End of the Year and Assignments

Hey everyone! 

You guys are doing such great jobs out the gifts! It’s so much fluff and cuteness, we’re so proud of you! 

HOWEVER! :/ Not so great news, we still have a few gifts not posted and time is running out! 00 

(quite literally, it’s December already?! what happened to November?!?!)

Us mods talked and we would like to end the event still in 2018. So for the gifts still to be posted: 

By this Sunday Dec. 9th, all gifts must be delivered. 

After that on Monday, Dec. 10th, pinch hitters will be given green light on their assignments, to be posted by Dec. 22th at the lastest and to the best of their abilities. 

We understand the Holidays make a mess out of everything and we don’t want to push it any further. 

Ee also understand it’s one week to work on, but pinch hitters will be contacted to check which assignments they’re okay to work with before hand, so hopefully, you’ll have an idea what to work with and remember: you’re delivering a gift. Anything made with care will be perfect.

What’s a pinch hitter? A pinch hitter is somebody who takes a piece somebody has dropped and works on it in their place. Schedule Delay

Hey folks!

Firstly, sorry about the delay. Emails about with assignments should’ve been sent already and that’s on me. I’m sorry for the inconvenient.

Mod Rosie has been god sent to keep this party going.

Some emails have been send and some of you guys have their assignments, so it’s a matter of getting to work! XD

For all of those who haven’t received their emails DO NOT FRET! Apparently Gmail has a daily limit sending mail (which should be up 500 mails, not the 20+ we tried to send and came back). So, we literally won’t be able to send anything more till tomorrow at least. (¬､¬)

This weekend (13-14 October) we’ll try our best to send out the rest and there will be an extension on posting period.

on the due date, any unposted assignments will be defaulted and sent out to a pinch hitter (although you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to default yourself before then, to give pinch hitters as much time as possible).

obviously incomplete works will also be defaulted (in the past, i’ve seen sketches and incomplete fills, and i’ve gone on the assumption that those works will be finished by the time works go live --- and i have been wrong on that as much as i’ve been right. so this year, your work really has to look complete to me).

just a note, before anyone drops out or asks for an extension: on the due date, i’ll do a review of the posted fills. 

they DO have to be complete. when i look at the art or read the fic, i should be able to enjoy a full work.

they do NOT have to be polished and perfect by then --- you’ll have until works go live on makoto’s birthday to do all the polishing and perfecting you like.

2017 makoto birthday exchange: prompts open to all + deadline reminder

lots of sincere thanks to everyone who has signed up for makoto’s birthday exchange this year, and to all who have expressed interest and offered support along the way. you’re all the reason we’re doing this once again. 💚

these prompts are open to EVERYONE, whether or not you signed up as an original participant

these prompts are FREE (ha ha...:3) to all. there is no need to sign up or claim one: if you see something you want to do or someone you want to do something for, go for it!

if you are doing a free/open fill (formerly called Party Favors), there is no deadline --- but we recommend posting within a few days of makoto’s birthday, so everyone can get full enjoyment and appreciation of your hard work while makoto’s birthday is on their mind.

I’m super happy to say that, thanks to some help from AO3 support, assignments for the 2017 Makoto Birthday Exchange have gone out. :D

Participants --- please check the email associated with your AO3 account. You can also find your assignment by logging in to AO3 and clicking on “Assignments” in the left-hand menu.

If anything looks wrong with your assignment (that is, if you got something you didn’t put on your Phase 2 sign up), please contact Miaou immediately and we’ll work something out.

Right now, there’s no official Party Favors --- but everyone is welcome to do a fill for a prompt, whether or not they’re an original participant (an unofficial Party Favors).

And I’m happy to say that thanks to the flexibility so many of you demonstrated in phase 2, matching is going smoothly and assignments should be out a few days early. :D
