Hi! I am Mia Dulceaphel, a hobby cosplayer that got started in 2008. I have been on Tumblr since 2014 and recently decided to make a digital portfolio of my hobby. After engaging with this hobby for so long, the process of making costumes, troubleshooting patterns and exploring different techniques keeps me engaged with this craft.

I am in my 30's and want to slow my approach to social media and cosplaying- while decentralizing Meta platforms. I am in the process of moving my cosplays from instagram to Tumblr. My posts won't be in any order as I am going through old files and posting what I can find.

Updates Every 23rd of the month~ until I run out of old cosplays to post haha.

Fall semester has started so I wont be posting anything until probably mid December! This account isn't dead, I am using it as my main cosplay account ~ If I can get access to-and download my old deviant art cosplays I will add them to this account too~ until then I might upload some reels on YouTube, of works in progress but nothing fancy. I am but a humble nerd aunty who is lowkey not good at engaging people, just throwing things at the internet like an offering and run away.

This photoshoot was done on location, picture us running around your local university parking structure shamelessly lol. This was more of a closet cosplay, we all pulled our resources to buy thrift store clothes and alter them, in combination with what ever we had already in our closet.

Manga|Anime. DeadManWonderland, Shiro. Worn Summer 2012 Photographer: Eve (lost contact)

At the time, this one was out of my comfort zone. I convinced my cousin to wear the leotard so I could paint it. I didn't know fabric paint existed and just layered on acrylic. it was my first time using foam and had no idea how to shape it, there were a few cosplay tutorials on painting foam by adding a layer of glue. I didn't style the wig just put it on lol, it was a lot of "firsts."

Cucumber Quest, worn summer 2016

If you haven't read Cucumber Quest I really recommend it! it is a web comic and has great story and fun humor. I only wore this cosplay once, mostly because we overheard other fans talking about how the author didn't want people to cosplay from it(?), rumor or not my friend and I retired the cosplay to avoid any issues.

these are lovely cosplays. thank you for making them. the rumor is untrue and i have absolutely no idea where it came from. it makes me incredibly sad to think that other people might also have been discouraged from cosplaying my characters based on false information. i cherish every cq cosplay i ever had the privilege of seeing, including these.

Cucumber Quest, worn summer 2016

If you haven't read Cucumber Quest I really recommend it! it is a web comic and has great story and fun humor. I only wore this cosplay once, mostly because we overheard other fans talking about how the author didn't want people to cosplay from it(?), rumor or not my friend and I retired the cosplay to avoid any issues.

Update: it was in fact a rumor and the author has addressed this matter.

Manga|Anime. Guilty Crown, Shu. worn fall 2012 Myself -as Shu Xhiero- as Inori Gai- Imari, Iost contact Photographer- Yui, lost contact.

This was a last minute make, the Inori and Gai cosplayers had planned to do a shoot and I was invited 2 days before. I made the jacket out of what ever black fabric I could find and did simple ribbon over the edges to look like the blazer. Gai provided the wig and off we went lol.
