sera:
She looked to Rick with those bright puppy blue eyes of hers , a soft smile on her face , “ I’m inclined to agree with him . Things can’t always be this way . The fact that the sun still shines and the flowers still bloom … that’s gotta count for somethin’ right ? ” Perhaps it was a childish hope , but the teen held onto it . Some days , hope was all she had to get her through .
Serafina had heard stories about Rick’s son , some in whispers , some in the times he’d open up to her about it . She considered how nice it might’ve been to have a friend her age - It made her almost wish she’d stumbled into their group earlier - a surprising revelation for Sera ; she never thought she’d be the type to want to be in a group , or even with others .
“ Do you think … Carl and I would’ve been friends ? “ She asked , watching out into the distance , not sure at first if she said it out loud or not . She chuckled softly , “ Well , who knows , all I know how to do is talk about plants and shoot arrows … but I’d like to hope so . ”
❛ i think you’re right. i think it counts for everything. carl…. ❜ there’s a small pause in which rick collects his thoughts. ❛ — he always believed that things could be different and that we would be the ones to change it. ❜ rick’s heart is heavy at the thought of him, that wound still stings, but he smiles at her, nonetheless.
he chuckles at the thought of them , ❛ oh yeah. you kidding? he was good with people. much better than me at times. he would’ve liked you. he would’ve known you belonged here, with us. ❜
