Okay, sweetie, let's get you ready for bed. Mommy's going to change your diaper, and then we can cuddle for a little while longer before it's time to get in your crib. Oh, honey, no. You're not staying in my bed tonight. You're being silly! I don't have the mattress protector on my bed right now, and you know Mommy can't risk the mattress and another morning in wet sheets.
Sweetie, I know you'd really like to, but the answer is still no. Yes, this is Mommy's bedroom now. Of course, you're always welcome here – I love having you! Just not by yourself, or for too long without a fresh diaper. You've been in diapers for a while now, and accidents happen. Besides, your crib is much better equipped to handle a leaky diaper than my bed.
Nice try though, sweetie, I'll need to keep an eye on you. We don't want you getting confused again about things, do we? And we definitely don't need any more fussing or tears about not being "The Man of the House" anymore. Not in this house! No way Jose! We're all done with that kind of thinking. It's outdated. That's right "All gone," good job baby (claps hands*). Besides, "The Mommy of the House" sounds much better anyway.
