Something I’ve been mulling over for a long time is the place of the Miis in Nintendo. They’re customizable little people we can mess with or play as, but within the games they appear in I believe they are a version of an average human.

I believe Miis are the closest thing to an average person the universe of Nintendo is going to have, and they see all the awesome video game characters as celebrities.

Such as the game, Nintendo Land demonstrates

In the game, Miis get to explore a theme park with individual experiences centered around a Nintendo game. In the park are statues with your robot guide telling you, in a museum esque manner, about that certain thing. And when you participate in games, you dress up and play a harmless game that copies the franchise faithfully (albeit with stuffed animals,robots, and wooden yoshis)!

In fact, Miis seem to love dressing up as the video game characters they admire. A lot like how we like to emulate the style of celebrities we like.

In a lot of ways, Miis seem to have their own wacky little society that’s similar to ours, and I think it’s super neat.
