October 3: Day two of moving... Pendant lights over island installed thanks to my dad.

October 2: Move-in day! The rain was challenging, but we have the essentials here (except Cooper). We received our first piece of mail, the WRONG fridge, and our new washer and dryer. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

October 1: Settlement Day!!! Picked up the keys and started moving some things into the new house, pausing to have a drink and bask in the fact that we have our own house again.

Tomorrow we move into full-fledged moving/delivery/installation mode!

September 25: Today was our final walk-thru. With only a few items on a punch list to be handled next week, we are finally ready for settlement.

September 15: Water is running and light switches turn on lights (if you can figure out which switch does what). Driveway apron has been paved as required by SST.

September 11: Countertops being installed. Appliances are in and all electric finishes are done. I got news today that they will have to tear up the end of our driveway to remove a pipe and replace it with a swale. After next week everything besides touch-ups and cleaning should be done.

September 2: Hardwood floors and door hardware have been finished! Apparently the appliances were delivered too, but I missed that.

August 31 (Part 2): Cabinets are installed and the tile work in all of the bathrooms/laundry room is complete. Next up... Floors and counters!

August 27: Amanda took a quick stroll around the house and sent me some photos. The interior is painted and tiling has started. The cabinets have been delivered too! The door looks awesome painted black.

August 22 (Part 2): Inside is ready for painting!!!

August 22 (Part 1): A lot happened outside this week. The stone is finished, gutters installed, stormwater plan executed, septic tank installed, etc. Besides shutters and exterior lights, the outside of the house is close to done.

August 14: Finally got a chance to stop by the house, but I couldn't get upstairs to see what was going on up there. They are done with drywall and are hanging trim and doors. The stair railing has been delivered as well. Outside, the hole for the septic tank is being dug.

August 8: Garage doors are hung. Too bad I forgot to order the openers when they were $70 off this weekend 😕

August 1: Drywall everywhere!!!

July 30: House passed the behind-the-wall and insulation inspections. The drywall was sitting in the rooms ready to be hung, which was exactly what was happening when I came back after work!

July 21 (Part 2): Electric, plumbing, and ductwork all finished. Electric inspection passed today. Another inspection happened this afternoon.
