People on this site will ship a character who has only canonically been romantically involved with people of the opposite sex with a character of the same sex because “their sexuality has not been confirmed” or “it’s just fiction” but then clutch their pearls when you ship a character who has only canonically been romantically involved with people of the same sex with a character of the opposite sex because “it’s homophobic”.

Like you’re either for shipping or you’re not. It cannot only be fuck canon when you want it to be. Also, bisexual people exist and it’s very weird how y’all always discard bisexuality as either a phase or something that isn’t real in your world. So many shippers unironically think you can either be strictly straight or gay lol.

You want to make shipping a form of activism while belittling and ignoring the sexuality of an entire group of people. You call canonically bisexual characters gay because you either fetishize gayness or biphobic or both. You cannot have it both ways. Nor should you because treating shipping like activism is embarrassing to begin with.
