The official start of the 2026 winter Olympics (both Milano and this event!) is just ~29 hours away! Both AO3 collections will then be open for posting until March 15! ❄❄❄

February/March Bonus Badge

Yep, we've picked this one to coincide with @merlinbbcolympics (and, you know, the actual Winter Olympics), because we're big believers in killing as many metaphorical birds with as few metaphorical stones as possible.

That said, so much work goes into making the bonus badges that we want to give the badges to as many people as we can, which is why we're expanding the theme a bit. If you've already got a Winter Olympics fanwork all lined up and ready to go, awesome! If not, don't worry!

Give us sports of all kinds, wintery or not! Ice hockey, jousting, football, polo, golf (yeah, I'm not convinced it's a sport either, but my brother-in-law is adamant). Maybe your characters are playing these sports, maybe they're spectating, or maybe they're just talking about why on earth anyone would want to be involved in that sport at all.

Sports not your thing? Think of characters playing cards, bickering over board games or arguing in escape rooms! Send them back to school for a game of spin the bottle or truth or dare! Get them playing Hungry Hungry Hippos with their kid, or backgammon with their grandparents (or the other way around, that's cool too)!

Hobbies? Maybe they doodle in their spare time, or enjoy a bit of poetry! Knights knitting socks between battles! Reading or writing or studying the language of flowers! Collecting stamps or old coins, toy cars or Pokémon cards!

Honestly, what we really want this time is characters enjoying themselves. As long as they're doing that, you get the badge!

A) Merlin is a figure skater B) Merlin is a figure skater and Arthur is a hockey player. They used to date before something happened. They reunite at the Olympics and Arthur keeps interrupting Merlin whenever he tries to flirt with someone.
