Painted!

'Painted' is a percussion ensemble piece that was written and composed for the Lagrange Percussion Ensemble. It features two PVC instruments I built. After about 3 month of composing and a month of rehearsing, it has finally been performed. It was definitely busy and fun. The people involved were great and I cannot thank them enough for the help and how much it meant to me. I truly hope they enjoyed it! The crowd was great. It was an awesome experience to be able to perform for them.

All in all, it was a successful event. :)

The Update

Hello All,

School is in full force. I am in the midst of a busy and productive semester. I am taking sixteen hours and I am trying to take in all of the knowledge that is being taught. I have already performed on recital. My percussion professor and I performed a marimba duet "Wooden Music." It was a very cool piece. It includes a lot of different styles of music and it is constantly changing expressions and feelings. There is a lot of room for personal musicality and dynamics. We took full advantage of that. The next recital will be November 28th at 4:30 PM at the Callaway Auditorium. The Lagrange Percussion Ensemble will be performing multiple ensembles including my own composition titled "Painted." I will also be performing "White Knuckle Stroll" by Casey Cangelosi. It is a great two-mallet marimba piece.

In a week, I will be heading out to Indiana for the 50th Anniversary of Percussion Arts Society International Convention (PASIC)! I am so stoked. I have never been and I cannot wait to see all of the music, artists, and talent brought to the stage. I have always wanted to attend this. I hope to learn a ton of stuff and become more enthralled by music and percussion.

I have Piano II at 9:40 so I better head out.

ECI Bandcamp
