Soundtrack of a Life

Every witch and wizard has a story, and sometimes words alone aren't quite enough to tell it. Some feelings are better captured in a melody, a lyric, or a song that somehow seems to understand them perfectly.

This week's character task invites you to create a soundtrack inspired by your muse. Choose 5–10 songs that remind you of your character, whether they reflect their personality, relationships, history, fears, ambitions, or simply the way they move through the world.

Your playlist can take any form you like! Simply list your chosen tracks in a post, create and link a playlist through Spotify or YouTube Music, make a graphic to accompany it, or get as creative with the format as you'd like.

There are no right or wrong choices, and the songs don't need to fit the time period of the roleplay. All we ask is that they feel like your character and tell us a little something about them along the way.

When you've finished, please post your playlist and tag it with #mrsmtask so everyone can easily browse and listen to each other's soundtracks. We can't wait to hear what your characters sound like!

NPCs other than Voldy & Dumbledore? Like would McGonagall or Aberforth or Figg or Argus Filch be playable? ALSO, banned FCs - not categories/ages/etc, any particular ones?

Characters such as McGonagall, Aberforth, Figg, Filch, etc. are NPCs too. Generally, characters who serve as major mentors, authority figures, or otherwise hold significant influence over the larger war and its opposing sides are kept non-playable for plot purposes.

As for faceclaims, we don’t currently have a list of specifically banned individuals. We generally don’t accept influencers, vloggers, or singers due to limited acting resources. However, faceclaims are considered on a case-by-case basis. If someone applied with an FC we felt may be problematic or unsuitable for the group, we’d simply reach out privately to discuss alternatives

Hello again. Do you have an ideas for a Snape FC? Really struggling lol. If Snape is 20 in 1980 the age limit is 30? Does the actor have to be 30 currently?

Our rules allow faceclaims to be within 10 years younger or older than the character. We’ve aged up the marauders and Severus slightly in our timeline so that they are 22 in 1980, meaning Severus’ faceclaim can currently be anywhere between 21 and 32 years old.

As for some suggestions, we’d be happy to help! Here are a few faceclaims we think could work: Kento Yamazaki, Louis Partridge, Simone Baldasseroni, Lorenzo Zurzolo, Aaron Dominguez, Charlie Gillespie, Corteon Moore, Israel Broussard and Sebastian de Souza.

We currently have Narcissa and Andromeda in play, with Michelle Randolph and Alycia Debnam-Carey as their faceclaims, so we only ask that his faceclaim can reasonably fit within the ethnicity already established on the Black side of the family. A mixed-race Sirius would absolutely be welcome!

Is this a canon timeline + real life date? Have Harry Potter & Neville Longbottom been born?

We do follow the real-life date and the current year is 1980, but our canon timeline is intentionally set one year behind. We’ve pushed major canon events forward by a year, including Harry and Neville’s births, so neither has been born yet. In our timeline, they will be born in 1981 instead. Hope that clears things up!

For the Bones brother, he’d have to be anywhere between 26 and 31, since he would be the middle sibling. Faceclaim suggestions for him could be: Alex MacNicoll, Carlos Cuevas, Áron Piper, Jaime Lorente, Oscar Casas, Pol Monen.
