Rodick's POV
The vibrations flooded my body as I played the drums. My band, Loaded Diapers, was playing at the mall. We're performing near the food court and the massive fountain where everyone from school sits. Only a few grandmas and little kids are paying attention to us. Little kids run and wiggle around in an attempt to dance next their moms. I see a few teens nodding their heads to the beat, trying to pretend they don't care, but of course our sick beats are wearing them down. I saw the crowd by the fountain part as if God told Moses to part the red sea. It wasn't hard to see why. I'd recognize that platinum blond hair anywhere. Her legs were a mile long in a mini skirt. Classic Regina. My body automatically became more focused, making sure my drum strokes were precise once I saw her. It's not that I want to impress Regina. I just don't want her ragging on my band. The idiots at school can't think for themselves. Whatever Regina likes, everyone likes. If she were to tell everyone how much our band sucks, then we'd be back to square one, and we just got 42 likes on our Myspace page. I'll never understand why everyone decided to give up their power to one person. There would be nothing to be afraid of if everyone stopped caring what she thought. I stopped caring a long time ago and it was for the better. Regina George was evil personified. She hadn't always been like this. Well, maybe she had, but she hadn't always been evil to me, and that's what matters. My hands slammed the drumsticks on the drums as our last song finished.
"Thank you, we are Loaded Diaper! Good night!" Ty screams into the mic.
"And any foxy ladies feel free to come ask for an autograph; we do shirts, CDs, chest shirts optional." Axel rambled.
"Bro, just get the CDs." I snatch the microphone away from Axel, our lead guitarist, well, our only guitarist. He isn't taking this seriously enough. We can't get banned from performing at the mall. Axel grabbed the box while Ty and I walked around handing out CDs. Most people looked in confusion as we shoved the CDs in their hands, but in 10 years these are going to be worth a butt load online. Everyone is going to say they went to high school with the internationally famous band Loaded Diaper. Then they'll wish they had a copy of our first album.I took my drumstick and closed Axel's open mouth as we got closer to Regina and her cronies, Karen and Gretchen.
"Stop being such a freak. Be cool." I say through gritted teeth.
"Ladies, beast your ears on the newest Loaded Diaper album." I ignored Regina handing a album to Karen while Ty handed one to Gretchen.
"Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, and Britney used to perform in malls before they became famous. It's so fetch that you guys play here." Gretchen exclaimed. Ty and Gretchen's hands lingered together a little too long.
"Stop saying that." Regina sneered making Gretchens's excited mannerisms transform into a poised stance with fear in her eyes. Regina turned back to face me. "If we wanted to go deaf, I'd just stab our eardrums with a knife. It would be less painful." Regina snatched the CDs from Gretchen and Karen's hands and threw them in the fountain.
"I'll get it." Axel drops the box of CDs. He takes his shirt off and practically belly flops into the fountain. Everyone at school looks at him and starts laughing. This is not happening. He grabs the CDs, holding them up with a goofy smile on his face. He whips his hair out of his face like he's on Baywatch.
"I guess you guys are Loaded Swim Diaper now," Regina smirks as Gretchen and Karen laugh extra hard to please her. "I heard the fro yo place has fat-free chocolate chip frozen yogurt now." She started her little strut, shopping bags in tow.
Gretchen said a soft goodbye to Ty before she and Karen scampered off, catching up to Regina.
"I don't think I ever learned how to play the ear drums. Did we learn how to do that after the recorder." I heard Karen in the distance.
