Kabuto follows behind Feng, looking at his surroundings, ultimately devoted to remembering landmarks upon the path - the bridge, any stumps or misshapen trees, curious stones and plants. It was a territory he was unfamiliar with, aside from his interactions with Feng, and the spy didn’t like to feel out of his element.
When they arrive at the naga’s home, Kabuto remains standing, unsure whether to sit at the table or not. For now, he continues to observe - the smell of incense, the presence of candles and crystals and ink.
“You have a lovely home,” he says, offering a smile. “Ah … What should I do, by the way? I’m assuming you need my palm again … ?”
✿ Feng gestured for him to sit at the cushion across from him with the low table between them, “Sit sit, so we can begin. And thank you, admittedly it’s difficult to clean with all the small...”
A small figurine seemed to leap out of it’s shelf and fall in his lap. The naga raised an eyebrow. “Okay okay I’ll not complain, I am very blessed for this setting...” He put the figurine back. “So testy, I swear. “
“Anyway, please sit, put your hands on the table, palms facing the sky, okay? This will be a process, and depending on what happens I may need some blood but I promise, no killing here.”

“ … I look out for myself plenty,” Kabuto says, albeit somewhat evasively. “It doesn’t change the fact that Orochimaru-sama is important to me. I don’t mind being in danger if it’s for their benefit, just as I’m more than willing to have a more intense procedure performed by you to ensure that they’ll be all right.”
As Feng speaks, Kabuto ties the talisman around his neck before proceeding to follow the naga.
“Thank you for your help. I - know I can sound forceful in my convictions, but I do just want to help my friend. You - can understand that, can’t you?”
✿ “Of course I understand, I’ve met people like you before.” Feng replied with a nod. Though he’d rather not speak of the fates of those before him. And it’d be foolish of him to think he would wind up the same, fate was anything but predictable at times. He could tell this one was different.
“Alright follow me...” He turned and led him down a winding path that seemed to get more narrow, deeper and deeper into the lush forest. The path narrowed until it was just a single stone after stone, across a stone bridge overgrown that covered a river, down a winding cliff and past some willow trees. A stone palace shaded by larger trees, seemingly underground but not.
“This is my home.” The naga explained leading him to a door and opening it, revealing a room heavily scented with incense. He took a seat behind his tea table, shrines behind him, scentless candles burned and the room was draped with silks and paper tailsmans. On the table in front of him, an array of crystals, blank papers, an ink well and brush.

“I - do not doubt my life was meant to be difficult. I can’t remember a thing before I was five or six, for starters. Born into war, raised by an adoptive mother who’s passed away, living as a spy … Only a fool would find this sort of life easy.”
Still, for the little bit of insight he’s just given Feng into his life, Kabuto is still on edge. Truly, it’s not his experiences, past, present, or future that occupies his mind - it’s Orochimaru’s.
They have a body transfer soon. Suppose something goes wrong?
“ … Yes. I’m positive I want an answer. I would never do anything to hurt them, and I need to know if someone else is going to.”
✿ Feng blinked. “A spy?” He thought for a moment. “That explains the confusing masks....” The naga shook his head. “Right of course you are worried something bad will happen to them but you know, if you keep doing this, you aren’t going to be able to look out for yourself.... but I get the feeling if I say that you’ll say that’s the point and that you put this person before yourself.”
He dug into a bag he was carrying and pulled out a small paper talisman, putting it in Kabuto’s hand. “Carry this with you, keep it safe, it will help protect you from bad luck, I’ll give it to you for free.”
“Now if you’re absolutely positive, which, I’m sure you are, follow me. I’ll take you to where I do the official palm readings...”
✿ A long day of travel, rather it had only been half a day with the sun high in the air, it’s rays beaming through gaps in the tree tops, had the wandering naga tired, and so he stopped, Not wanting to waste a second of his own time he decided to pull out a small tray assembled with a few paper talismans, most for good luck, others for protection against nefarious spirits.
A few shinobi passed him, some stopping along the way and by the time the last customer had gone by with no sign of any others, he began to pack up until he caught sight of two men, both in cloaks with red clouds. Feng narrowed his eyes and tilted his head to the side. “My.... it’s been some time since I’ve seen fellows with such an aura. And a Jashinist at that..” He shook his head and clicked his tongue. “Ill fated men indeed... still they’re rather interesting. “

◆ “ For the rest of my life? Oh my, my. “ Those words made him blush, placing a hand over his own cheek. He wondered if a certain blondie would stay with him for so long, his heart wished for an yes. This time, Kisame bowed as lower he could. “ I everything go as you told me, be sure you’re receiving a vip invite from my ceremony. Feng-san. I’ll try to. Thank you so much. “He laughed out loud, embarrassed, a man could dream couldn’t he?
✿ Feng blinked in surprise. “You want to invite me to your wedding ceremony? But you haven’t even proposed yet...” The naga looked rather surprised at the invitation. Then smiled, shortly after. “Everything will go as I told you if you are careful....” He paused briefly before touching Kisame’s hand again. “You need to be wary, do not propose on days that it rains, it will be bad luck for you, okay?”
