There is something so special about this place. I could never come back here to live, but it will always have that feeling of home. I hadn't been back here for over 8 years until this short and bittersweet trip, and as soon as I saw the sunburnt red desert and felt the dry, dusty air everything came rushing back. It's an absolutely beautiful place and holds so many special memories for me that I'll cherish forever.

A picture of the locomotive shed that used to hold the big old steam engine right across from where I grew up at the Old Ghan Train Station. The 'donga' (a transportable home) where we used to live was right behind where I was standing taking this photo. So many memories of when our family lived here, and everything felt so giant to me. It was crazy coming back as an adult and scaling everything down from my inflated childlike memories.
