Making Kaede join Morning Musume., that not only is their biggest group but also her favorite group, giving her the ace color and debuting her with the promise of making her the next ace and then pushing her to the background was literally sadistic. I can’t blame her for leaving with the feelings she had and being very public about it.

I always wonder where 9-11th gen got the idea that MM has this super strict and rigid hierarchy where kouhai aren't allowed to outshine senpai. Maki and 4th gen called all their senpai by their nicknames, 5-8th gen called Ai "Ai-chan." The only leader in MM's who was very strict and made kouhai use honorifics and didn't let them speak over senpai unless they were addressed was Kaori with 5-6th gen and it's well known that she was doing that because she didn't like them at first.

I think Koharu made a big mistake leaving the group so early. At the time of her grad, she was really popular and really young and I think she felt invincible and that she thought that her popularity would last even after graduating from the group. If she had stayed longer (and didn’t said harsh things at Sanma’s show) I'm sure she would still be a popular OG today, as a big fan of her, i’m sad to see that everyone seems to either hate her either forget about her nowadays… When I think of the hype during the Kirarin era, I feel like she wasted her precious popularity, she could have accomplished so much with it, it’s just sad :(
