Your Guide to an Amazing Workspace at Home
If you’re one of the lucky ones to be remotely working since the pandemic (or maybe even before then), it’s safe to assume that you now have amazing work from home set-ups. And I’m sure those new to this arrangement already have the basics: a table, a chair, and your equipment.
Still, there’s no doubt that it does wonders when you have a workspace that is not only functional but also beneficial to your mood while working at home.
Just a disclaimer, having an amazing workspace doesn’t really mean that you have to spend a lot of money, or follow aesthetic trends! I, for one, am a remote worker myself, and in this guide, a virtual assistant rates which elements you should consider for your set-up.
Starting with the wallpaper for your study or home office, the design actually has an impact on our senses. Depending on the color or pattern, it can be relaxing or distracting. Using an energizing and uplifting color like yellow, or a wall art to inspire your creativity is a fresh start. Other colors also give different effects, such as blue for focus, and green is said to give a stress-relieving effect.
Having a well-lit workspace is also undeniably helpful to increasing your productivity. Not having proper lighting can give you eye strain, headache, and decrease your energy. May it be natural light, or just good lighting, will help keep you alert, and boost your concentration.
Keeping a plant in your home office not only makes the place look good, but also makes us feel good! Indoor plants are known to improve mental health, add moisture to the air and keep it cleaner, and just overall helps people feel more calm and relaxed.
Maintaining a clean desk also makes the list of ways to make an amazing workspace. You’ll be surprised at how uplifting it is to work in a clutter-free desk, which can start by just putting away less frequently used items.
Buying an ergonomic chair is indeed a wise investment especially when remote workers spend a lot of time sitting down, but is not an option available for everyone. Simply using a comfortable chair and practicing a neutral posture helps make sure that you don’t get backache problems that can affect your productivity.
There are many other ways to make your home office set-ups amazing by your standards, but I hope these suggestions help you make the most of what is readily available to most of us.
Keep hustling!
