Went hard on the drawing for the Summer Prompt Event so I ended up turning it into my submission for the Beach Day prompt LMAO. Thus here's the textless version too

Beach Day: Let the spies spend time on
so this is based on a painting done by J.C. Leyendecker. at least I think so. And also just refs of two men waltzing as well. And i drew this becuase I wanted black to blend into the darkness.
I played aorund with a layer setting to add a grainy effect to the drawing and this was my fave out of the results.
I'm realizing now White kinda looks annoyed at having to be led lol.

I did something sooo simple, I stopped drawing for a long time. I don't know why it just happened, and I think it shows… upsi. Anyways I was playing around with the Procreate tools and this is the result

takeaway 1: have a much easier time if you clean up your sketch really really well before doing the lineart. had to do a rough sketch, then a detailed sketch after sometimes.
takeaway 2: maybe try setting a time limit for sketching, no time limit for lineart.
takeaway 3: remember to save the color palette (values of grey) to pick from later on using a layer above all clipped adjustments. the paperback comics use multiple shades of grey, it's not just grey, black, and white.
takeaway 4: try one of those 3d modeling sites for references. note: the hair is going to appear more on the outer arms, not the inner arms, and the background lineart is thinner than the subject's outer lineart.
takeaway 5: I added noise / grain effect over grey only. in future, try adding barely visible grain to the white and black layers too (SAVE PRESETS FOR HIGH GRAIN AND LOW GRAIN).
♡ time taken: around 12 hours? took me 2 days to complete the comic.
♡ I didn't use references this time. "I dont want to hunt for them." remember I have those websites where you can pose a 3d model, maybe try one of those next time.
♡ drew a comic border using the ruler tool in photoshop for each panel
♡ gradually started giving more fucks about the comic the more I invested, I find that the first panels of the comic are probably going to have less effort put in
♡ I need to figure out with practice how to pace myself because I start out wanting to finish an entire comic in one sitting but, that's NOT the way to go about it! gotta practice discipline by returning to it, committing to a comic, and find what works best for resting my eyes, hand, and rest of my body from sitting so long.

About a week ago I discovered this amazing franchise that I wish I had known for MUCH longer, Spy vs Spy. It took just one fan animation to instantly get me hooked (The Me and Mr. Wolf animation by NyanaKnifegal, you should totally check it out if you haven't, it is PEAK). Then I watched the actual cartoons and saw most of the comic strips from the MAD magazine, and it was at that point where I truly fell in love with the franchise. Not long after it didn't take me long after to discover more amazing artwork and animations by loads of people from the Spy vs Spy community, which only made me love it even more. You guys are INSANELY talented, thank you so much for blessing my eyes with your Spy vs Spy artwork, whether it be just the spies themselves or your own ocs. I adore them as much as your spysonas very much to the point where I've been inspired to make one of my own, which you can see on my previous post. I have some drawing ideas I want to do with her :DDD But before I do, first I wanted to take the time to nag quite a lot of spysonas to draw in my style, but also practise the actually Spy vs Spy style at the same time. Really hope all who's sonas were drawn here like them, they were TONS of fun to draw!! Once again, I'll stick around this beloved fandom for as long as I can now that I just discovered it. Hope you guys enjoy my presence, more spy art is sure to come very soon. ❤
