“Huh...did you say something to me?”
“Not if he didn’t ask for it,” Carter said, leading him inside and heading into the kitchen, digging around until he found a plastic baggie and the ice dray. He dropped some ice into the bag and then wrapped it in a paper towel, handing it over. “If he didn’t ask for it, it’s invasive. And weird.”
Milo sighed “This is so complicated, and I don’t understand what I even did wrong, but alright, I won’t use my powers anymore. Or tell anyone...” Milo frowned and took the makeshift ice pack. He felt a bit defeated, like nothing he did was right. “I’m sorry to bother you”
“Do you know what said jerks reason was for punching you in the face? Not that it really matters. I’m just wondering mostly.” He raised a brow, “No problem. Would you like me to get you something?”
“Because that he thought that I was stalking him or something, I don’t know,” Milo whimpered a little bit and tried to nurse his nose “Could you get me some bandages or something, please?”
“Go like this,” Carter said, wrinkling his nose a couple of times. “Even if it hurts, if you don’t hear a grating sound, you’re probably fine. It doesn’t look out of shape or anything, and it seems like the blood flow is slowing down.” He raised an eyebrow. “Well, he shouldn’t have hit you, but probably telling people stuff like that about themselves isn’t the best idea.”
Milo wrinkled it a few times and groaned in pain. It did really hurt, but it probably was the right thing to do. Carter seemed to know what he was talking about. “I don’t know why it was a bad idea, honestly...I was giving him information about his body. Wouldn’t that make someone happy?”
“Sorry.” He stepped back, apologizing, “I was just trying to make sure you were alright. That’s all. What happened?”
“It’s fine...It’s fine,” Milo sighed and looked at the other boy “I got punched in the face by a jerk...” He mumbled “Th..thanks for trying to help...”
“Just wanted to see how you were adjusting. A new school can be rough, especially one with courses as unique as these.”
“I’m not doing very well, if I had to admit,” Milo sighed a bit and looked up at her “It’s so stressful...”
“I have no idea either, I think this is what I get for always hanging around him and always listening to those songs he’s always playing. Wait she said that wow, and here I was thinking she didn’t want us to come to this here in the first place.”
“You’re definitely like dad,” Milo laughed and shook his head “I guess mom decided that we should have some stability for once. Which I think is pretty lame. Stability leads to stagnation”
“Guessing you must be pretty resourceful.” Casey giggled, breath hitched once he felt the boy’s lips on his jaw, and grin spread on his lips. “You missed,” he mused, peering up at the male before pulling him down by his collar, and linking their lips.
“You got no proof,” Casey chuckled, before taking Milo’s hand as well. “Really dude, you need to give yourself a lot more credit that just that. You’re a mutant, meaning you’re kind of amazing. Oh, I don’t? So does this mean I’m about to find out?” He hummed, “I like it, thinking I’m gonna spend a lot of time here, actually.”
“That’s true. But I’ll start proving it,” Milo joked and blushed. He wasn’t used to giving himself a lot of credit, but the compliments did feel very nice. Milo shut the door behind them and stretched a bit “You are about to find out indeed,” He winked and leaned it, placing soft kisses to Casey’s jawline.
“You’re just buttering me up, boy. I think your powers are actually pretty cool, think of it this way, you could be a team strategist, and without you they’d die.” He blushed. “Damn, you’re a lot more devious than I originally anticipated. It’s always the quiet ones they say,” He smiled before noticing the other’s actions. “That’s a very good thing considering.”
“You like it,” Milo teased and blushed a bit further “I don’t know if I’m that important, but thank you all the same,” He leaned back to gently take Casey’s hand “You have no idea how devious I can be, but I do have a feeling you’re rather devious yourself,” He reached his door and opened it for Casey “Welcome to Chez Quill,” Milo laughed.
“I don’t understand either, luckily my mom isn’t on any team, at least not that I know of.” He grinned. “Of course, but we’d need to be somewhere else, because I’m not sure I can display my full powers unless we’re alone. Elegant? I’ve been called many things, but never that.” Casey giggled, nodding at Milo’s suggestion. “We should definitely play together. Then lead the way, and I’ll be sure to follow. Milo, you’re eerily close to me, are you planning on doing something?” he teased.
“Oh yeah, I can already sense that your powers are quite strong, it’s pretty cool. And what? I do think they’re elegant. Much better than my powers, which are rather dull and uninteresting,” Milo winked “I’m not planning on doing anything unless you want me to,” He turned and began walking, but staying close enough so that his arse was almost pressing against Casey’s waist “My dorm isn’t far from here”
“Go mutants, hoorah. There’s so many x-men, and x-teams that it’s kind of impossible to keep track.” He chuckled, shaking his head at the thought. “I’ve got neon manipulation, so I’m a very colorful one. I can fire lasers and run at a moderately different speed that my regular one.” Casey smiled before leaning closer to Milo. “It’s tricky, but if you’ve got good aim, then it’s a piece of cake. Having to constantly move around does make it hard to snipe. I’d always give you credit for playing Mercy, like she’s the most powerful healer, she’s just very squishy. I’d love to.”
“I don’t get it. Like why do they change teams every twelve seconds anyway? I mean, it honestly makes no sense,” Milo smiled softly “That is definitely cool! Show me sometime? I love to see powers, and yours sound so elegant,” Milo stood up and leaned closer to him as well, their faces inches from each other.”Well maybe we should play together, no? Let’s go up to my dorm,” He purred “I can show you my awesome desktop setup” He leaned closer.
“I guess my mom would be an ambivert, these days more introverted than anything.” He grinned. “Dazzler, so our moms probably know each other, maybe? Neither do I, and it’s kind of nerve wracking when you have to talk to super genius kids, or people who can write you out of existence with a thought.” Casey quirked a brow at Milo. “D.VA and Widowmaker are the ones I main, I usually go for Lucio for support, since teams suck when it comes to someone playing Mercy, and they never appreciate them.”
Milo nodded “I’m certain our mothers know each other. Go X-men, right?” He said sarcastically and sighed “Yeah, my powers aren’t anything to write home about. I can analyze other mutants’ powers, as well as their vitals. I can also find objects,” Milo stretched out a bit before chuckling “I really want to be good at Widowmaker, but I jut don’t think it is to be. I get slightly annoyed when I don’t get a commendation when I play Mercy,” He smiled gently “Wanna hang out?”
“Parents, you gotta love them. My mom doesn’t get that I’m fine, I’m too awkward to be engaging on conversation, at least with all the big name hero kids around here. I’ll stick to myself, and Overwatch.”
“Same with my dad. He’s so extroverted...he just doesn’t understand,” Milo mumbled and smiled sympathetically “Same here. My dad is Star Lord, and my Mom is Shadowcat...but...I just don’t want to be a big hero like them, and I definitely don’t fit in with the other ‘big hero’ kids.” He looked up at him again “I main Mercy, and Symmetra, how about you?”
