Hi! Idk if you typically answer stuff like this but i figured I'd give it a shot. I live in a relatively large apartment, but we're pretty poor with no actual useful furniture. We use our piano bench as a tv stand, our couch is ripped, basically we're struggling. Do you have any tips on finding affordable furniture that actually looks decent? My bedroom is the only cohesive area in the apartment and it's pretty embarrassing to have that space looking so nice while the living room is a mess.

I highly highly recommend joining your local facebook Buy Nothing group!! I’ve found some amazing things on there.  Estate sales are also amazing - this weekend I found some crazy Victorian couches in pristine condition for $100 each, and you can regularly find modern/nice couches for $20-$50. I use this website to find them. Craigslist is also great too - it’s very easy to talk people down to a reasonable price on something. Also, if you have a nicer college in your area, drive around at the end of the quarter and especially the end of the year - students often leave out 9-month old couches and other furniture that they can’t bring home with them! My friend found a MacBook barely a year old outside of a UW frat house one time, lol.
