Original price sold for: £6.00 before annual pass discount. (Credit to Paul Jones on Facebook for informing me of the price) Price i paid: Unsure. May have bought from Ebay a few years ago. Sold in: Buy The Smiler - Towers trading (?) Comes in plastic packaging with cardboard backing featuring a black and white spiral styled pattern on it with the font above displaying "Pocket Mirror" in the orbitron style font. The back of the cardboard backing card displays The Smiler logo and font at the very top and the barcode along the side going upwards with the usual information about Merlin Entertainment and the year the product released. The mirror itself is round with a plastic black backing displaying The Smiler logo and name. the front features a metal boarder around the mirror. Packaging has been slightly damaged on the plastic package and on the cardboard but it is still in original packaging regardless. --------------------------------- THE SMILER PIZZA BAG --------------------------------- Original price: Free, given away as a promotion. Price I paid for mine: Won for £77 but total cost with postage was £81.20 via Ebay bidding. I however was originally not going to bid on this item as I knew it would go for something like £100+, however i chanced a bid and ended up winning the item in the end and while £80 is considered a lot of money to pay for a plastic empty pizza bag, this item is considered extremely rare and may only pop up now and again if you're lucky to come across one. As I collect merchandise for The Smiler I am lucky to have come into possession of one of these bags as there may only be 40 made out there in the world (This is according to Paul Jones who owns five of the bags in storage) - sources for this come from Paul Jones himself who used to be an avid collector of the older merchandise of The Smiler and a collector for Alton Towers merchandise. --------------------- Item information: Come the year 2014 a single vending machine appeared on the Alton Towers plaza in collaboration with GoodFella's to giveaway The Smiler branded pizza along with The Smiler branded pizza bags to carry the boxed pizza in for free. You were ordered by the information on the side of the vending machine to take a selfie (presumably outside the vending machine) to get your free GoodFella's pizza and then tweet your selfie to the twitter page @ GoodFellas_UK using the hashtag #goodfellasmiler to receive your free pizza around the corner (front of the vending machine). - A single person would stand inside the fake vending machine and then the person inside would dispense the pizza once a button was pressed by a member of the public who had just followed the steps above, allowing the said member of the public to collect the pizza in the branded bag once dispensed. Each person got a singular pizza each, however I do not know if you could have gone back and gotten multiple bags (personally I will assume that it was one bag per person but take that with a grain of salt as I am following information I have researched and inquired about to those who have experienced this promotion. - On the side of the vending machine there was also a QR code to scan where you could receive £1 off on The Smiler pizza in any of the stores selling the branded pizza. - The Smiler branded pizza was available in various supermarkets for a limited amount of time and offered a 2 for 1 promotion for entry into Alton Towers Resort. It was a deep pan pizza base topped with tomato sauce, cheese, spicy sausage, pan fried onions, and Jalapeños with a rating of three chili peppers to equal the pizza was quite hot. ------------------- The bag feels very durable and not like your average supermarket plastic bag that can easily tear. Inside the bag is white and features a slot to slide the pizza into or anything else you may want to place inside the bag. The bag also closes with a clasp and features a plastic black handle on the top. The Smiler logo is placed on the front bag along with the GoodFella's logo on the left hand side in the corner. The text under The Smiler logo say "THE SMILER PIZZA" "LIMITED EDITION" in capital letters featuring the font Orbitron commonly used for The Smiler marketing and ride as a whole.

----------------------------------------- THE SMILER PIN BADGE MASTER POST ----------------------------------------- For a while now I've wanted to make a master post of current The Smiler pin badges in circulation to the general public however this excludes staff button badges (I only own the one which is showcased in this collection but if I manage to end up with any of the others in I will add to this post, the same goes for any future The Smiler pins that pop up in the next few years), pop badges, the STRONG and power of the Towers pins, the 2020 number badge, staff name tag, etc. Again if I have made a mistake with the pin badge years please do let me know, I was severely sleep deprives while researching and fact checking/typing this but I have made sure that the dates match up to the current pin. I know 2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017 pins are all valid in terms of the year they were first sold. Year sold: 2013 Sold in: BUY THE SMILER - Like the clock it comes with scrambled numbers on the front face with this one going clockwise instead of counter clock wise like the bigger clock so you're able to tell the time using this alarm clock. You have the minute hand, the hour hand, and a third hand that activates the alarm sound. Showcased below is a video featuring the sound used for the alarm with the clock having an on and off switch on the back to turn off the alarm sound or turn it on. You can also adjust the alarm clock hand using a small dial on the back of the clock. - The clock uses a small lithium battery. (I am using an AG13 G.PIN +0.%H9 CELL lithium battery for my clock) - There is no backing on my clock, however! It does come with a smooth black backing cover to seal in the battery (I use tape to keep mine in place for this reason). - The clock has springs underneath so it can be wobbled around. (Apologies for lack of information on this regarding the name and official price the item sold for. It's very hard to locate imagery from the 2013 - 2014 era of BUY THE SMILER and bring up proper sources. There's not much information out there regarding this piece of merch unless older collectors can offer that information. --------------------------------------------------------- THE SMILER SCRAMBLED CLOCK --------------------------------------------------------- Original sale price: £12.00 Price i bought mine for: £15 Usually sold on various selling sites for: £30 - £50 or higher depending on the seller but there's also rare chances to find it sold for cheaper. ---------------------------------------------------------- Item information: Year sold: 2013 - 2014 end year sold possibly (if anyone does know the last year these sold for please do let me know and i'll update with credit of course) - Numbers on the clock are scrambled and not displayed as a normal clock would have them displayed i.e. 12, 1, 2, 3. The hands on the clock also go counter clock wise instead of clock wise so it's not a very useful tool to tell the time with like a normal clock would, more so for decoration. The clock comes packaged in a black non branded lid style box with cellophane wrapping (I do not have the packaging anymore so i can not reference this but a quick YouTube search of the old shop merchandise should show this, if anyone does have pictures of the packaging though I'd appreciate it a ton if you could send them over to add to the post, with credit of course). - Clock takes a single AA battery and will tick like a normal clock would. It does not play The Smiler theme or have an alarm function (there is an alarm variant of the clock that does all this which i will showcase soon). ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This type of clock was displayed in The Smiler bedroom but unfortunately there has been rumours it has since been stolen however these rumours have yet to be proven true so take this with a grain of salt. Hi guys it's been a while but i have returned to posting to the smerchive with some wonderful wacky pieces of The Smiler merchandise. and a reminder! I collect for fun and not for competition.
