Puh - yeah 😍
me, to auli’i cravalho when I found out she was cast in the movie for the mean girls musical:
You’re on thin ice Prime… you better come through with Season 2
the unbelievably high amount of emotions that were crammed into that look Carson and Greta exchange after their first kiss
you have Greta’s satisfaction at having been proven right when she correctly guessed Carson’s orientation, the teasing in her eyes, a lot of anticipation of Carson’s reaction now, but also you can tell that she’s holding back a lot, she gave a brief kiss that shattered Carson’s life and now she’s waiting for her to make the next move and she’s putting it all in her hands, and her smile is also addressed directly at Carson, letting her know that this is all okay, that she’s in safe hands, that she’s allowed to want this, that she can have it if only she gives it a chance. and the joy. she looks so, so happy.
meanwhile poor baby girl Carson is going through it, discovering that there’s a reason she’s only just pinpointed why she’s always felt like she didn’t belong, why she’s always felt like her life was a lie, why she ran away from her husband for no reason, that there’s a clear explanation why she felt so drawn to this woman she’d just met and trusted her so instantly, this entire new world is opening to her and it’s so overwhelming. in 1943 she has zero notion of what homosexuality means and suddenly everything clicks into place when that door opens to her all at once.
it’s an extremely intense moment that they executed perfectly and it works so, so well in just a few seconds’ time
I love it when shows add personal touches like this
I have always believed in you. Just hard for us to believe in the world.

Chanté Adams as Max Chapman
A League of Their Own (2022)
#she’s a goddamn star!!!!#listen she carries a storyline that is inherently challenging to plot out because it HAS to lag behind the pace of the ‘main’ narrative#she’s at the starting line with the other girls but isn’t allowed to compete so we watch her struggle to get back in the race#and it takes the whole damn season and from a storytelling perspective the stark contrast in forward motion between the two narratives#is a little jarring at times because Max is not living a Sports Movie Narrative; she is living a Dark Night of the Soul Narrative#and it’s a challenge to put those stories concurrently and line them up but the writers did so well#(it doesn’t hurt that the secret they unlocked for success was bridging everything with the Queer Experience)#anyways you also need a goddamn force to carry this Dark Night of the Soul Narrative and Chanté Adams delivers#so fucking winsome and charming and carries this whole thing#(but also shout out to Gbemisola Ikumelo because she’s a radiant joy and an absolute bright star on this show too) @drshebloggo
i need to see carson with this index card. I need it like i need air, please let me see carson holding this card, tracing the stained lipstick with the tip of her finger while she’s on her journey back for the new baseball season or while she’s waiting, maybe unsure, for greta to show, eagerly wishing to share all that she’s discovered about herself, the highs the lows, wanting to hear what greta’s been up to, if she’s seen jo, all of this swirling inside as she stares at the lipstick mark.
