Kenzie smiled, “Really?” she said curious. “Maybe it’s because I’m new. But I’m doing a pretty kick ass job.” she said laughing.

“Honestly, at this point, nothing to worry about, even the most well researched papers only have it at a small percentage of people inherit any kind of issues with it.” Eva smiled, noticing the woman’s avoidance of her look, “As a Doctor i’m not supposed to divulge personal information, but I will say I have personal experience with exactly that, and i’ve read all the research, You seem like caring and conscientious parent and that’ll go a long way towards preventing anything like that developing in this little one.” She kept her tone light, poking her tongue out at the little one, “professional opinion, She’ll be fine.”
Kenzie nodded, “Oh ok well that’s good to hear.” she said softly. “Oh well that makes me feel better.” she said as she smiled a little bit. “Thank you, that means a lot really.” she said her smile widening. “You’ve really made me feel a lot better.” she said. “I’m still going to be really cautious though.” she laughed a little.

“No, she’s absolutely fine! they all grow at their own pace, but she’s within normal sizes.” She reassured, “We’ll keep track of it, and if at any point she’s looking like she’s staying smallish there’s things that can be done.”
Eva leaned back in her seat,
“Well that’s good, It shouldn’t be, research so far has only shown it to be an issue when there’s a strong genetic link, as in usually from both sides, but as she gets older its something that can definitely be looked in to as research is developing all the time.” She added, her tone soothing.
Kenzie nodded, “Ok I’ll keep an eye on her height and weight.” she said softly. as she nodded. She sighed a little at Eva’s response. “Well, uhm Avery’s father had a bit of a problem as well...” she said as she looked at the floor.
Kenzie had always been a bit ashamed of the fact that she’d fallen in love with a man just like her own father. She prayed constantly that her mistakes didn’t hurt her daughter in the long run.

“And here I was hoping for something exciting to do. I’m disappointed.” He popped a few peanuts in his mouth from the basket that sat on the bar. “Slow night?” He was sure there were many nights for her that dragged on. He didn’t know how she did these late nights and was the kind of mom that she was.
Kenzie smiled and laughed, “I mean if you wanna start kicking them out be my guest. Gets me out of here early.” she smiled and nodded, “It’s been a slow night yea.” she shrugged, “Mostly regulars.” She shrugged as she started putting away glasses.

“So what did you think?” He took his helmet off, extending a hand out to help Kenzie off the bike. “Did you like it? Or are we getting an Uber home?” A chuckle fell from his lips. He was referring to the ride as she had told him previously that she had never ridden before.
Kenzie smiled and took the helmet off laughing as she took Brad’s hand and hopped off the bike. She fixed her hair quickly, “Hell no that was awesome! There’s no way we’re taking an Uber back.” she said as she walked towards the bar.

“Fun little game we’ve got,” he laughed with a nod. “Which bar are you working at? I can imagine though, some people are cheap bastards.”
Kenzie smiled and laughed, “Indeed it is.” she smiled, “I work at On the Rocks. Oh yea they are. it sucks though because the people who are regulars tend to be the worst tippers.” she shrugged.

Poe shook his head at her apology as they both took a seat on the sofa. “It’s okay, I didn’t even notice,” he assured her. He was a bit of a neat freak when it came to his own things, and anyone who stepped foot in his apartment could see that, but he knew how hectic Mackenzie had it. Her living room could have been flooded with lava and he would have been understanding. “I can’t magine Avery makes cleaning up an easy feat.”
Kenzie smiled and laughed. “Well that’s good then.” she said as she sipped her beer. “Well no she doesn’t exactly make it easy. But thank you for understanding.” she smiled and put her feet on the table in front of her.

Brad: Perfect. I just got off of work so I'll just shower so I don't smell like garlic. How do you feel about motorcycles?
Kenzie: Ok sounds good! I've never been on one but always wanted to.

Kenzie: Yea that'd be great, I can be ready to go in like an hour if that's alright?

Brad: Ooo. This could be interesting.
Brad: If you can't find one we can do something with your kid instead.
Kenzie: It shouldn't be an issue. I think I know someone who'd be willing to take her

Brad: So again giving me nothing for blackmail. You're hopeless.
Kenzie: maybe we should go for a night out together then you can see me do something embarrassing in person.

Brad: I bet you pulled it off. Maybe people will think you are really fashion forward. You have a pic? I could tell you.
Kenzie: Maybe they thought I was making a statement. But no I don't have a photo unfortunately for you

“This will be a little bit cold, okay?” Eva told the little girl, pressing the end of the stethoscope firstly to her front, and then to her back, “That’s all perfectly normal, healthy heartbeat, clear sounding lungs, breathing sounds good as well.” Eva said, glancing at the woman with a smile, “She looks a good size for her age, her weight from what you put on the form is good.”
“So, just to confirm from the form, “There’s no family history of asthma, diabetes or any known genetic illnesses on yours or her father’s side?”
Kenzie smiled watching Avery flinch at the cold and giggled a little. She watched intently as the doctor spoke. “Ok that’s good to hear, I thought she was a little small but I’m glad to hear she’s a good size.” she smiled as she slipped Avery’s shirt back over her head before lifting her up.
“None of those and nothing that I know is genetic. Uhm..my father was an alcoholic though, I don’t know of that’s of any concern...” she said softly.
