La Vie D’Adele / Blue Is The Warmest Color - Soundtrack/OST
When lights dim the color of its solitude, it is desolated. #postchristmasloneliness #holidayperks
My midweek playlist
Enjoy.
"Time heals everything, makes life, makes a fire The flames of our souls I'm not cold anymore, I've got life My soul reincarnates The world I will paint" -Sigur Rós' Illgresi (Weeds) "Go east on Sunrise Highway, Turn left at Carman's Avenue, Go right at the first stoplight, And I'll be outside waiting for you, Oh, I'll be waiting for you" - Straylight Run's Your Name Here (Sunrise Highway) "And if it's over, Just remember what I told you, It was bound to happen so just... Keep moving on, There are no perfect endings" -Straylight Run's The Perfect Ending "Pull me in Drown my fear Could you wait another day, knowing that Ill come back Ill come back no fear" - Sounds Under Radio's All You Wanted "You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here" -Sarah Mclachlan's Arms of an Angel "Don't know if our fate's already sealed this day's a spinning circus on a wheel I'm ill with the thought of your kiss coffee-laced, intoxicating on her lips" -A Fine Frenzy's Ashes and Wine "I believe in nothing, Not the end and not the start I believe in nothing, Not the earth and not the stars I believe in nothing, Not the day and not the dark I believe in nothing, But the beating of our hearts" -30 Seconds To Mars' 100 Suns "So then I move my hand up from down by my side It's shakin', my life is crashin' before my eyes Turn the palm of my hand up to face the skies Touch the bottom of her chin and let out a sigh 'Cause I can't imagine my life without you and me " -The Streets' Dry Your Eyes "And I'm in the freeway The lights are lost in your eyes Things have been said I'm lost in my head It's time to go home" -Hale's Tollgate "No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white Just our hands clasped so tight Waiting for the hint of a spark If heaven and hell decide That they both are satisfied Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs" -Death Cab For Cutie's I Will Follow You Into The Dark

Let’s try to apply linguistics to further understand the aforementioned expressions used by many Filipinos today.
1) Pabili ng Colgate, yung Close-Up. Though the speaker is clearly confused, this one is what we call Coinage. Take for example band-aid, kleenex, xerox, nylon and zipper among others. We use them to refer to the product.
5) May tonsil ako. Tonsillitis is the infection of the tonsils. So this one is really wrong right here.
9) Pwedeng makuha number mo? Translated in English, “Can I get your number?” Now, is there anything wrong with this expression? Basically nothing. Number here refers to your cellphone number. Other countries use ‘digits’.
2), 3), 4), 6), 7) I would say don’t fall too much into the Vice-Ganda craze. We have what we call Communicative Competence which says that speakers should have more than the knowledge of grammar in order to communicate effectively. And what is this specifically? Pragmatics. It is the knowledge of how the language is used in communication situations. These are the things you need to consider: 1) Context of utterance. When, where, how the expression was said. 2) The goals of the speaker. and 3) The general principles of communication.
So the next time we hear people say things similar to these, let’s check first before branding them as errors. Who knows it’s not an error, but it’s just plain pedantry.

Watching a youtube video on #ColtonDixon’s elimination on AI, I felt his heart and soul when he knelt down and sang Everything. He looked above and sought for his Everything. Clearly, he was grateful to his GOD who have been giving him grace and resilience all through these years. He was cut last season and didn’t make it through. This year he had no plans of auditioning yet the judges urged him to do so. He was never in the bottom 3 until a bad romance stopped his idol journey. Winning the title wasn’t really for him. I believe he was on the show not to win but to show how God is his everything. Seeing him leaving the show has a poignant ache in my heart. I would miss a performer who always gives glory to his savior. I know its not the end of his journey. As what his fans call him, he is The Messenger.

Restless to see Restless
I have always been a fan of Gus Van Sant since I watched his Cannes masterpiece - Elephant. So, seeing a pirated DVD of his art in a local SM stall is a relief from a torrent downloaded 116hour ETA. The DVD costs P60.00. Without any hesitation, whether the copy is "Blu Ray" or "Sine-copy", I bought it.
Here is the DVD cover of that film.
Synopsis: The story of a terminally ill teenage girl who falls for a boy who likes to attend funerals and their encounters with the ghost of a Japanese kamikaze pilot from WWII.
Sounds interesting right? However, after reading some critics and reviews, I was discouraged after reading the following lines, "However, just because his name is Gus Van Sant does not mean every movie he makes will be original and different; Restless is not. It is just plain vanilla and a waste of some major talent."
My excitement turned low.
I'm still going to give this film a try. I might like the story, perhaps. :)

—Albert Camus
I can never read all the books I want; I can never be all the people I want and live all the lives I want. I can never train myself in all the skills I want. And why do I want? I want to live and feel all the shades, tones and variations of mental and physical experience possible in life. And I am horribly limited.
