"Know that curly is an enabler and anya is a victim" maybe for your little pea brain, but my massive, hulking cranium can appreciate fanart of them in absurdly wild scenarios while still understanding that fanart doesn’t change what actually happens in the game.
On top of this Curly is also a victim and Anya is also an enabler. I don't know why people do not want to acknowledge this but it's not even subtle.
Jimmy emotionally abuses Curly pre crash, every time he shoves unwanted pills down Curly's throat is medical abuse, the time he beat Curly cause he was upset with Anya and Swansea is physical abuse, he ate Curly alive, and then forced Curly to eat himself. On top of all of this Curly is disabled because of Jimmy's murder attempt.
As for Anya she asked her rapist to give medical care to her defenseless patient. She had other options this shouldn't have been one. Are her reasons understandable? Yes, but that doesn't change this being a bad thing.
They are both victims and unwilling enablers to the same man. Them being enablers does not cancel out their being victims or vice versa. This also applies to Swansea and Daisuke by the way.

Concept: Curlya spooning…
Do you think curly would be the big spoon or the little spoon? :)
I am a big fan of little spoon curly but in my heart of hearts they switch :) my favorite little insomniacs
I can’t sleep so I made a Jimmy for all your Jimmy bullying needs!

In Greek mythology, the story of Bacchus and Ariadne is about the god of wine falling in love with a Cretan princess who was abandoned by her lover:
Ariadne: The daughter of King Minos and Queen Pasiphaë, Ariadne was in love with the hero Theseus.
Bacchus: The god of wine, Bacchus fell in love with Ariadne at first sight.

I wonder if villain romances becoming a big thing on booktok isn't much to do with the villain, and more with the idea of being seduce by them to the dark side. The fantasy of a villain backing you up against the wall and kissing your neck whilst you succumb to him, as a way of showing he loves you and that you can be together - the idea that seduction equals love. But this isn't just a bad boy - this is a person who regularly treats other people horrifically. If you do join a horrible man's side just because he made out with you one time, it imo only shows that you had a desire to flaunt your power over others and hurt them, you just needed a push. It's no wonder that mainly cis white women fantasise about villain romances.
They’ll get you for this take lol
I think a big effect is also th "A hero would sacrifice you for the world. A villain would sacrifice the world for you." view. Regardless of what you think about it, I can see why people find that appealing.
Superman wouldn't(or shouldn’t) burn the world to cure your sickness forexample but Lex Luther would. He might make you sick again afterwards in a sadistic power play just to prove he is god or something... Yeah I still don't see the appeal
Perseus killed hundreds of ppl to protect Danaë and Andromeda, whether it be Phineus and Polydectes + their men or Dionysus, Ariadne and the Maenads. He’s still a likable guy who respects these women’s agency and autonomy, he still has tons of friends and doesn’t fix all his problems with violence, he’s still very much a hero. So yeah I don’t get the villain appeal either lol
"A hero would sacrifice you for the world. A villain would sacrifice the world for you."
I honestly don't understand where that phrase came from, because it doesn't portray at all what a Hero is, but rather what a villain would do: sacrifice people for what he considers "The Greater Good."
((Sindrome, for example, was willing to sacrifice Mirage to prove a point; prove that Mr. Incredible was not strong enough to sacrifice his moral code and he succeeded, but not in the way he expected))
.
.
As @sarafangirlart said, a Hero will go to great lengths to save everyone, preferring a thousand times over to sacrifice himself before sacrificing others for the good of the world
((From: What's So Funny About Truth, Justice And The American Way by Joe Kelly, Doug Mahnke and Lee Bermejo. Using this Post as an excuse to recommend one of my favorite comics? maaaybe))
.
Heck, I can only think of one time when the Hero was forced to sacrifice someone to save others, and it was in the Spiderman game and for Peter it was a horrible dilemma where he had to make a decision (AND ONLY because Aunt May tell him to do so).
There is no problem if they prefer a villain as a love interest to the heroes (to a certain point I understand the appeal).
But don't lie to me by saying that a Hero is going to sacrifice me for the good of others, because I know that if the decision falls between Superman and Lex Luthor, it won't be the man of steel who is going to pull the trigger.
Pentheus and the Stranger from Lydia ☀️🐂☀️
Ah yes, the stranger from Lydia ! This totally mortal man who doesn’t scheme anything suspicious at all. Just a friendly priest who wants to help his cousin.
It's a Theatre Play, bro. There is nothing to worry about!
A person being dismembered? What are you taking about? That's a lion being torn to pieces!
Everything is under control...

Saw a video on tiktok saying Belle from beauty and the beast would've "loved" booktok because she made a ick face when the beast turned into a blond man
And I have to say whoever made that video is so wrong
I know belle wouldn't like booktok because all booktok men are just emo Gaston
Dark haired arrogant pricks who can't take a no for an answer act like they are god gift to this world and are always surrounded by a hunch of "Yes men" and brainless bitches who fawn over them
The og shadow daddy Rhysand has an entire thing of making feyre to learn how to write by writing over and over again about how amazing he is which how this is different than the Gaston song from beauty and the beast
The beast is actually, besides the kidnapping, not at all similar to booktok men because even tho he kidnapped belle he never forced her onto anything he basically left her alone for most of the time and he changed to be better for her tried to be less angry grumpy and more nice to her
If the beast was a booktok men he would've keep acting like a barbaric monster and the only difference would be belle eventually would be gaslit or plot holed into lowering her standards to him
So no belle wouldn't like booktok
And fuck off
Not to mention that at the start of the movie, Belle reads a fairy tale with a Prince Charming character and she was swooning over him. She would HATE the modern trend of “the villain gets the girl” bc that would just remind her of how Gaston treated her, it wouldn’t be a “harmless fantasy” to her at all.
There's also another thing to be pointed out:
This is basically the summary of Booktokers' problem with "Beauty and the Beast" as a concept:
They think they want the Beast, because they only like the Sex Appeal of the beast in concept (Monster F*ckers, basically). Just to leave aside his development and his relationship with Belle.
((My man was ready to let Belle go to rescue her father even knowing that it will mean becoming a beast forever. Because he loves her too much to see her unhappy)).
.
They think they want the Beast when in reality they really want Gaston; you know, the abusive and misogynistic man who only loved Belle because she was the only one in town beautiful enough (for him).
.
((Remember when he try to lock her father in a Sanatorium just to lure Belle in marriage She. Did. Not. Want?))
.
Now what does that sound like?
// Jimmy didn't exist AU
Perhaps in another timeline, after countless space trips together, Anya finds peace and love with Curly, free from the darkness that never came.

Random but I love how in ur jimblasted comic u make Swansea kind of a jerk. I feel like a lotta fans just kinda water Swansea down to just “gruff dad who’s a softy at heart” so it’s refreshing to see him like, as much of a jerk as he often is in canon. Not that it isn’t fun to see the softer and more parental side of him explored sometimes, and no hate to fans that do that of course, just like. He’s a very flawed guy and it’s nice to not see that sanitized. Y’know? Anyway, have a great day!
Thanks and yeah :)
People forget that Swansea is SO FUCKING MEAN in the game, he's such an unapologetic jerk. But unlike Jimmy who is a jerk and mean with spite and malice, Swansea is mean, but doesn't mean any harm and is self-aware of how much of an asshole he's being, that's just who he is. But of course being rude and mean is unpleasant to others and you can say a lot of hurtful stuff, which Swansea does. Being harsh on others can both be a positive and a negative trait, it all depends on the situation.
I love Swansea and his genuine unfiltered meanness.
Friendly reminder that this is what Swansea says about Anya to Jimmy when you try to interact with him again when he is blocking Utility:
And this when you try to unlock the cargo before helping Anya with Curly:
So yeah, I think many in the Fandom forget how awful Swansea was with everyones (Especially with Anya), not to mention how unwilling he was to collaborate with everyone after the Crash.
i want to go home.
