I have just watched the last episode of Game of Thrones. You don’t need to hear that I’m disappointed - it is as predictable as the episode itself. I offer you my plot for this whole season, which I think has much more of that earlier GOT vibe.
***
FIRST - they have lost the battle of Winterfell.
The living flee while the Dothraki distract the dead - they shouldn’t have attacked head-on at all and stayed behind instead. They didn’t even have dragon glass weapons to kill the dead to begin with. And nobody knew the red witch would come to set their swords ablaze, so how were they thinking to fight at all??? So Dothraki should have dragon glass weapons. In fact all the forces actually should use the advantage of having walls and stay in the castle. They eventually decide to retreat to not be trapped in the castle because it’s obvious that they cannot hold.
Remnants of the army and people flee while the dragons fight, kill the undead dragon. One living dragon gets injured and then swarmed and killed by the whites. The remaining Dothraki would attack and retreat constantly to slow down the dead and lead them away from the retreat. And Drogon could light up the forest in a line to slow down the dead even more and separate them from the retreating forces.
Brandon could be picked up by Daenerys to flee on the dragon too. And the night king would resurrect the new dragon to then attack Kings Landing.
Arya, Sam Tarly should die in addition to all the given deaths in the actual episode. This episode should show the hopeless of the situation with important deaths.

They could show some provinces evacuating to the south and some being stubborn and staying. Then the aftermath is shown of them being turned into undead and castles destroyed by the new undead dragon.

Bran reminds Daenerys that the Night King wants him and decides to go to Kings Landing to lure him there and give more time to Daenerys’s people. Daenerys would be convinced to send carts with some dragon glass to Cersei to give her some chance but would refuse to help defending Kings Landing. John Snow and Daenerys have a conflict with that since Bran is going to be there alone. But Bran convinces John to let him go with a small group of soldiers and the Hound. Jayme Lanister comes to Kings Landing secretly but is killed by the whites in the battle before he gets to Cersei. The second undead dragon would be killed by the scorpions with the dragon glass. Because scorpions actually kill! The wild fire would be used and the first stage looks like Cersei is winning. Yet the night king breaks the gates and the city would fall and be turned into whites. Then everyone who can gets onto the ship and flees. Cersei doesn’t care to help Bran and he’s left in the castle to be killed by the Night King. Without a dragon the night king can’t do anything to the ships. Euron realizes he doesn’t need iron throne anymore and kills Cersei on the ship.

Daenerys understands they have no chance winning after a million more whites were added to the Night Kings army and decides to leave Westeros and go back to Meereen. They need more ships to evacuate from the Dragonstone and she flies herself to the iron fleet to negotiate. Euron now wants to marry her in return as she has cities in Essos. She has to agree creating jet another conflict with John. The fleet picks up the remaining people from the Dragonstone.

I think that’s a way better plot with a lot of important character deaths that were so critical for GOT. Aaanndnddd!!!! They could later make a spinoff to return and kill the Night King, as HBO clearly wants spinoffs judging by the fate of Arya in actual series.
