âOh donât even joke about that. I have a reoccurring nightmare where I have to bail Robin out of jail for attempted murder,â Morgan chuckles, running a hand through her hair. Fallon might have been the member of their family with a criminal past, but Robin was the one who Morgan always suspected would be the subject of her own Netflix murder documentaryââ as the murderer, not the victim ââ if left alone with their father for more than five minutes.
Morganâs expression softened at Mackyâs words, green eyes mournful. âIâm sorry that he hurt you, Iâm sorry that it didnât work out between you and Levi.â But most of all she was sorry that she couldnât turn off her friends pain. âI get it, I do.â Maybe more than Macky even knew, maybe more than she even realised herself. âBut we canât choose the people who we love or they wouldnât call it falling in love in the first place.â
âI can see that clearly.â And if someone would be with Robin on that mission, it would be Mackenzie. She did not condone murder by any means but sometimes people really tested her patience. Good thing was she didnât have a violent streak, she usually preferred exchanging snarky words.Â
âIâve always known it was going to work out.â Yet she decided to give it a try, it was stupid and Macky promised herself that she would never do such a thing again. âTell me about it. If I could have any control over my feelings, I would never bore you with my problems like this.â She chuckled bitterly, shaking her head at herself. âI am sorry for being this mopey.âÂ
âIâm in the mood for some urban exploring, but not likeâŚ.for real,â Tierney said, giving the slightest widening of her eyes at the statement before a half-smile spread across her face, one corner of her lips turning up. âSo what do you say we sneak into that abandoned house and hot box it and feel like weâre doing something naughty?â she asked, lifting her hands to give the best attempt at spirit fingers she could do on the last word.Â
âDo I need to remind you I am not allowed to go anywhere near that abandoned house?â Mackenzie sighed. âLucas and I got arrested once. I am not even going to get into the actual horrors Iâve been through in that house.â She shuddered as she thought about that Halloween party. âTwo naked guys almost fell on me!â Mackenzie shook her head. âFind somewhere else, then I am in.â
Connor turned to the familiar voice and rolled his eyes as his smile grew. âI shouldâve thrown the bike out in front of the car and made them buy me a new one. Look at this shit!â He showed her the bike, though it was clear as day the sad shape it was in. âThat little asshole Damian down the block from me is harassing me again. I donât think Iâm above kicking a fifteen year olds ass anymore.â This war that had gone on between the kid and Connor had been going on for over a year, and no one, not even himself, fully understood it. How did a grown ass man have a child enemy? It was best not to question it. âAnyways⌠Yeah. Wonderful lucky day, Macky. Just perfect.â
âYou should have.â Although she doubted the driver would actually get a new one for Connor. âIsnât he like five?â He probably was older than five but anyone under eighteen was basically a toddler for Macky and she avoided toddler, babies and kids at any cost. âOh right.. Heâs fifteen.â Same difference. âI mean, if you canât kick his ass, just go to another fifteen year old and say Damian has been making shit about him. I am sure he will kick that little assholeâs ass.â Leave it to Macky to create chaos. âI can clearly see that. Letâs go and grab some coffee and sit. I am buying.â
Myra had volunteered to be outside of the radio station today to hand out some free pizza. It was a way to get more people to tune in. Every month, they gave away some new prize and some were bigger hits than others. It wasnât a flat screen TV but who didnât like pizza. Myra loved pizza which was why she had volunteered. At this point, she was 1 for 1 with those who came by. One of them, and one for her. She was on her third when a passerby came, mouth full so she used her hands to signal the open box.Â
âTheyâre a little cold but theyâre free. I know itâs early but honestly, you can never go wrong with pizza. Thereâs even one thatâs gluten free. Unless youâre lactose intolerant, then youâre fucked. Well, in this case. Remember to tune in to your local radio station.â
As paranoid as Macky was going to sound, it actually made perfect sense why sheâs always been wary of people and their offers. Once her roommate accidentally signed up for scientology, her best friend Lucas could be tricked into anything. Not to mention Macky spent the majority of her time pranking people, just a few days ago she tricked someone into eating glue by telling them it was white chocolate. âHow come they are free?â Mackenzie looked over the pizza, then turned to the other brunette. âWhatâs the catch here?â
nell: I really can't pass up an opportunity to drive my family insane
nell: You're the exact kind of person they'd be worried about me being friends with
nell: Just well
nell: And then he stopped responding because he needed to think
nell: Which is kind of a surprise when you really think about it since he usually never shuts up.
nell: I'm not forcing friendship, like I said she's really not that bad
nell: IDK dinner somewhere???
nell: Please don't make me write a scene based on a hypothetical double date with my ex-boyfriend and his former lover
macky: LMAO SEE!
macky: and now i am your best friend
macky: mission accomplished
macky: nope, he never shuts up. idk how is he an introvert
macky: eh, good or bad, you don't need to be friends with her.
macky: nell please your friend is pretentious af and he is dating a shallow actress, you can't just pick a random diner. it has to be somewhere fancy, at least fancy-ish.
macky: and just imagine rigs there .....................

Karma felt all too real that late evening. Connor wheeled back his broken bicycle after finding the kid in his block who stole it for the second time. The kid reminded him of himself whenever he was younger, causing trouble for the hell of it. Connor managed to convince the kid to give him the bicycle back, but of course he did only after slashing the tires. Nice touch, Connor thought to himself. He couldnât even be mad, considering he did the same kind of shit to others when he was that age. Though Connor should have felt rather victorious for getting his bicycle back, he pushed the wobbling bicycle along the street on his long walk home with an annoyed glance on his face and a cigarette hanging from his lips feeling defeated by the day. Whenever some headlights landed on him as he was about to cross the road on the cross walk, he jumped back right on time so the car wouldnât hit him. âWatch it!â he yelled out irritated and then added jokingly in a dry tone, âAt least have the decency to actually hit me next time.â
Hand rested against her cheek, Mackyâs gaze shifted between Connor and his bike. She was going to tease him about the bikeâs tires but, she was ready to land her joke but unfortunately she was interrupted by a car, possibly driven by a lunatic. âJesus!â She yelled as well, shaking her head in disapproval. Walking towards Connor slowly, she snorted a laugh. âToday is definitely your lucky day. You almost got hit by a car.â
âIf you wanted somebody to encourage your revenge fantasies then you should have spoken to Robin, Iâm the one thatâs going to talk you down from the edge.â Morgan reminded her, though the truth was there wasnât anything too big or small that Morgan wouldnât have done for her friend, within reason. If Macky wanted to explore her wildest revenge fantasies then Morgan would let her, but sheâd still be an angel on her shoulder, a guiding hand that stopped her from doing something she would later regret.
She sighs inwardly as Macky continues, hating the sound of Mackyâs voice cracking, hates that there isnât anything she can do to ease her friendâs pain. âYou still love him,â says Morgan, carefully, even if she doesnât understand it herself. âBut thatâs okay, itâs not as if youâre expected to shut off your feelings for him with a switch.â Unlike Levi, who appears to have done just that, if he ever had any real feelings for her in the first place.
âThen we both would end up in jail.â Mackenzie chuckled at the thought. Morgan was right though, she was the voice of reason and maybe thatâs why she chose to be there, perhaps subconsciously she wanted to be talked down, holding grudges came easily to Mackenzie but she would admit it was tiring sometimes. Â
âI do.â She admitted with a sigh, she didnât say this out loud too often, it was almost funny how she was okay with screaming her hatred but she struggled with the opposite. âAlthough that does not mean anything. I could love him forever but I can not be with him.â Loving someone and liking someone were different things, Macky learnt that in the hardest way. âIf you told me this, I would tell you the exact same thing and reassure you itâs okay but it just feels wrong, you know? Like.. I shouldnât have feelings for someone like him.â
