LUCRECIA & NATALIE:
“I guess I really don’t know much about plants. Aside from vegetables and spices, which I guess I need to know about when it comes to food,” she admitted with a small shrug. “But it does sound like an interesting subject. Do you do anything with your knowledge of this stuff or is it just for fun?”
"I’m a witch, aren’t I? Any respected witch knows a way around plants. Not many follow the old ways, but sooner or later that knowledge is needed anyway,” Lucrecia explained, shrugging.
LUCRECIA & ERIK:
“I have. That’s how I know she’s not happy to see me,” Erik explained and then sent a small smile in her direction. He knew it would be difficult but he knew she would help him, “Just promise if I go there, you’ll bring me back as soon as possible. Or get Nova to, since we’re here.”
"Honey, seeing each other was a shock for both of you. Yes, it was not pleasant, but are you going to give up now that you know she’s alive? Give her time, give yourself time,” Lu suggested. Vampires and their complicated love lives were not something she signed up for, but as Erik’s friend she needed to be on his side. “Scout's honour I’ll take care of you. You’ll be back to your charming self in no time,” she then promised.
RHIANNON & HONOR:
That did cause Honor to look and she gave a slight sigh, leaning down to fetch the writing implement from the floor tiredly. “Thank you. I probably shouldn’t lose this… it was a gift.” She uttered, wiggling the fountain pen lightly. It probably wasn’t worth much in monetary value but she still treasured the sentiment behind it.
"You’re welcome,” she replied shortly. “At least you won’t have to apologise to whoever gave you the pen. That could’ve been a pretty awkward encounter,” Rhiannon added. She wasn’t going to continue the conversation but she couldn’t help herself and had to keep talking.
RHIANNON & CALEB:
“Hey, sorry, I was in the middle of a lesson,” Caleb said, jogging up to the other as he exited the studio, “Were you looking for me specifically or just one of the owners? Lettie isn’t in right now so if it’s dance-related, you can talk to me.”
Rhiannon beamed at the other, wanting to make a good first impression. “I am looking for you then,” she made a move as if she wanted to boop him on the nose but stopped herself in time. “I feel like dancing could be a nice distraction for me so what do you guys offer?”
BRYCE & SKYLAR:
“You know, if I didn’t know you better I would say that you were a crap liar Brycey-boy but I do know you are perfectly capable of spinning a web if you so choose.” Skylar stated. “Drink? On him?” She offered, waving a crisp note in the air. “And if you are itching for a fight that much, I am sure you can create a little havoc of your own.”
"A liar? Me? I came here to have a good time and I’m feeling so attacked right now,” he stuck his tongue at the other, then chuckled. “I could never say no to a free drink. Could anyone? I wouldn’t trust them,” Bryce said firmly. “And I’m trying to be a good boy. Don’t want my leash to get any tighter.”
"It has been fifty years since I last saw you and if this truly your best attempt at apology, then I want a divorce,” Rhiannon told Olve as she took her place on a seat in front of him. “I haven’t been here even for half a day and I already found out about some weird murders. Is that why you dragged me here? So you can get rid of me once and for all without ripping my head off yourself? If yes, know that I will become a very annoying ghost and I will make your life even more miserable,” she continued talking, shooting daggers at her estranged husband.

MIRIAM & NOVA:
“Should or want?” Nova asked.
"Since I’m not really interested in anyone but myself, let’s stick to the original ‘should’,” Miriam said sweetly.
BRYCE & SKYLAR:
“I told you looks can be deceiving. It’s not my fault you didn’t heed my warning…” Skylar commented to a rather bulky, tattooed man who looked like he was about to throw a very big tantrum in the middle of the bar. Sure, she worked there but it was her night off and if someone was going to act like the big ‘I am’ and attempt to throw their weight around as well as their money, she could act sweet and innocent if it earned her some extra cash; and earn it she did. Their little wager based off strength had ended rather badly for him but she’d made quite the tidy profit as she counted it out, blowing a kiss in his direction, clearly goading them.
"Someone is a sore loser,” Bryce commented as he listened to the exchange in front of him. He took a sip of his beer, looking from to the other. “And I would absolutely hate if he started a fight,” he added, smirking.
RHIANNON & HONOR:
“Not to be rude, but I am just in the middle of something right now so unless it’s urgent?” Honor murmured when she heard the footsteps approaching. Lunch had barely happened in between the work she’d had to get through today and now that she’d finished, she had other things to attend to which were just as important.
"I was only going to say that I think your pen fell to the ground.”’ Rhiannon wasn’t bothered by the other’s comment, she only cared that she already did her one good deed for the day.
LUCRECIA & NATALIE:
Natalie nodded, interested in what the other was saying. “I’m sure this is a dumb question, but are there many uses for poisonous plants besides just for poison?” she questioned, figuring if it was a topic that the other was interested in, it would be the easiest method of conversation.
“Of course there are. Everything depends on the quantity and what a person intents to do with them. Some can heal if you use them in a certain way, some don’t affect a person until a certain time,” Lucrecia mused.
MIRIAM & NATALIE:
She looked up when she heard her sire’s voice, thankful to see the woman there. If anyone could understand why she was crying, it was the person who had saved her from the nightmare she had lived in. “I had another dream about him… Why can’t I get over it after all these years? Why am I still so scared?” she asked, wishing Miriam could just give her all the answers and fix her. “Maybe I’m too broken to be a vampire. Maybe I’m just too messed up.”
Miriam’s lips formed a thin line. “If I didn’t see potential in you, you wouldn’t be here. I know you are strong enough to get through it. It’s a matter of time.” Even though she couldn’t forget about her past, she did hope that Natalie would somehow manage. “I can take your memories, make you forget, but it’s not the time to give up yet.”
MIRIAM & JASPER:
“That’s a uh… a pretty big time frame and very different decades. Do you really not remember?” Jasper asked curiously, “I suppose it is a matter of opinion but I don’t think this place is a dumb. It’s my home.”
"If you’re as old as me, you don’t pay attention to the passing time,” Miriam shrugged. “Have you experienced the outside word? If you have nothing to compare the city to, then how can you know what’s better?”
MIRIAM & ATHELSTAN:
“Hate to make you aware of a grim reality, but eventually they will have to do this on their own. Do you know what it could look like? Me suddenly getting involved. I haven’t been sitting on my ass. I’ve found no more than they have as of yet, the attacks are random at best when they happen, only way to see the calculation is too look at the bigger picture. Its like someone is pushing against what Northknot stands for, and I can’t figure out who it could be.” He took a drink, his eyes hardening again, tone chilled to that of a stranger.
There was no point in explaining himself further, any emotional explanation would just seem pointless. He sighed and set the glass down, wilting under the base truth. “I get it, Miriam. I failed in whatever role we Blackthorns have in this damn town.” Finishing his drink, he moved the empty glass aside, he’d need something much stronger than this to deal with the oncoming storm from his siblings. “Go prove that we are not all useless yeah? I gave you what I have, I suggest you visit the pathologist.” He grabbed a card and wrote down the name and a number, holding it out. “If anyone is going to have information, it will be Remington- after all, Davidson had them out at every crime scene and they did the autopsies.” He shrugged a bit and clicked the pen closed, distracting himself by moving to the shelves.
He could start a fight, defend his position and argue with her about what he had done, but what was the point? He disliked being argumentative, he’d rather remain silent, especially around Miriam and Nova. Since the death of Aida, he’d never found the strength to truly argue with his sisters. Picking up a random novel, he flipped through the pages carelessly, not really reading anything in particular. “Anything else I can help you with, sister?”
"I don’t live here, you do, so it was your duty to fix whatever mess someone created before it got too big,” Miriam huffed. She usually avoided the town like a plague, but she always disliked when someone messed with what was hers. “As you can see, I am not happy about coming here. And yet here I am, doing what I must before others run Northknot into the ground. I don’t really care who was poorly dealing with this situation before. It’s about time Blackthornes fix this once and for all.” While she was not looking forward to working with her siblings, she wanted to be back in her castle as soon as possible. She was certain her family would take care of the problem swiftly. Miriam narrowed her eyes at her older brother, not pleased that he was clearly showing her out. She bit her tongue and decided to keep unpleasant comments to herself. “I know where’s the exit, you don’t have to stand up,” she finally said, her tone emotionless.
