So grateful to be hanging out with these characters this Thanksgiving at @tamerlainefarm. They were rescued from slaughter this year and get to live their lives and express their goofy personalities safe from our violent holiday traditions. Their curious and playful spirits have enhanced my life this year and they make me laugh every time I visit their yard. Spare a thought for the 46 million turkeys who were not so lucky this year, or better yet, spare a life by choosing #vegan. #twitter (at Tamerlaine Farm Animal Sanctuary)
It's a simple thing, but I sure love getting an occasional #zine in the mail from @lukekurtis. This one is especially sweet. #twitter
I used #granular #synthesis to create this instrument. A ghostly choir of turkeys originally the sound of the #turkeys recorded at @tamerlainefarm on my iPhone. I am PSYCHED with how this sound has developed. Played here on #ableton #push.
I have been listening to this album on repeat since a friend posted about the song "Being Boring" earlier this week. In 1990, when this song came out, I fell in love with the warm, mildly funky production, and, of course, Neil's deadpan melody. That was 25 years ago, before I had the experience of losing friends and family the way I have now. I love this song now for its wistful nostalgia and sense of hope for the future, and the way that the song itself reminds me of my gloriously naive youth and the time that the "some are missing" were still around. I wouldn't want to go back to those days at all, but I'm still sad to have seen them go.
Tilly! When I first met Tilly should could not even stand up. Her legs were jacked up from being manhandled and stuffed in a crate to be slaughtered for ritual. I am so touched to see her again, vivacious and running around freely. She's super attached to her sister Lefty and they are inseparable. They both get to live their lives and express their individual personality in safety at @tamerlainefarm. #friendsnotfood. ❤️🐓❤️🐓 (at Tamerlaine Farm Animal Sanctuary)

I seem to be a podcast darling lately. I appeared on the murmur podcast, Drip’s podcast, and most recently on Our Hen House. Oh and there’s always my own podcast, MikeyPod, where I talked with actor Gardiner Comfort this week. Get listening!

After putting off fixing this for two months- today's the day. Add me on snapchat to observe the inevitable hissy fit that happens when I try to use tools.
I adopted this little cutie three years ago today. Happy Gotcha Day, Tigger. 😻 #cat #adoptdontshop
Read a passage from the third-grade reading test called “Secrets Are Hard to Keep” and answer the six questions that students were tested on.
Snake Test
People are upset about a weird reading comprehension test from the New York State third-grade reading test. People feel that the story and “correct” answers are too hard or ambiguous for third graders. My daughter took this test and I’ve seen some of her test-prep homework. There are some weird stories they have to read! The NY Times did a fun quiz that you can take here, to see if you can get the right answers. You should try it.
Many people were especially didn’t like the “correct lesson” answer to question 6. But I have some other questions about this story:
Does the snake give Niel one of his own teeth? So now he’s got just one tooth?
So basically animals talk shit about humans all day? If they’re so great, why don’t they take over? Stupid animals.
If the charm let’s him understand animals, why can he already understand the snake without it? Is the snake speaking English (or Niel’s native language)?
So true love is sharing private giggles?
Where was the snake keeping the feather?
The second charm only works on birds? Kinda crappy compared to the one that worked on all the other animals.
When will the snake learn his lesson and stop giving Niel cool magic stuff that he doesn’t know what to do with? Niel’s a flake! Gimmee some magic!
