âPleased to meet you as well, Max Pavic.â Kye answered, bowing at 45 degrees, a habit so deeply ingrained in his mind since he was a child that it had become an automatic response.
Once again, he was taken by surprise. Maxâs reaction was unexpected to say the least, but in a positive way. The older boy was very lively and friendly, something he wasnât used to (Of course, with his lack of experience in the interacting with others department, there wasnât much Kye was used to.) He stumbled when the other smacked his shoulder; unaware of the page that slipped out of his book during the second it took him to regain his balance. He listened carefully; his eyes filled with wonder. âYour family taught you everything? You had a library inside your house? That sounds wonderful.â He commented, picturing in his mind what it would be like to choose what you wish to learn. The situation was like something out of a dream, so good it was hard to believe it was true. But he trusted Maxâs words.
However, there was one thing that didnât make sense to the young dragon, and he fidgeted for a moment, eyes downcast, before daring to make the question. âIf you donât mind me asking, then why did you choose to come here?â He said curious, before hurrying to explain himself. âI-I mean, it seems like you enjoyed being homeschooled very much. Why joining Greenwood now?â His words came out softly, but at least he managed not to stutter more than one time. He counted it as progress. Just a little bit.
Max loved the bowing, it looked ridiculous, which was why he loved it. This wasnât a regular student, that much he noticed, maybe some parental thing.Â
When Max friendly and gently smacked Kyeâs shoulder, he seemed to fall forward almost, not too strong on his feet either. But he was a nice guy, that much he could say for sure. His eyes lingered to where a page of Kyeâs notebook had fallen, and he fell back right away to pick it up, looking it over as he caught up with the Dragon again. He studied it as he answered, a bit distracted because: wow, this was some good stuff. Damn, this was beautiful! He wished he could draw like this. A bit dark on the subject matter, but wow, impressive. âYeah, not a big library or anything, but lots of books with a looooot of different subjects. Pretty interesting.âÂ
The new question had Max not paying attention to the drawing anymore, which Kye hadnât figured was in his hands, before he sort of walked behind the boy instead of right next to him. âUgh, difficult to say. My dad says that if I want to go far in the world, then I should be making friends and allies and learn more than just what my mom knows. He send my older sister away too, I guess heâs right somehow, and I like the challenge. No clue why now, I think he wanted us all out of the house. I have two more sisters, we can be a hand full.â He grinned, then remembered the paper, and handed it back to Key. âYou dropped this btw. Itâs amazing!âÂ
