Zeno stands staring at the door to his apartment building. The doorman doesnt notice him as he is too short to be seen through the door. He waits until someone else enters, using his superhuman speed to run through before it shuts behind him.

He's already exhausted and he hasn't even made it to the elevator yet. He dodges people's feet trying to not get stepped on. He wants nothing more than to reach his penthouse. He has the card in his pocket, but the elevator is so far away. He sits down on a rock dragged in on someone's shoe by the fountain.

Being tiny is really exhausting and hes still not used to it. He sulks wishing for anything to help him.

Leon groans and rubs his hands over his face. He doesn't need to do this. Zeno is a tool on a good day and downright evil more often than not.... But he also knew that adjusting to this new size was not pleasant and he really didn't want someone else to go through that alone.

So, against his better judgement, here he is standing in front of Zeno's bougie ass building. He can see him too, not far inside. The sight of him makes Leon's heart twist and he sighs, cursing himself for it.

It takes only a second to slip into the building, and not much longer to reach Zeno's pity party pebble.

He does his best to make his steps heard as he approaches, then stops a few feet- well, inches- away.

"So. Welcome to the club."

Zeno looks up, rolling his eyes when he is greeted with the older man.

"Great..." he mumbles to himself. "This is not a club I had wished to be a part of, Mr Kennedy. Now if you don't mind." He motions for him to go away and returns to sulking in thought on his rock.

He's not too far from the elevator... If he could figure out how to get there, then he could climb the elevator wall and scan his keycard. Though.. his keycard is small too. It should still work right?

"Yeah... No. Sorry." Leon shrugs, then reaches down and hauls Zeno to his feet. "Right now, the elevator is at least a football field away, and then you have to figure out if you can even reach the buttons. If you can't, guess who's taking mount Everest up to your apartment?"

He crosses his arms. "Or. You come with me. Where you can at least sulk on a couch instead of the pity pebble, and with a bathroom that you won't drown in."

"What do you mean? You have a place that is our size? How would we even get there?" He huffs, unmoving from his spot on his rock. Surely Leon was lying. It wouldn't be like climbing Everest to get to his penthouse... right? Sure it is 30 stories up, but-

"Fine... I will come with you," he says, standing up against his better judgement. "It's not like I have a better plan... Do you at least have penthouse-like amenities?"

"What, my apartment? Not technically. It's a cheap studio." Leon says as he leads them out. His modified RC-Porche sits waiting, hidden from view.

"But I think you'll like the actual house much better. Three stories, and a pool." He grins. "Being small means money goes a lot further."

Leon slides into the car and opens the passenger door for Zeno. "Hop in. It's safe, I promise."

Zeno groans before sliding into the passenger seat of the RC car.

"Do you have modified... well... everything? Is this how you are able to survive so easily?"

"Everything we need, at least. Bathroom, kitchen, things like that. It's not exactly a perfect set up but it's one that works. I only have one bedroom set up, but it won't take me long to get another one ready," Leon explains.

"And I had help. See, when you're not an asshole, you get to have these things called "friends", who can help you when you need it."

"I didn't think you could afford one bedroom, let alone two. You dont mind if I smoke in your plastic car do you?" Without waiting for a response, Zeno lights his cigarette, holding his hand out the window to careful not the melt the car.

"I have friends... they dont know how to help me. Or do not care to."

"The apartment itself is only a studio, no bedrooms at all, technically. But I have a house inside the apartment, and that has plenty of rooms. And fine, but only if you keep the window rolled down. And you're not smoking inside the apartment. There's a balcony."

He pauses for a moment. "Sounds like you need better friends then."

He sighs, "Fine... no smoking inside the apartment, got it..."

He stares out the window for the annoyingly long car ride to Leon's studio, going through several cigarettes in the time it took.

"Perhaps I do need better friends. Not sure where to go looking for those."

Leon pulls into the spot he's turned into his garage- half of a large terracotta pot turned on its side.

"Well," he says, as he steps out of the car. "Could start by being... Eh, maybe ten percent less of a dick? Maybe pick up a hobby. Join a club. You seem like the kind of guy who golfs."

"I do not golf... Could you imagine a bioweapon golfing with regular people?" He groans. "I'm not a dick. People just interpret me wrong."

Hes convinced thats what it is, but is that really what it is? Probably not. Hes a bit of a snob. He gets out of the car, slamming the door inadvertently. He steps out of the pot into the fresh air.

The world is so much larger to him now and unfortunately the only friend he could possibly have is his enemy. Someone who wanted to kill him not even a few months ago. He would have to make the best of it.

"See that? That right there. Less of that and more respect for other people's stuff." Leon points out. "Come on, elevator is over here. I'm on the second floor."

Leon spent most of the car ride watching Zeno out of the corner of his eye. He really is just... Sad and lonely. Evil, sure. An asshole, absolutely. But not a single person to help him through this.

Sometimes Leon hates that he's so weak to puppy eyes.

He sighs to himself and hops over the side of the "elevator", which was really just a basket attached to a pulley system up to his balcony.

"Get in, I'll pull us up."

Zeno looks at the basket, then back at Leon.

"You have to be joking. This is your elevator?" He follows Leon's lead, hopping over the side of the basket, leaning against it and crossing his arms as he starts to pull them up.

"How did you figure all of this out? You said your friends helped you... Why did they not spend more time trying to figure out how to fix you instead of helping you adapt to this mayhem?"

"It ain't pretty but it works," Leon snips back, biceps flexing as he pulls the rope down, hand over hand.

"And they are, as much as they can. But I had to figure out how to live in the meantime, while we find a cure. If we find one."

Zeno watches Leon's arms as they make their ascent. Each flex of his bicep making him a little hotter under the collar. He looks away, glancing at a non-existent watch, when he thinks Leon looks at him.

"How much longer? It's hot out here."

Victor had always been taller than Zeno, but now he towered over him like a mountain. His dark lips cracked into a wicked grin as he grabbed the miniature Zeno and held him up to inspect him.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't feed you to my alligator. She does love human flesh..."

... Well for one... look how adorable i am now.

Victor looked unconvinced, but he didn't bring him to the illicit alligator enclosure quite yet.

"'Adorable' is subjective. I wonder if your credit cards shrank as well..." He held Zeno upside-down and began to shake him up and down.

Hey.. hey wait... VICTOR.

He is flipped upside down and shaken. The sickening feeling rises in his stomach. Oh god... hes going to vomit.

"Hmph... Nothing." Victor was about to toss him aside, but then he thought better of it, placing the tiny Zeno on his desk before sitting down. His initial cruelty seemed to have been replaced by curiosity for now.

"So, what happened? How did you end up this way? Did you lose a bet? Was it one of those faceless strangers? One of them gave me a different body once. I never thought I'd enjoy the change in reproductive organs, but I soon discovered otherwise..."

Zeno takes a seat on a stapler, trying to settle his stomach. He takes out a tiny cigarette, placing it between his lips before lighting it with his tiny lighter.

"Yes... it appears one of the anons wanted to see me suffer. Unfortunately for them, even being small I am still thriving. It seems as though I have either been cloned, or there was some sort of break in the time stream as I exist simultaneously alongside my much taller self."

He takes a drag off his cigarette before continuing, "how much do you know about the laws of physics? Is such a thing even possible?"

There was, to Victor's chagrin, indeed something very cute about watching the miniature Zeno perch himself on a stapler. Victor ignored this for now, only to become fascinated by the tiny cigarette and the even smaller lighter.

"Wonderful, there are more of you now..." He grumbled, doing a pretty good job of sounding annoyed. "Physics is not my area of expertise, but from my understanding there is, at the very least, a fringe group that believes in the existence of multiple universes which continually splinter off according to every decision made by us, a fractal of sorts. They also believe that occasionally, these separate universes can intersect. Some ascribe the so-called Mandela Effect to this phenomenon, when we both know that the Mandela Effect is simply a phrase for people who don't want to admit that they were wrong about something trivial."

Victor didn't know if the theory of the multiverse held much water, but if it did, then it would explain the strange feeling of presque vu that he felt regarding Elpis, that he almost knew what was at the end of their path, and that it almost certainly terminated in their destruction. This, he didn't dare disclose to anyone. His master's work would inevitably require some sacrifice, after all...

"Do you believe yourself to be a byproduct of some other universe?"

"I have no idea..." he sighs. "I do not understand how i can exist, he can exist, and yet I have memories of dying, and also of killing Leon Kennedy. I do not have a better explanation. Do you?"

Victor leaned forward in his seat, genuinely interested in what Zeno had to say, for once. After giving it some thought, he decided to confide in this tiny Zeno his own experiences and memories... if they could be called such.

"It's very strange... I remember dying as well—two times by that bastard's hand. I vaguely remember obtaining Elpis as well, though the details elude me. I don't believe in premonitions, but I'm afraid that we're heading toward a very catastrophic conclusion, and I don't know if we can take steps to avoid it. Perhaps for now, the most important thing we can do to safeguard our mission is to destroy every iteration of Mr. Kennedy, or at least to wait for some of them to die of Raccoon City Syndrome."

Zeno clears his throat.

"Well... there might be a bit of a snag in your plan to destroy every iteration of Kennedy."

He looks away sheepishly. Does he tell Gideon that he is romantically intertwined with one of the iterations? Perhaps even the one who will end up killing him? Or that he has been keeping that very same one alive through the suppressants that Gideon had created to help Zeno's not progress? He had stabilized, so there was no need to inject himself further, but Leon needed it and Zeno wasnt about to lose him.

Victor gave a short, bitter laugh as he reached over mini-Zeno for his bottle of cognac and a crystal tumbler.

"A snag? Where Kennedy is involved? Why am I not surprised? And what could this snag possibly be?"

Zeno huffs begrudgingly.

"There is perhaps a chance that I am... or have begun a romantic entanglement with one of them..."

He crosses his leg over the other one, smoking his tiny cigarette.

Victor nearly dropped the bottle of cognac as he was pouring. His eyes went wide beneath his visor, and then they narrowed dangerously as he set aside the bottle, inhaled, sighed deeply, and then cracked his neck.

The silence dragged on as he took a sip, opened his humidor, and clipped a cigar.

"I would like you to repeat yourself," he said. "I don't think that I heard you correctly."

"You did, I assure you."

Zeno acts like he didnt just say something that would completely derail all of their work to locate Elpis.

"He will not get in the way. I will make sure of it."

Victor lit his cigar calmly, taking a drag before suddenly lifting Zeno off of the stapler and up to face-level. He exhaled in his face, the noxious cigar smoke curling out of his mouth as if he were some great old dragon.

"You imbecile," he snarled. "You moronic little nuisance!" He stood up from his desk, Zeno firmly in his grasp as he stormed downstairs. "Kennedy of all people? And how do you plan to ensure that your beloved personified police dog doesn't interfere with our plans?!"

"I do not believe that you will actually enjoy my plan, Victor. You do not get to call me names. You have a child that you adopted!" He beats on Victor's hand to try to get him to let him go.

Victor ignored his feeble attempts to break free as he entered a storage room and closed the door behind him, pulling a string to light the bare bulb above them.

"Oh, don't even bring Jude into this!" He said, grabbing a large, empty plastic jar and holding it under one arm while he unscrewed it. "I'm not the one who's being fucked by the enemy, you short-sighted fool!"

He tossed Zeno inside the jar, and he glared down at him, waiting for the inevitable retort.

"Oh I am bringing 'Jude' into this. Fo not call me short-sighted when you also have your distractions!"

He lands in the jar, falling on his ass before popping back up quickly. He crouches, intending on using his strength to jump out.

"And for the record- I'm fucking him! That's right, your ex-bottom is actually a fucking top!"

Victor slammed the lid down with a snarl of frustration, screwing it shut.

"How dare you imply that I would have anything to do with that boorish, self-righteous prick!" He gave the jar a good shake, just to watch Zeno bounce off of the sides.

"What do you even see in him?!"

Outside in the hallway, one of the new, living custodians was about to open the door to find some window spray. He heard Victor shouting at somebody though, so he stopped and listened with his ear pressed to the door.

"I was talking about myself, you nitwit!" Zeno settles himself after ricocheting around the jar.

He can feel vomit rising in his esophagus and does his best to keep it down.

"I don't know! He gets that I am more than just a Wesker clone! Maybe thats important to me! Unlike you who just sees me as some failed experiment, he sees me as a person!"

Victor dragged a hand down his face and growled. "You fucking moron! I can't believe that you'd fall for his insipid nice-guy act! Don't come crying to me when you realize that he's been stringing you along this entire time."

There was no way that it could be anything other than some elaborate plot to undermine their objectives, and the fact that Zeno fell for this bullshit was, frankly, disappointing at best.

"Leon? Have you lost your mind? See a goddamned therapist if you're having an identity crisis, you glorified accountant! Have you forgotten everything that's at stake for your organization?"

The custodian's eyes widened. Who the hell was fucking the only man who was on the receptionist's hit list, and why was the other person sucking helium at a time like this?

The nurses were going to eat this shit up, either way...

"Its not an act, Victor! He cares about me. He..." he stops. He knows trying to convince Gideon that Leon's intentions are true is a frivolous act. Still, some part of him wants him to understand.

"He hasn't even asked what we are up to or what I am doing when hes away... He tried to get me to leave the Connections, but you know how that goes. You can't just leave. We make it work despite him trying to undermine the Connections' work."

He bangs on the wall of the jar. "I am going to run out of oxygen in here if you at least do not give me air holes you moron!"

"Listen to yourself!" Victor spat. "You sound like a lovestruck teenager, not a ruthless crook..."

He shook his head, looking around for a knife or a screwdriver to punch a few air holes into the lid with, but then it occurred to him that Zeno might have a cellphone with him. The last thing he needed was for his business partner's endlessly destructive new boyfriend to come crashing in and shoot the care center up just to play hero to this pint-sized fool.

The custodian heard movement, and he cleared off just as Victor kicked the door open. He watched from behind a corner as the director skulked down the hall with a plastic jar containing what looked like an off-brand Ken doll. Had... Had he been talking to the doll? The custodian was so confused. How was he going to explain any of this to Drew or Areej without sounding like he'd been huffing paint?

Victor stomped outside into the garden, gave the jar one last firm shake, and then he unscrewed the lid and dumped Zeno into the foliage.

"Off with you, we're done discussing this. I never thought that anything you'd do would be significant enough to disappoint me, but here we are... I hope a stray cat finds you!"

"I am not some love-struck teenager! I am a grown man capable of making my own decisions. If you had enough of a heart you would see that I get lonely sometimes. I can't keep coming to the care center to be around you. You suck the life out of me!"

He lands undignified into a bush. He climbs out as best as he can, yelling to get Gideon's attention.

"Victor.... if you tell anyone at Connections about this I will have your head! Do you hear me?" He pulls out a tiny version of Redemption and aims it at him. "I may be small, but i am still very accurate. Youve seen it yourself. Wonder how much damage a small rifle bullet would do if it hits you in the head. I bet it would ricochet enough in there to cause some serious damage."

Victor pressed a hand to his chest, obviously aggrieved by what Zeno said. Of course he had a heart! Whatever else would possess him to raise an infant?

Out of the corner of his eye, Victor noticed a stray cat. His gardeners humored the damned thing all the time, leaving it open cans of wet food where they thought he couldn't see them. Now, it was picking through the impatiens and geraniums. It stopped when it noticed Zeno.

Instead of dignifying Zeno's threats with a response, or simply walking out of range of the comically tiny gun, Victor watched as the creature's pupils dilated and as its ears pulled back while it positioned itself for the kill.

"Has anyone ever told you what a blowhard you are?" He asked, smiling.

"Blowhard?"

It is then that he notices the cat sneaking up on him. He bolts out of the way at the last possible second, narrowly avoiding the cat's lunge. He moves quickly again, this time clinging to Victor's pant leg.

"Victor, you are not leaving me out here with this cat! It will eat me!"

Victor plucked Zeno off of his pant leg with an expression that managed to blend amusement and disdain.

"I fail to see the problem with that," he said, dangling him over the ground by the back of his suit jacket. "The little freeloader is finally making itself useful!"

The cat batted at the air mere millimeters from Zeno's feet. Victor was laughing maniacally.

"VICTOR!" He screams, "Victor, what do you want from me?" He flails about, trying to keep the cat from swatting him. He can feel his tiny coat start to fail him, his arms slowly slipping free.

"Victor!"

Victor honestly didn't know how to answer that in the heat of the moment, but it did merit some thought, didn't it?

He tapped his lips with his finger. "Hmm... A good question. I suppose it's too much to ask that you reconsider your little fling and gain some common sense... However you intend to prevent him from interfering most likely won't work."

He knew, didn't he? Or had he not experienced it yet? Those were questions for later.

"He'll turn on you like the dog that he is."

Zeno looks up at Gideon, "Yes... its too much. I won't leave him. We've... Victor, he loves me. And I him. You remember love dont you?"

He tries to play on Victor's heartstrings. He knows Gideon used to be more human prior to his nemesis injection. He has to have somewhere in his past where he was in love at one point.

"He won't turn on me. He's happy with me. He has yet to stop me from my plans with Elpis. He won't Victor." He pleads to him. "He... he wouldn't turn on me. Its not a fling."

The silence dragged on as he took a sip, opened his humidor, and clipped a cigar.

"I would like you to repeat yourself," he said. "I don't think that I heard you correctly."

"You did, I assure you."

Zeno acts like he didnt just say something that would completely derail all of their work to locate Elpis.

"He will not get in the way. I will make sure of it."

Victor had always been taller than Zeno, but now he towered over him like a mountain. His dark lips cracked into a wicked grin as he grabbed the miniature Zeno and held him up to inspect him.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't feed you to my alligator. She does love human flesh..."

Victor looked unconvinced, but he didn't bring him to the illicit alligator enclosure quite yet.

"'Adorable' is subjective. I wonder if your credit cards shrank as well..." He held Zeno upside-down and began to shake him up and down.

Hey.. hey wait... VICTOR.

He is flipped upside down and shaken. The sickening feeling rises in his stomach. Oh god... hes going to vomit.

Zeno takes a seat on a stapler, trying to settle his stomach. He takes out a tiny cigarette, placing it between his lips before lighting it with his tiny lighter.

He takes a drag off his cigarette before continuing, "how much do you know about the laws of physics? Is such a thing even possible?"

"Do you believe yourself to be a byproduct of some other universe?"

"I have no idea..." he sighs. "I do not understand how i can exist, he can exist, and yet I have memories of dying, and also of killing Leon Kennedy. I do not have a better explanation. Do you?"

Zeno clears his throat.

"Well... there might be a bit of a snag in your plan to destroy every iteration of Kennedy."

Victor gave a short, bitter laugh as he reached over mini-Zeno for his bottle of cognac and a crystal tumbler.

"A snag? Where Kennedy is involved? Why am I not surprised? And what could this snag possibly be?"
