upside down
Quarantine has turned the world upside down
Creative's and change makers I know are busier than ever
and many business folk are quieter than ever
as if the inner world needs to transform
so we can re-emerge in to a new outer world.
Eyes droop full belied
what wild devotion might make
All fall in Love now?

I’m wondering what kind of music is useful now?
What is the hunger in the world in terms of music? What comes up for me is; beauty, truth, stories, complexity (as in rich interweaving harmonies rhythms and images) and to speak to our primary yearnings: How to connect, how to transcend the violence of our times, how to have fun? And I’m just reflecting on how what comes in to us comes out of us: If I feel connected to my self and my community, and my place, then that will come out in the music etc
Music is transitioning from the album every three years mode, that the technology of physical Vinyl and CD’s lead to; to a freer way, where musicians release regular singles and EP’s digitally, keeping more consistent connection with their audience. What really meets the hunger in peoples hearts? I think that my audience still love albums; they (most of them) grew up listening to records, and seeing that the songs shine a light on each other; it’s enjoyable to listen to a collection AND it’s wonderful too that we can share more freely too: Releasing singles and EP’s regularly; I guess the ideal is to do both: To make beautiful albums that are more of a banquet to listen to, that people can get on Vinyl and sit and listen too as a whole; and to release more regular (perhaps lighter, fresher) music too. What are you hungry for? What way of receiving music speaks to you? L XO
