Anything else that might be helpful to know with my style.
If this helps you in any way PLEASE LIKE / REBLOG / COMMENT. If you need any more help, have questions, etc! Just ask and I will gladly give it to you. Willing to give tutorials, template ideas, etc. Remember that this is just my style of indie roleplaying at this moment of June 2021.
In this tutorial I’m going to assume the following things:
How to add a bot into a server
How to use tupper bot.
How to make channels and categories.
If you have any questions / need help on those things just send me an ask.
This is my style for 1x1 indie things. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SEND ME MORE QUESTIONS ON THIS AS I HAD FUN THINKING THIS ALL UP. DISCORD IS AMAZING AND I DO LOVE IT.
The maximum number of categories for a server is 50 and the maximum number of channels in total is 500
A single user can join up to 100 servers, and you can adjust which servers you want to receive notifications from. You can even give yourself a different nickname for each server you join
So this is what the landing page looks like. It is really SIMPLE and EASY. I set this up to be where we idle chitchat. So now, you need to know what a verse is otherwise this set up is going to be confusing.
The confusion is bc “Verse” is an abbreviation for “universe,” and “AU” is an abbreviation for “Alternate Universe.” The difference is mainly in that the former is usually applied to RP and the latter is usually applied to fanfic and fanart, but both words can be used for both. (credit here)
So now you know what a verse is. I number my threads simply because I want to be able to use them again and again so titling a thread just gets like annoying? Because that means you can’t use that channel again (Okay, you could if you wanted.).
Each one of my verses gets a few sections.
Headcanons - this is for anything in that verse that is important and ONLY applies to that verse.
Plotting - any conversations related to plotting for this verse.
So this is a multipara that has nothing to do with the 001 that was under verse: 1. This shows you the style of thread that you can do.
Say that you want to do a thread that is fast and easy but not apart of a verse? You have a section for none. This shows you another style of rp that you can do with graphics as well but the whole point is to show you have I do things.
Dyno bot is great for rock paper shoot. Flipping coins to tell what happens next between two options. I show you the shortcut that is used in my server as well.
So when I finish a thread in 001 of verse: 1. I adjust and just do a line break and move onto the next thread. This keeps the numbers of channels down. You can have as many threads as you want really but for me and my partners a few threads that we keep using over and over again as worked wonders.
So right now you might be staring at this and going “Okay, that is wonderful BUT I write more than one character in a single reply.” That is fine! We have an option for that as well.
I just make a bot for that and go from there. This is easier for me when doing multi para threads. Text you can easily just do each character separately.
⇝ body temperature, fidgeting, heart rate, character quirks
⤠ environmental descriptions
⇝ descriptions using the five senses, setting, character’s appearances
⤠ internal dialogue
⇝ emotional reaction to what was said, reflection of past experiences, connections to other characters/settings/actions
➵ I want to reiterate… descriptions using the five senses ; when in doubt, think of the five senses your character is experiencing and pick what best moves the story forward
I know I’m late to the party, but someone should totally do a Sons of Anarchy RP with me on Discord. I’ll bring all the moodboards, playlist, and exciting OOC chatting. (I’ll even take OC’s if you ask nicely!)

you’re dating one of my gang members, but i’m the boss and i know how to please you better.
i stole your car and the police isn’t doing anything so you decided to track me down yourself and you found me, but whatcha gonna do, i went through your stuff so i know all your secrets.
you’re a heavy criminal or something idek and we hooked up a while ago but fuck, i owe my drug dealer money and i really pissed him off bc that’s what i do and now i need you to help me otherwise i’m gonna be dead and you actually know what ur doing so.
we’re gang members but the rule is we’re not allowed to date people inside the gang, but there’s a lot of sexual tension between us and then all of a sudden we have to take care of something together bc the boss says so and if you kiss me i’m gonna fucking kill you, but pls do.
your dad is my biggest enemy in the crime world and you’re a straight-up rebel, so to piss him off you decide to sleep with me and wow, it was fucking amazing, but now your dad is out to kill me so what now.
you’re a criminal and even though i’m a pretty good person we’re still dating and then you get caught and end up in prison and everyone that you owe money/drugs/etc from now comes to attack me and it’s a few years later when you get out and come to see me only to find out that nothing’s the same. (either i became a criminal/dealer myself or a prostitute/stripper bc i needed the money or i changed my name, moved away and gave birth to a child that’s yours)
we’re two thieves who literally can’t stand each other bc we’re each others biggest competitors so we have a stealing war with each other to prove that i’m the best in what we do and it doesn’t stop at just stealing objects (girl/boyfriends, friends, jobs, name it!)
we’re lovers and we decided to rob a gas station together bc we needed the money and holy shit, we got a lot more cash than we expected, but oh shit turns out this business was actually really shady and now there’s a whole gang after us that’s trying to kill us to get their whitewashed money back.
we’re just normal people and we’ve been going out for a few months and it’s pretty clear to me that you’re keeping something from me but i can’t put my finger on it and all of a sudden i get kidnapped and it’s really fucking scary bc they look dangerous as fuck and they keep asking me the weirdest questions about you and wait what, it turns out you make drugs/sell guns/whitewash money/whatever ?!? and of course you come in and rescue me and i’m super relieved, but now i don’t know if i should be mad or turned on about it all.
i work for a cartel, not because i want to but because they’re gonna kill me if i don’t and i just got to the united states and they’re making me do all sorts of things (cutting coke, cleaning labs, ‘providing money’) and it’s really fucking awful, but then all of a sudden you notice me even though you’re (much) higher up and i don’t know why but you’re helping me to get higher up as well and before i know it we’re getting assignments together and you’re like really bad ass fuck i’m starting to like you.
Apparently a lot of people get dialogue punctuation wrong despite having an otherwise solid grasp of grammar, possibly because they’re used to writing essays rather than prose. I don’t wanna be the asshole who complains about writing errors and then doesn’t offer to help, so here are the basics summarized as simply as I could manage on my phone (“dialogue tag” just refers to phrases like “he said,” “she whispered,” “they asked”):
“For most dialogue, use a comma after the sentence and don’t capitalize the next word after the quotation mark,” she said.
“But what if you’re using a question mark rather than a period?” they asked.
“When using a dialogue tag, you never capitalize the word after the quotation mark unless it’s a proper noun!” she snapped.
“When breaking up a single sentence with a dialogue tag,” she said, “use commas.”
“This is a single sentence,” she said. “Now, this is a second stand-alone sentence, so there’s no comma after ‘she said.’”
“There’s no dialogue tag after this sentence, so end it with a period rather than a comma.” She frowned, suddenly concerned that the entire post was as unasked for as it was sanctimonious.
so I need a ‘you’re a person of high wealth/status and I legally married you at a courthouse the night before your wedding because you found out your fiancé is trying to dupe you and your family out of money/ruin your reputation as a revenge plot because of an old family rivalry and they’re not legally entitled to your assets if you’re already legally married to someone else and you agreed to pay me a high sum of money for this and I have a lot of debt so I didn’t pass up the deal but then your ex hits back at you in the media and we have to keep up the charade of being married and you agree to keep paying me money for it but oops I think I might be enjoying more than just the money and oops you’re starting to grow fond of me and this wasn’t part of the deal shit fuck’ plot please and thank you
Plot 164: The Trophy (based on a request by @ofpretenserp)
Muse A is the very definition of first class. They come from a wealthy background and a long line of successful business tycoons who have always known how to get ahead. Muse A is no exception. After graduating from a prestigious university, they took a seat on the board of their family’s company and quickly proved that their hire wasn’t just a case of nepotism. Though they had some critics when first getting started, Muse A took the company into a brand-new direction and managed to stay at the top for years. With a high profile career like that, Muse A has had a high profile social life. Their circle of friends is exclusive and highly sought after, and it’s quite hard to get a foot in the door with them.
Muse A met Muse B on a cross country flight when they were bumped up to first class and seated next to them. Though they hit it off almost instantly, when Muse B mentions that they’re unemployed and currently not even looking for a job, Muse A knows it’s going to be a problem. They really get along though, so once they land, they make plans to go on an actual date. The chemistry is there, definitely, but Muse A refuses to bring Muse B around any of their friends. In fact, their friends are under the impression that Muse A is still very much single. Muse B has never made a big deal about it, but when, after a year and a half of dating, they propose to Muse A, one of the stipulations is that they need to be introduced to people in their life if they’re going to be together forever.
Though reluctant, Muse A hosts a dinner party for their friends to meet Muse B. They hope that at this point, their friends can overlook the fact that Muse B doesn’t seem to have anything going for them other than their looks and accept them into their exclusive group.
Twist! One of Muse A’s friends recognize Muse B as the heir of an incredibly well known socialite that runs in a different circle than theirs. Muse B is worth more than Muse A is, and when Muse B finds out that Muse A was ashamed of them, drama ensues.
