Montgomery County Agricultural Fair

People Of The Fair: Caitlyn Gardiner, Lexi Barillo, Addie Tallman, and Jessie Rothenbera Caitlyn is a member of three different 4-H clubs and is a member of the Maryland State Council.  Her favorite part of Fair is seeing all of her fellow 4-H members having fun.  Caitlyn loves how Fair has the power to bring people together.  Her favorite Fair food is pizza. Lexi is a member of the Jersey Calf 4-H Club and says her favorite part of Fair is showing her Dairy Heifer.  Her favorite Fair food is the mashed potatoes served at the Heritage. Addie shows her cows in both 4-H and open.  Her favorite part of Fair is the pig races at Racing Park presented by Grant County Mulch and her favorite Fair food is a foot long corn dog. Jessie is a member of the Sheep and Swine 4-H club and her favorite part of Fair is showing her lamb.  Her favorite Fair food is deep fried fried Oreos.

People Of The Fair: Kiara Moten Kiara comes to the Fair annually to earn SSL hours for school by volunteering at Old MacDonald’s Barn.  Working with the animals is her favorite part about the Fair. Her favorite Fair food is deep fried Oreos.

People Of The Fair: Richard Front Believe it or not, Richard Front, used to live on the Fairgrounds right between where the agricultural part ends and the carnival begins.  Richard has been coming to the Fair every year for as long as he can remember and has no plans on stopping his annual tradition.

People Of The Fair: Teresa and Sarah King Teresa has two children in the 4-H Beef Club and comes from a line of family members that have volunteered at the Fair as well.  Her favorite part of Fair is raising and caring for her family’s animals in preparation for the Fair and seeing all of their hard work come together.  When it’s time for a nice cold treat you can find Teresa getting ice cream from the Dairy Parlor. Sarah is a member of the 4-H Beef Club and shows her cattle at the Fair.  Her favorite part of Fair is Fair itself – she loves the atmosphere of it, being around the different animals, and how it brings people together from all walks of life.  Her favorite Fair “food” is lemonade.

People Of The Fair: Nate Mayhew Nate is a Montgomery County 4-H member.  He comes to the Fair annually to show his animals.  His favorite part of the Fair is meeting new people and eating anything from the Big Cheese.

People Of The Fair: Karen Witt Karen is the Superintendent of the Home Arts Department at the Montgomery County Fair, and is following in her grandparents’ footsteps at the Fair.  Her grandparents were founding members of the Fair and her grandfather was the first superintendent of the Poultry barn.  She says her favorite part of the fair is the Big Cheese being open and being able to buy their famous cheese.

People Of The Fair: Jan Alexander Jan is a mother of three with two daughters who are 4-H alumni out of the Horse-N-Around 4-H club.  She is life member of the Montgomery County Agricultural Center.  Her favorite part of fair is anything that has to do with horses and knitting and her favorite fair food is gyros.

People Of The Fair: Tori Willis Tori is a member of the Horse-N-Around 4-H club and participates in the horse show, drill team, and games on horseback.  Her favorite part of fair is seeing all the animals in one place.  Her favorite fair food is grilled cheese from the Big Cheese.
