@maggietennison-blog
I don’t know what Christians you have spoken to, but a bisexual would surely go to Hell as well. Everyone deserves to be happy! I have said everything but that! God created marriage for a woman and man. I don’t care if a man is putting his, you know, in a another guy’s, you know what or if a woman is doing… Whatever with another woman. Really, I don’t. But when they marry under the Grace of my Lord; that’s when I have a problem with them. And please, do not compare race and sexuality. Those are complete opposites and should not identified as the same. A person is not born a homosexual. And stop putting words in my mouth! I never said I didn’t love homosexuals. I love everyone. Pedophiles, racists, adulterers, liars, thieves, killers. I hate the sin, not the sinner. And what does that even have to do with this conversation? Yes, I am plenty aware of what the Bible says. And the bible doesn’t say women should be virgins into they wed. It says men and women should. Lastly, how am I giving homosexuals a hard time? If I am, please bring me a pedophile or a rapist or killer or thief or a sinner, so I can pray with them. Is that what you wish?
Look, I really don't want to argue with you about this, I just think you should be more open minded about it.
N-No, no, not really. I don’t mean to rude, m’am, but you are unfortunately misguided by my choice of words; so let me explain. For starters, I am allowed to express my beliefs as I please. Just the way you’re telling me to ignore the homosexuals, you can ignore me. Secondly, it was rude on your part to assume or actually, for you to only state man on man marriage. When I speak of homosexuals, I do mean lesbians as well. Thirdly, before you try to tell what I say or do or believe is wrong, you might want to gather your thoughts first. Because if you’re trying to tell me I’m wrong for believing in what I do, then you’re no different than me telling you that homosexuality is wrong. And finally, the definition of the word ignorant is “Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated." Since this is a discussion on our beliefs -something that shouldn’t be taken as facts- to say I’m “uneducated" on my own beliefs is completely wrong on your part. Not to mention that it’s out of context as well.
Is there anything else you would like to say?
You know what? I do. I didn't mean that you're ignorant like that because surely you're not, you certainly know more about your religion than myself but this is basic. By gays I meant both men and women. Isn't it funny that Christians give those living hell but suddenly, if one is bisexual it's not that wrong anymore? It's the same thing. It's basic, it's human rights, you're going to stand there and tell me that two people don't deserve to be happy because of their orientation? Same thing as judging and hating someone because of their skin color. It does not make sense to me in my head, whatever God you believe him, I am pretty sure he never mentioned that you shouldn't love homosexuals the same because they don't marry a woman. If you put it that way, the Bible also says that if a man is caught cheating with a married woman, both the man and the way must die. That women should keep their virginity until they're married. We all have our beliefs, I try to respect yours but it's so hard for me to understand why it's considered a sin. I don't see Christians giving that much of a hard time to pedophiles and murderers when those should be the ones you despise that much.
Who said I don’t like the homosexuals? I hate the sin, not the sinner.
Same thing. And the fact you're so ignorant, you believe in a book that was written hundred years ago. That's stupid.
Yes? They’re mocking my Lord, of course I’m serious.
What difference does it make to you if a guy is having sex with another guy? Does it make your life better or possibly worse? You don't like gays? Don't look at them. Don't like gay marriage? Don't have it, simple as that.
I can’t believe this! Homosexual marriage became legal in yet another state! This… —This is disgusting! The Lord teaches us the complete opposite of this, people! Why on Earth are people constantly disobeying Him?
Are you actually serious right now?
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
Abraham swallowed the copious amount of food in his mouth and smiled up at Maggie. “So many questions!" he said with a slight laugh, “Okay, well, there isn’t that much to tell about me. I’ve lived in florence my whole life except for when I went away to school. I can’t say that I have a favorite dish, but I enjoy barbeque food the best, I think. My favorite non alcoholic drink would have to be lemonade. Uh, favorite places to go are the woods, hands down. I don’t hunt or anything, I just like the atmosphere. And If I had to choose, I think my favorite color was probably like a real dark green." Abe had never talked so much about himself in his life. As a modest guy, he much preferred to hear about others as talking about himself made him feel cocky and stuck up.
"I think I got everything," Abe laughed, “What about you? What are all your favorites?" Without even realizing, Abe had leaned towards Maggie, genuinely interested in whatever she was about to say. The fact that she had asked about his interests, made him even more invested in whatever she was in to. People kind of looked over Abe, and it was nice to feel like someone was looking for him instead of around him for once.
Maggie kept eating and listening to Abe with all her attention even if she wasn't looking at him; she wanted to know him, really know him, all the little and big things about him because she seemed so interesting and the fact he was so modest about himself, only made Maggie like him more.
"Uhm, well, I'm from New York and I love Italian food, everything with pasta in it. I love ice tea too, peach flavored and I love the woods too, no I don't hunt either.", she laughed, trying not to think about the hunters, the other type of hunters. "My favorite color would be purple maybe though I don't have much of a preference.", she shrugged and finished her meal, wiping her lips with a napkin. "So, should we stay here unpacking or should we go to the beach?", she asked, smiling at him.
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
Maggie’s lips on his made Abraham’s whole body feel as if some one had put him on pause. Even as Maggie walked away, He stood frozen in the room trying to process what had just happened. She had, in fact, kissed him. He wasn’t dreaming or imagining or anything, that really happened. It was funny, Abraham thought, how much you could want something without knowing it. If he wasn’t so stunned, he might have grabbed Maggie and kissed her again.
At her beckoning, Abe finally moved to the table to eat. “I hope you like it. It’s really nothing special, but I wasn’t sure what kind of food you were into so…" Abe trailed off, suddenly reminded again of how little the pair knew of each other. Absentmindedly, he wondered how much they might learn about each other over the course of the next week and if Maggie would really still like him as much by the time they were through.
Maggie was sure Abraham was confused after that kiss, judging by the time he'd taken to get to the kitchen. She had served them but waited for him to start eating. "Oh, you totally got it right, I love Stir Fry.", she admitted, smiling and grabbing her fork to try it. She brought some to her mouth and tasted it and was totally blown away. "Holy shit, Abe, this is amazing! You really are a chef and I'm gonna turn into a whale if you keep cooking like this!", she laughed, continuing to eat.
Occasionally, she would look at Abraham and just admire him while thinking about something to say but she had no idea, she knew so little about him. "Tell me about you, Abe, I really want to get to know you better. Stuff like, favorite dish, favorite drink, favorite place to go, hobbies, favorite color, those main but essential things, I feel like I barely know you and I'd like to change that.", she wiped her lips with a napkin, looking up at him.
Mass Text: previous Lupus [p]
Maggie: Hey, Ben. We never got to that talk of ours... I'm kind of.. away, I need some time away from Florence. Also, I'm not a part of Wolfus, I would never be a part of their pack, I'd rather die and I still don't know if I can forgive our.... old pack, for submitting to them. Just take care, Ben, when I go back to Florence I'd like to see you if you're still there.
Ben: I can't offer you anything aside from advice: be safe. I understand why some people submitted, it's nothing I can change but you take care as well. And one of these days we'll have to grab coffee.
Maggie: Sounds like a plan. Take care, Ben, just take care and thank you for taking me in your pack all those years ago and teaching me all I know. You saved my life.
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
With each word and staccato movement, Abraham watched as Maggie built up her high walls again and challenged him to climb them. Passively he wondered what might be waiting for him if he reached the top. “I want to be on the same page," Abe began, thinking that this was not at all how he planned this explanation, “I like you and I’m sorry it took me this long to realize that. I guess I just get caught up in other things sometimes and I forget to look and see what is in front of me." Abe walked up beside her and touched his hand to hers. “I over think relationship stuff because when I get into something that is serious, I do it all the way. I understand if you aren’t ready for something like that, because we just recently met, but I wanted to let you know where I am."
His eyes searched her face and pleaded for it to look up at him the way before. The speech had come out jumbled and rushed and all Abe could do now was pray that she understood what he was trying to get across. Maggie was something so out of his realm and special that he knew he would try anything to get her to understand how he felt. He’d talk all night if he had to. “As much as I’m enjoying spending this time in our bedroom, our dinner is getting cold waiting for us." he joked in a weak attempt to lighten the mood.
Maggie's heart raced like crazy as she heard his words but couldn't help feeling like maybe he was only telling her that to make her feel better. But then again, she doubted Abraham would lie to her about his feelings. She turned around and looked into his blue eyes, they were so gorgeous, she could stare at them all day. "I am ready for something like that. Especially if it's with you.", she gripped his hand, smiling. Maggie could tell he was nervous by the way he stumbled on his own words but she had understood what he meant or at least, she hoped so.
The brunette reached up, standing on her tip toes and gently grabbed Abe's face, pressing her lips against his for a short kiss and walked out of the bedroom. "Yes, the food, I'm starving", she said after noticing just how surprised he looked. She smiled, sitting down at the table and waiting for him. "You coming?"
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
As Abe finished up dinner he cursed himself over and over. He should have kissed Maggie. Abe was absolutely sure he wanted to kiss her, and about 95 percent sure that she wanted him too as well but for some reason, he didn’t take his chance. The more he thought about it, the more he realized that the thought of being with Maggie made him extremely nervous. Not only did he not really know much about her and her him, but it Abe wasn’t exactly the most experienced guy. In the past, the girls he had been with were people he had pretty much known all his life, but Maggie was new and wildly out of his comfort zone.
Abe cooked and thought hard and finally, after an internal debate, he decided that he should just lay everything out on the line for this girl. As he set the table for their meal he went over how he would explain to her his nervousness and try to make her understand how much he really did like her. When everything was perfect, he took a deep breathe and walked over the the bedroom door to collect Maggie for dinner.
Maggie looked, for lack of a better word, utterly sad. For a moment, Abe watched her sit in her sorrowful silence and tried to find the write words to say. “Uhm Maggie," the words seemed to jolt her out of a trance and she looked up at him with big, almost embarrassed eyes, “We can both sleep in here…" Abe hadn’t planned on saying that but it seemed to fit. Seeing her like this had just made him want to hold her more than anything. She looked as though someone had peeled back her hard shell and left a raw & exposed girl instead. For a moment he was reminded of the day she told him about her parents and her dreams in new york. He remembered the way the sun cast the shadow of the trees on her through his truck window and he thought that, just like the rays peeking through the leaves, he was getting a glimpse of who the girl sitting next to him really was. Abe saved this moment in his mind next to that one before Maggie could build up her walls again.
Maggie was caught off guard when she heard Abraham talk to her and say they could sleep on the same bed. She looked up, trying to hide the tears that were about to fall then looked down at the suitcase. "No, you don't need to say that just to make me feel better and you don't need to play it off cool either, I understand if you don't like me that way but you could've at least told me so I don't make a fool out of myself.", she put the photo down and stood up, continuing with what she was doing before.
She realize in that moment how she didn't know Abraham at all, he was kind of just a lovely stranger she had accepted to come in a vacation with and that did sound good until a certain point. "I feel like we're not on the same page, Abe and I'm so sorry I didn't mean to push you or anything.", she sighed. "I'll fix your clothes too, don't worry.", she grabbed his suitcase aswell and set it on the bed, the whole time not looking into his eyes.
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
Abraham looked down at Maggie, completely bewildered, for a good long while. Frantically, his mind struggled to find a polite way to respond to what she had just said to him. Manners would suggest that he accept her invitation to sleep in the same bed as she was, but he was afraid that she may see that as him trying to make a pass at her. But then, she didn’t seem to mind that idea either and Abe couldn’t help but wonder what that meant.
So far the two of them had been friendly beyond belief, but neither of them had made a move forward. It wasn’t because Abe wasn’t attracted to Maggie, because he was, but there was something, someone, keeping him from taking the next step. Now that he was looking at the entire situation, he saw how unfair it had been to Maggie. He was doing all of these nice things, going as far as taking her on vacation, and still he was stuck pining over a woman that he could not ever have. Everything within him wanted to just leap forward into what ever this was with Maggie, but still he was being held back.
Slowly, Abraham took a step towards maggie, closing the distance between them without saying a word. His heart raced at her proximity and a lump of nervousness caught within his throat. Carefully, reached his arm around her and, while looking deeply into her eyes, grabbed the cutting board of vegetables she had chopped for him. “Thanks for these," he said softly and took a step back before brushing them into the pan.
Maggie looked into his eyes as he stepped closer only to see him grabbing the cutting board. Damn, she thought. Maybe they weren't on the same page at all, maybe she had been misinterpreting him all this time and what could've been so good was probably going to end up in a heartbreak, as it always did for her. "You're welcome.", she looked down and closed her eyes for a few seconds. It was time for her to slow down. "You take the bed, I'll take the couch.", she looked over at him and saw him doing his own thing in the kitchen so she decided to step back, he was a Chef after all.
The young woman turned around in her heels and walked into the bedroom, there were two closets so it made no sense there was only one bed; or perhaps the owner thought they were a couple. Maggie put her suitcase on top of the bed and unzipped it, starting to set the clothes on the shelves and hangers. She couldn't really hide how she felt because although her and Abraham only knew each other for a few weeks, she really liked him -- probably more than she'd like and Maggie wasn't the type that liked getting attached to someone, especially if that someone didn't like her back. As she was taking her clothes out of the suitcase, she saw a picture frame peeking out in the bottom of it and reached out to grab it; it was a picture of her and her parents, it had been taken on the night they got killed, after the fashion show.
She sat down on the bed, looking at how happy they all were, big smiles on their faces, especially her parents' -- they looked proud, proud of her. Maggie closed her eyes, holding the picture against her chest and taking a deep breath, hoping Abraham wouldn't walk into the bedroom and see her like this, she hated to show her weak side to people because it made her feel even more weak. The thing was, she just missed her parents so much, she had burned all their pictures except that one because the idea of forgetting her mom and dad's face was just terrifying. Sometimes, she wondered if there really was a God and if there was, why had this been her destiny? Maggie had never been the religious type and she knew you should never question God but she couldn't help it, it seemed so unfair, unfair to let her live with the pain of losing both parents and on top of that, being a werewolf. Sometimes she wondered how she handled everything and until to this very day she didn't have an answer for it.
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
Abraham nearly sliced his finger off when Maggie suggested them sleeping together. Now, he hadn’t been with a lot of girls in a romantic way, but he was pretty sure that by her suggesting that they sleep together that meant she was okay with whatever came along. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, abe tucked away that deduction and decided to avoid the topic completely."Yeah, I could use some help," Abraham said in what he was hoping was an even tone. Carefully he piled some vegetables on a cutting board with a knife and slid the file over to Maggie. “Are you okay to chop up some veggies?" He asked politely before turning to the stove in their little kitchenette.
Abe pulled out a large, bowl shaped pan and poured just a dollup of cooking oil in it before setting it on high. “A walk on the beach sounds like fun by the way," he said smiling over his shoulder to Maggie, “We can definitely do that after we eat." Somewhere in the back of his mind, Abe reminded himself that he had never been to the beach. It seemed funny to him that all his life he lived this close and the first time he’d be experiencing it, it would be with a girl he had just recently met. Something about Maggie made him feel comfortable. Generally, Abe was the type of guy who had crushes on girls like Maggie from a far but her inviting attitude seemed to compel him to invite him in. He wasn’t sure why, but when he was around Maggie, Abe was just a little bolder.
Maggie looked at the vegetables and nodded, grabbing a knife. He was so avoid the whole sleeping thing but Maggie wasn't the type to give up, especially with a guy like Abraham. The people in Florence, like her pack and friends there, knew her as being very quiet and shy but Maggie was anything but shy. Back in New York, she used to have plenty of male company and had no problems in getting it. She had decided to leave her old self in New York but deep down, she was still the same.
"Why are you avoiding it? There's nothing wrong with sleeping in the same bed, it's only sleeping, you don't need to look so terrified about it. Nothing will happen, unless you want to.", she muttered the last part, cutting the vegetables and looking down but feeling Abraham's gaze on her. "It's up to you, Abe. But I won't let you sleep on the couch our whole vacation, I'd feel guilty.", she finished cutting the vegetables and turned to him, only to meet his confused yet somewhat surprised look.
My house has turned into a batcave
I don’t think you are a simple girl now, but I still like you all the same.
Thank you, you're so sweeeeeeet. [hugs him]
My house has turned into a batcave
You don’t know that {grabs some smartfood popcorn & cranberry gingerale}
I do know that. You look like a simple guy who likes simple girls. I was anything but simple back then.
Let the good times roll | Maggie & Abraham [Vacation]
Abraham had stopped listening after Maggie questioned him about the room. He specifically remembered asking if there was two beds in the condo, and the owner assured him there was. Trying not to look to panicked, Abe looked around the apartment and tried to sort out were this other bed could be hiding. It wasn’t until Maggie had settled on the couch that he remembered that the owner said there were to places to sleep.
"Fuck!" he thought to himself. He had this all planned out and this whole sleeping situation had thrown him for a loop. Abe put down his bags down in the living room area and moved Maggie’s things to the bedroom before saying, “I could have sworn the guy said there were two rooms but I guess I am mistaken. You can sleep on the bed and I’ll sleep on the couch." Abe couldn’t have her sleeping on the couch like some kind of bum. He’d sleep on the couch if that made her more comfortable. Briefly, the thought passed through his mind that they could sleep together, but, given his present company, he shook that thought away as best he could. “Why don’t you go get settled in there, and I’ll fix us something to eat. Then we can decide what we want to do tonight"
Maggie noticed how bothered Abraham looked when he realized there was only one bedroom. "Hey...", she stood up and walked up to him, gently grabbing his forearm. "Don't let that get you down, we can always find another condo or buy a bed. Or we can sleep together, I don't mind.", she looked at him but looked away immediately. The thought of sleeping in the same bed as Abe made Maggie have some not so innocent thoughts. "I won't let you sleep on the couch for a week even if it's a very comfy one.", she crossed her arms in front of her chest, leaning against the kitchen counter.
"Need some help with the food? And I was thinking we could go to the beach later then go have a walk or something, I love night walks and here in L.A, I'm sure it's even more amazing.", she smiled, watching Abraham as he started cooking something. She couldn't help but admire him, how his blondish brown hair fell in front of his beautiful ocean blue eyes or his toned arms and shoulders -- he was one of the most handsome guys she'd ever come across and honestly, she would've never thought he'd ever notice her.
