You said a lot of times in interviews that you’d like to meet your fans and take the time to talk and know every single one of them better. I know it’s difficult to do when you’re on the road So, let me introduce myself: My name is Melissa Labonne (please call me “Mel”!), I’m 18, I live in a small town close to Montreal called Saint-Maurice AND I am a Swiftie since 2007.
“A place in this world” is the very first song I heard of you on the radio and I literally fell in love with it! Back then, if someone would have told me that buying your first album would be the beginning of a magical musical love story… I would have never believed it!
But here I am 8 years later, writing this letter with “Long Live” on repeat next to me and I don’t regret anything!
Your songs have been the soundtrack (It’s a new soundtrack I could dance to this beat Forevermore!!!!!… *Sorry*) of my life through every good and bad moments, my laugh and my tears and when my father has been diagnosed with an incurable cancer 2 years ago, your music was always there to make me smile when I needed it and I can’t thank you enough!
Talking about that… I know what it’s like to receive bad news like that and that’s why I had a shock when I heard about your mother… But PLEASE, hug her for me and tell her that everything will be Okay even if it’s difficult!
I have 2 brothers and 1 sister. My younger brother, Giles-David (7 years old) is Autistic and he particularly loves your song “Shake It Off” but every time we’re in the car with our father, we listen to your second album and if you could only see the smile on his face when he hears the first notes of “Fearless”… It’s Magical!
Taylor, I know that it’s not always easy for you and that sometimes it all gets a little too much, but I’d like you to know that I am and I will always be there to support you through every rumours and bad moments, like a Best Friend would do!
You’re authentic! And you’re not afraid to sing about what affect you the most and i think that in that way, you help a lot of people to be more confident. You’ve always been there for me with your music and your awesome personality! You are one of a kind and you can’t imagine how much you mean to me! You always have the good words to make me smile when I’m sad or not having a good day. Since I’m 4 years old, I dream to be a singer and you’re the reason why I keep writing songs (Maybe I’ll write one with you someday…), playing guitar everyday and don’t give up when someone tells me that my dream will never come true. Now, when someone discourages me, I just SHAKE IT OFF!!!!!! Because you made me realize that if I believe in myself, everything is possible and I’m stronger than everyone who will ever try to bring me down! You are an incredible inspiration for me and I hope you know it!
