joan ferguson in "whatever it takes"
Joan Ferguson changing her plea to guilty on the stand while staring Vera in the eye was lesbian sex.
Thinking about how "A child needs her mother," is THE MOST ROMANTIC thing Joan Ferguson could have said to Vera in that last moment, and I will die on this hill.
Sure, it's referring to Joan's own traumatic past involving her mother, and maybe Joan genuinely believes that, but it's way more.
After obsessing over, stalking, and tormenting Vera for years, there was almost nothing that she could say, even after saving her, that wouldn't seem threatening. I remember some people wanted some kind of verbal love confession or something, and amongst other things, Joan literally just had the revelation, "I'd rather not kill Vera," a couple episodes ago, so I'm not sure she's at the full emotional maturity level of verbalizing, "I love you."
BUT mostly, I think she knows it would be the WRONG THING TO SAY.
That is not the face of a woman who needs to hear, "I love you," from the woman whom she just found out had tried to kidnap her baby.
The thing is, I don't think the answer is necessarily what she says. I think it's what she does.
THAT'S the answer. Joan reaching for Vera's hand IS the "I love you," but in a way, so is what she says next. Again, Vera just almost broke her streak of being the only person not trying to kill Joan Ferguson because she found out Joan was trying to KIDNAP HER BABY (who I don't think Joan *really* cares that much about aside from her value to Vera and some hilariously sick claim in her mind having created the circumstances for her conception).
Again, NOT the face of someone who is going to be receptive to "I love you."
So Joan does possibly the only completely unselfish thing she's ever done regarding Vera. She lets her go. And instead of unburdening herself in this moment, which might be what she needs, she instead gives Vera what SHE needs. An assurance that Vera and Grace are safe from her.
And that's when Vera understands.
And Joan's gift is that Vera's allowed to let go as well and is at peace with Joan disappearing into the woods to begin her life as a gay cryptid among the already terrifying Australian wildlife. ROMANTIC AF.
Remember when Joan Ferguson used to slip little hate notes into Will Jackson's locker?
WINNIE THE POOH The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977)
JOAN FERGUSON Wentworth (2013-2021)
I like to think that Ferguson would pull Vera into the elevator - press the stop button and fuck her brains out, she would leave without a hair out of place of course but Vera would be left with flushed cheeks her skirt pushed up and her shirt open - panting.
The suffering written in the eyes of a tiny woman practically makes Joan groan internally with delight. Horror, not covered by anything, is reflected inside the very soul of Vera Bennett.Betrayal redeemed. She touched her almost at the very essence. And now watching it crumble borders on almost euphoria.Faith Bennett is not an unattractive woman. In many ways, it essentially embodies almost innocent perfection in its type of appearance. All her fragility that was already in plain sight was manifested and revealed more only when Vera herself was on the verge. Not all women look pretty when they cry, but not her. Joan Ferguson would be damned if she didn't admit it, even if it seeped into her mind for a split second.Because of her upbringing, Joan often found someone else's pain soothing for herself, even if she did not think about it seriously in early childhood, but with age it was fixed on a subconscious level in her as a person over time. This developed into physical arousal from one fact of achieving goals through the pain of others. And now, it was exactly the moment when this condition peaked. She could have sworn that she was overly emotional at this particular moment. The woman in front of her stirred up all of Joan's inner obsessive vices. The woman could not know about it, but when she overcame Vera's personal space, her eyes shone with a feverish light, which made Vera shrink even more under the onslaught, hunched over her shoulders. But make no mistake, it wasn't something exceptionally impulsive. This impulse was solely for the reason that every detail of Vera Benet's personality in a sense delighted Joan. Vera's past and present appeared before Joan as a one-off projection of every peak emotional state of this tiny blue-eyed doe. Everything was Vera Bennett. Admiration. Desire to please. Controversies. Breaking. Lust. Imitation. Denial. Hate. And all the complexity and versatility. And despite everything that fate had in store for her, she was still innocent and allowed herself to fall in love with this pathetic clown. The blood in Joan's veins was seething. She needed to soak it up. Touch the skin to feel the pain of this mouse on a physical level. She wanted to feel her muscles shudder in agony. Drink tears that will flow from the eyes. She wanted to take it, feel and absorb it, taking with her the strength with which this pain will break out of Vera Bennett.

Another spontaneous fanfic. Just wrote it, so please don't judge too harshly. The idea just popped into my head and I thought, "Why not?"

So. New chapter. They're small now, I know. But just wait. It's... How to say it. I planned this as a light piece before I drop the ✨book✨. Just wait.
Writer culture is basing your entire story & character backstories off just “how can I make this worse”
*stares at laptop and back at phone* Ummmm…I feel I’m being watched
my favourite thing about the madagascar movies is that no one's a sane fucking person
Finally, it's happening! I've registered. Now the process will speed up.
I present to you my first fanfiction. The main one is still in the works, but for now, I'll entertain you with something smaller.

the lesbian urge to get wifed by a evil sexy woman
HOMOEROTIC HORROR
‘Extreme seductiveness is at the boundary of horror’
Georges Bataille, from Story of the Eye
I have decided that Joan cutting out juice’s tongue and then gifting it to Vera is homoerotic horror. I mean, a tongue as a gift. Okay Joan. Go on, convince yourself you don’t want to eat her out. The homoerotic is also present in the way she retrieved the gift, as if the performance of cutting out the tongue was some kind of foreplay. I mean, she dances her hand around Juice’s clit tattoo whilst tying her up, then straddles her, all before telling Juice that she had ‘licked her last pussy’. I mean, the homo level is off the charts. This scene is heavily choreographed by Joan, and I think it’s clear that she has always gotten a lot of pleasure from careful planning. This is a dance of violence laced with eroticism.
Wentworth // 5.06 // Happy Birthday, Vera //
This isn't just a prelude, it's revenge, and I won't stop screaming about it. It was Juice who attacked Faith back then and is to blame for her getting infected.I might be a little crazy myself, but imagine for a second, in their situation, with their relationship, Joan presenting something like this. It's practically saying, 'I remember what she did to you, and she paid for it. I'm doing this for you too.'Not as a way to intimidate, but as an offering. Joan subconsciously really wanted to claim Faith for herself. And I'm sure Faith's anger could have arisen because when she realized what Joan had done, for a moment, it might have fascinated her. And by denying that part of herself that Joan wanted to cultivate in her from the very beginning. She redirected it into pure rage at this woman, not succumbing to her twisted ideas of care or anything else. But it affected her too, you can be sure of that.
