halloween costume planned yet xephie?
What is… ‘hallo-wen?’
xephossuggestions:
Xephos purses his lips embarrassedly and grabs a book from nearby.
Well, I have underlined the words I do not recognize in this manual, for starters… I do apologize, I know it will slow us down, but I would appreciate if you could… translate perhaps?
I’ll give it a shot!
He skims over the first page and then starts rattling off words, possibly a little too fast for Xephos to follow every single one, but Parv does point at parts and wires as he goes, linking illustrations to some of the words Xeph highlighted.
He nods, following along as much as he can. They quickly are able to assemble most of the sorting machine within the next few hours. Xephos beams at it proudly.
We… we did it! Parvis we’ve done it! There’s only a few more tidbits to add, but- wow! Thank you!
Parv grins and raises a hand for a high-five.
That was actually pretty fun! While I’d say we earned a break, I’m looking forward to doing more! That felt like the most productive I’ve been in a while. I’m so used to using magic to get everything done, but it is kind of cheaty! It’s nice to work with my hands for a change.
He stares at the raised hand unsurely, not recognizing the gesture. Was Parvis attempting a salute?
Erm, yeah! I’ve never quite understood magic anyways, I much prefer doing it this way anyways.
But yes, a break would be wonderful!
Parv lowers his hand. Oh, one of those types of different Xephoses. He closes the manual and wipes his hands off on his jeans.
So, what is there to eat around here if not Jaffas? I could go for a snack and a nap, to be honest.
Xephos nods and gestures with his thumb.
Oh, I’m sure there’s some food in the sleeping shed, and you can take a nap there as well.
He begins walking towards the door, leading them both outside.
Parvis grabs a couple other manuals to look at over lunch before following Xephos.
Question…Did you arrive here through one of those rifts I’ve heard about, and did the building come with you like this?
He frowns, eyebrows knitting.
I- I’m not sure. From my point of view this is how it’s always been, you guys are the new ones… however the other Xephos claims I’m some sort of rogue clone…
I really don’t know..
Well, it was worth a shot. I just wondered if other stuff got destroyed like my castle in all this.
He gestures to the world at large with one hand.
And don’t listen to him, he’s probably the clone. He winks.
Xephos can’t help but snicker at Parvis’ words and wink as he enters the sleep shed. He begins digging through the chests, finding some bread and dried beef, handing them to the other.
Here we are! Feel free to take a nap in any of the beds we have. I don’t..
He sighs.
I don’t think Honeydew or Lalna will be using them anytime soon.

I really don’t know..
This… is very strange.
He knocks on a door, panting heavily.
“Please, I need your help.”
Xephos opens the door, half-hoping it would be Honeydew or Lalna, but knowing in his heart neither of them would have the decency to knock.
Instead, there’s a small winged teenager on his doorstep, breathing hard and looking quite panicked.
He knits his eyebrows, shifting nervously.
I- how may I help you?
They quickly notice the dumbfounded and slightly disappointed expression on the alien man’s face, but decide to ignore it.
There- there’s someone- something, after me. I think you might be able to hide me. You don’t have to do anything, and I promise I can repay you somehow, I just need you to stay by my side for a few days.
His eyebrows raise with confusion, dozens of questions flitting around his mind. Questions like: What is after you? Why have I never seen you before? What is that glowing circle floating above your head? The first one to come out of his mouth, seeming as it is most pertinent is:
Who are you?

To The Factory! [Thread with Xephossuggestions]
*Parvis double checks his map and the coordinates that Xephos gave him. There’s a building up ahead that could be a Jaffa factory, but he isn’t completely certain until he gets closer. The coordinates match, so he puts his map away and hitches his backpack on his shoulders before starting to look for either Xephos or an entrance.*
Parvis!
He smiles and waves, approaching the adventurer.
Welcome, friend! I was afraid you’d gotten lost!
Parv smiles, but now realizes that this Xephos looks slightly different from the one he knew. In a way, it’s kind of a relief.
I almost did! The map I have doesn’t quite match up with the land. I think it’s either old or not from this place, either – might have carried it with me here. So, this is the Jaffa Factory! Do you give out free samples?
He gestures to the large marble and stone building before them.
Yep! This is the Jaffa Factory- or it will be, once I get it running. So no samples at the moment, I’m afraid.
However, I can show you around a bit if you would like!
Please do! Maybe I can help out! I haven’t worked with machinery in a while but it could be fun!
He grins excitedly. He does so love learning new things.
Xephos mirrors his grin. Meeting someone as enthusiastic as him that actually wanted to help? This was a dream come true!
That would be wonderful, friend! The door is just over here- Oh! And that little building over there is the sleep shed. I’m sure Honeydew wouldn’t mind if you borrowed one of his bed’s if you need to rest at any point.
Anyways, in we go!
He pushes the wooden door open and enters the factory, where hundreds of colored wires and machine parts lay on the floor. Machines whir and hum like a mechanical symphony. Xephos’ ears instantaneously press close to his head as if to try and block the sound.
Erm- mind your step, I’m afraid it’s a bit in disarray at the moment.
I will absolutely take you up on that offer for a nap later.
He follows Xephos in and… immediately stops short. He raises his voice slightly to be heard over the noise.
Whoa, what a mess – I mean, a work in progress! Is there an instruction manual for all this or is it a learn-as-you-go thing? I’ve read some machinery books but sometimes the wiring gets confusing. Thank goodness for pictures! I briefly worked in a dirt factory before but not a food factory! I didn’t deal with the machines but I imagine the equipment must be different. Production, sorting, packaging, all that. Which ones have you got working so far?
He falters, ears drooping slightly as he runs a hand through his dark locks.
It is certainly a mess, you do not have to sugarcoat it.
I’m trying to learn it as I go, but without Lalna to walk me through it or Honeydew to even simply just assist me in reading the manuals… it’s… difficult.
And none are working so far, I am currently trying to get sorting up and running so there isn’t quite as big of a mess- but as you can probably tell I have not made much progress.
Well, I can read manuals! Yeah, I can totally help you with this if you want, I haven’t got anything else going on with my castle destroyed, which will take way too much time to clean up – and this seems way more fun!
He starts looking around at the various parts on the floor – not that he can identify any of them right off the bat – and pokes a few nearby wires with the tip of his shoe.
Xephos purses his lips embarrassedly and grabs a book from nearby.
