12 - What’s the best memory of your father?
My father, again, died when I was young. I hadn’t learned how to read by then. I do remember him reading me a bed time story... About a sword lost to the sea that washed up on a beach one day. A rusty sword that a child polished, and though it was no good for battle, it was magical, and when the kid held it... they turned into a great warrior and had to battle the sea sloads...
For my uncle, I think the best memory I had was my wedding, where he stood in the place of my father and watched as I bound our family with Laiqando’s.
15 - Do you want to parent like your father parented you?
Well, I should like to live to see my child grow. I don’t want to die before my child turns ten.... But yes, I think my Uncle and my Tala were good examples to follow. They were both learning, and they had their flaws, but ultimately I think they both loved us dearly. I never truly connected with my Tala, but I know he’d face down Molag Bal himself to keep me safe. That’s a rare security for children. I want to be that sort of a rock for mine. I want to be solid bedrock.
