Hi! I'm mistyfallenpetals (formally strawberries-n-magic). I can simply be referred to as Misty. I go by she/her pronouns, I'm 21, and I've been inconsistently practicing witchcraft since I was 14. I've been pretty distant from my craft for a while and I've really missed it, so I felt this blog needed a revamp along with my craft. I consider myself an omnist witch and I'm most well practiced in glamour magic and reading tarot. I'm also interested in veiling, Catholic folk magic, runes, dreams, lunar magic, tinctures/potions/oils, sea magic, and hedge witchery. My interests stretch far beyond that but I would genuinely be here all day if I went through them all.
Non-witchy interests primarily include reading and writing. I love learning about anything history, religion, or environmental science related. I love collecting hobbies though so sometimes I also like to sew, draw, paint, crochet, play piano, play video games, etc etc. If I had space for a garden I'd absolutely be all over that. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science! Not sure what I'm doing with it yet but right now I'm happily working on my writing. I would love to get something published someday, especially in the eco-horror genre.
In the past I've mostly used this blog just to reblog things I liked or witchy posts I wanted to save for later. This time around I hope to be a little more involved :)
A brief explanation of my beliefs:
As I mentioned, I consider myself an omnist, but not every omnist thinks about things the same way so I thought I'd share my own beliefs. I've gone through a lot of phases. I've never been able to maintain devotion to any particular religion or deity/deities. I've always been drifting, but I have found divinity everywhere I've looked. I believe every deity, monotheistic and polytheistic, are "reflections" or "aspects" of the same divinity (often referred to as the universe, source, Spirit, or God). For example, the Christian God is one reflection of this overarching divinity, and the Hellenistic pantheon are reflections of various aspects of this overarching divinity. While I do hope to find something that's right for me, I do not feel so lost drifting. That is to say that I will not participate in any practice or belief that I know is closed, but I do acknowledge their validity and divinity as well.
DNI: misogynists, racists, homophobes, transphobes, nazis, pedophiles, AI supporters -- really anyone with disrespectful or hateful beliefs. Just don't be evil and we're good.
Even MORE tangentially, I don't mean to imply that if a practice is chores then it disappears into a life of mundanity. I think it's very much the opposite.
As context everyone in my life knows about my practice, I have a large stag skull altar right by my desk, I've got my ✨witchy things✨ everywhere. And they're not cute witchy, either. Some of it looks, idk... crunchy? So I am aware I'm in a place of privilege in that I do not have to hide my practice.
And I think all of my witchy chores, with the possible exception of some of the direct 1:1 house cleaning/house cleansing stuff, look very witchy in a way that is very noticeable and you can't easily explain away.
Like dancing in front of candles. Wearing a face veil and reading playing cards. Sitting and rocking in front of candles. Whispering into pots of stuff on the stove for long periods of time while I stir it. Reciting incantations and hymns into objects held so close to my lips that they get wet with my breath. Moving energy in a way that looks like body spasms. Hands twitching as they contact invisible things in the air.
You know. Witchy stuff!
It's not mundane. It doesn't look like housekeeping.
It's more like lifekeeping. Pathkeeping. It's chores, but it's not mundane chores. And I don't think you have to actually like, be able to keep your room clean for long periods of time to successfully maintain a practice.

Veiling has always interested me and personally I do minimal veiling/hidden veils but I think veiling is a good thing for witches to know and understand.
What is Veiling?
Veiling is the act of covering your head or hair with a scarf, hat, hood, or veil for spiritual, magical, or energetic reasons.
Why Witches Veil
1. Protection
Hair as discovered in my last post is often considered a "psychic antenna". Veiling dampens how much energy you pick up from people and places.
It acts like an energetic shield or filter, blocking unwanted vibes, spirits, or emotions gunk from others.
2. Containment of Power
When doing spell work, veiling can "hold" your energy in, like keeping heat inside a cauldron.
Helps prevent energy leaks when you're tired, depleted, or feeling vulnerable.
3. Privacy & Mystery
Veiling cloaks your aura so others can't read you easily.
Creates a liminal, sacred space for yourself even in public.
4. Sacred Alignment
Some witches veil during rituals, prayer, or devotional work to signal entering a sacred state.
Different colors or fabrics can honor specific deities or elements.
5. Transition or Healing
After a haircut, illness, or big life change, veiling can help protect your crown while you regrow or recalibrate your energy.
How to Veil
You can choose everything about this intentionally from material, color magic, knot magic, and charming it.
Material: example: cotton for grounding, silk for glamour, wool for protection, lace for subtle shielding
Color Magic: You can refer to this post. Or if you have a specific meaning to you you can go with your own color correspondence for a specific color you want to convey, you can do that.
Knot Magic: Tie your veil with intention. You can use numerology, for number of knots you tie your veil with. (example: 3 knots for protection)
Charm It: Sew or pin charms, beads, or herbs into the veil, you can even do tiny sachets, protective sigils, or even embroidered symbols.

Full Coverage: Scarf completely covering hair and crown
Partial Coverage: Bandana, head wrap, half scarf
Symbolic Veiling: Hats, beanies, or headbands
Hidden Veils: A slip of fabric or ribbon under your hair, scrunchie or hair tie
Veiling Extras
Cleanse Your Veils: Smoke, salt, sunlight, moonlight, etc. to clear energies.
Dedicate Each Veil: Assign one for protection, one for ritual, one for daily wear, etc.
Glamour Magic: Veiling isn't always about hiding, you can also enchant your veil to attract or radiate certain energies.
Lately I have been interested in love, beauty, and glamour magic, so because of that I have been incorporating hair magic (mostly because I have so much hair I don't know what to do with). I feel like practicing with hair is so underrated because there is so much you can do with it.
Hair magic is one of the most ancient forms of witchcraft across cultures and goes further than most realize. Hair is seen as a living extension of the self, it carries your essence, memories, and vitality. Because hair holds such magic, witches and healers across the world have always worked with it for spell work, protection, glamour, and control.
Why Hair Is Powerful
Hair grows directly from your body and continues to hold energy even after it's cut. That's why you are able to use it in poppets, bindings, or love charms.
Many traditions also view long hair as a spiritual "antenna", helping you connect to divine or for psychic forces.
Hairstyles also reflect how you project your energy and identity. Changing your hair alters how others perceive you and how you radiate your magic.
It is also a symbol of control. Whoever has your hair can influence you magically, which is why witches should keep their own shed strands hidden.
Magical Practices With Hair
1. Sympathetic Magic
Hair in poppets or dolls links the spell directly to the person.
Used for love charms, bindings, or healing spells.
Example: A lock of hair tied with red thread in a sachet for passion magic.
2. Ritual Cutting
Cutting hair - cutting cords, cycles, or burdens.
Cut hair during specific moon phases for added power. (or if you are an astrology witch you probably know more favorable times to cut hair you're hair, like I heard to cut your hair when Venus is in Taurus or Libra, but idk)
3. Hair as a Offering
There are many instances that witches leave hair at crossroads, rivers, or shrines as a gift to spirits, deities, or ancestors/
On the flip side, if you tell any of those entities how someone has wronged you and feed them your targets name and their hair and let them handle the rest.
4. Hair as Protection
Braiding hair with intention weaves protective knots.
In Slavic and Norse lore, mothers braided their children's hair to shield them from evil.
Some witches wear hair tucked or veiled to cloak their energy.
5. Hair Washing / Anointing
Washing hair can be ritual cleansing.
Oiling or anointing hair with rosemary, lavender, or rose is a glamour spell.
Shampooing at certain moon phases can align with growth cycles with magic.

How you style your hair can have an impact. Maybe you want to style it for a specific meaning.

Loose Hair (down): freedom, raw power, natural intuition
Braids or Plaits: weaving intentions, protection, containment of energy

Big or Voluminous Hair: power, presence, magnetism
Half Up, Half Down: balance, liminality, bridging two worlds
hair is symbolically treated as an extension of life force, identity, and personal boundary. in modern witchcraft and intuitive practice, it's less about superstition and more about intentional care, energetic boundary setting, and symbolic reinforcement of safety and self-worth.

🗓️ protection through consistency/ritual: routine! consistent care (washing schedule, hydration, detangling gently, sleep protection, etc) creates a sense of safety in the body - which reduces stress-related shedding and breakage.
