I know I’ve been generally kind of dead on Tumblr, but with the “think of the children!” pearl-clutching they’ve been doing (what was wrong with age verification???), I’m probably going to spend even less time on this website. I don’t want to delete my blog entirely because I want to maintain links to certain things, but... yeah if you want to keep in touch on some other platform, LMK.
So the banners from earlier are gone. I don’t know if that means all of the posts were reviewed or they’re just hiding them now????

For your own posts, they’re sending emails if the appeal succeeded, but not notifying within the site itself. I’m still seeing banners on some reblogs I couldn’t appeal.
That’d explain why I wasn’t notified; I have mail turned off for my sideblogs.

Flagged reblogs in my most recent 12 pages:
An LGBTQ game zine Kickstarter, which involved an image of a man eating a popsicle in his underwear
A person with a newborn baby (no nipples, “female-presenting” or otherwise!)
An anatomy tutorial that used naked people because that’s how anatomy works
I can appeal none of these as I’m not OP, but… seriously? This is what concerns Tumblr?

Their algorithm just straight up doesn’t work. Multiple pieces of my art of fully clothed characters in neutral poses (including some neck-up portraits) have gotten flagged.
On the next 12 pages there were two items flagged: a woman standing around in hijab and anti-suicide imagery. Sure would be nice if they’d give us a list so we know what random things we’re going to lose without digging all the way through the archives.

I’m pretty sure it’s just supposed to be the things they listed in their post, they’re just that bad at identifying them.
Oh, totally. I’m just concerned something I’d like to keep will be misinterpreted as having a butt in it and I won’t know I’ve lost it until it’s too late...
LOL OMFG I made a post on my fandom blog explaining that a certain ship was consanguineous and it got flagged as “adult content.” It’s literally just a picture of a family tree with an explanation! To alert people that they might accidentally be shipping first cousins!
A+, Tumblr. You saved us all from the big bad... children’s cartoon meta.

it’s native american heritage month in the us, and there’s been a lot abt finding out abt and researching the ppl who’s land you’re occupying, which is rly important, but how abt you take the next step and buy some indigenous-made products?
here is the link to beyond buckskin’s buy native list, which lists companies and etsy stores owned by indigenous ppl on turtle island.
it’s great to learn abt the past and all, but it’s incredibly important that you also make sure to support living indigenous ppl, not just during november, but every other month of the year as well.

Developmentally disabled adults are adults.
They are physically adults.
They are mentally adults.
Some specific DD adult doesn’t meet an arbitrary standard you’ve imposed for “adult” behavior/experience? Guess what, they’re still an adult.
Developmentally disabled people are the age they are. An 81-year-old DD person is mentally and physically 81. A 23-year-old DD person is mentally and physically 23.
So if they’ve hit the age at which their culture recognizes adulthood (ex: 18 in the US), they’re an adult!
Sincerely,
a developmentally disabled adult who is sick of being treated like a small child by patronizing non-DD people
P.S. Oh, and your DD family member, friend, or acquaintance? Not exempt from this. Still their actual age.
A question I got about this post recently, which I received permission to share:
Should people who might take advantage of a person for their disability be held accountable for taking advantage, or should it not be an issue because the DD person is an adult?
My answer:
Some developmentally disabled people are particularly susceptible to deception. If someone takes advantage of that, it is wrong, but I don't see that it's particularly different from the neurotypical people who buy losing lottery tickets every week, always expecting the next one to be the big winner.
Every person can be fooled some way or another, and some people are easier to fool than others. It's not okay to take advantage of someone just because they're gullible, disabled or not.
Nonbinary and/or intersex people! I need you for a NSFW survey...

This is so relatable, I’m dying.
LOUDER FOR THOSE IN THE BACK
Woman, shocked: In this unfair world, the vote is one thing that you and a conglomerate son have in common. You threw that away?
Kim Gyu Hwan: There has to be a person I want to vote for.
Woman: If there’s no one good, then choose the lesser evil. That way the most evil won’t win.
Kim: The one who isn’t so bad is still a bad person. Why would I do that?
Woman: Mr. Kim Gyu Hwan. Engrave this saying of Plato on your mind. “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”
Been doing these art improvement redraws of my OC, Green 210, for four years now! technically three, the first year was just a draw…
I’ve gotten better at judging how much of the canvas to use – all of these pictures are 2:3, but the 2016 picture is 4388 px wide (diminishing returns for this level of detail!), the 2017 picture is 552 px wide (cramped!), and the 2015 and 2018 pictures are 1280 px wide. The 2018 version uses space much more efficiently.
This year I continued the tradition of including more of Green in the image than the previous year – now they have a waist! I changed their proportions because while an alien teenager can technically look however, I do need to signpost their age for the human audience. I tweaked some other things to keep the alien feel. Also, their new hairstyle is WAY easier to draw.

So I got fired
Me, my mum, partner, and our two cats moved house recently, and on the day we moved I got a call from work saying I was being let go.
Our first month of rents all paid and my dad said he’d be able to provide some help, but obviously that’s a temporary measure.
Chances are good it’s gonna take me a while to find a new job that’ll pay enough to cover my half of the rent, so in the meantime any donations of any size would mean the world to us.
Thank you so much, love and peace!
