Round 3 HAs come to an END :(
So Round 3 Has come to an END. It’s a bittersweet sending, I’ve really enjoyed this round, all the headaches, heartaches, joys, and experiences this round has brought me. But Green 5 must move on, we are heading back to Sacramento for a week of transition and will be gearing up for Virgina City Montana to work with the Montana Heritage Commission. I could be more excited for Round 4, but I’m not looking forward to the of this program. Bittersweet:(

My team will be working on the #lostcoasttrail check out these nature shot and see how beautiful the lost coast really is
Last Wednesday my team assisted in a pond clean up for the State Park in fort Bragg. What an Experience, we geared up in wet suits and removed 1500lbs of invasive species in the pond. I’m so proud of Green 5 and their accomplishments.
In the end, though, maybe we must all give up trying to pay back the people in this world who sustain our lives. In the end, maybe it's wiser to surrender before the miraculous scope of human generosity and to just keep saying thank you, forever and sincerely, for as long as we have voices.

Just a video of the trash coming in from the clean up operation last Monday
Over the past week Green 5 helped to remove more trash from the #humboldtredwoods some of the locations were so remote that we had to get a helicopter in to lift the trash out of the forest. The trash came from a old marijuana grow site that was polluting the Humboldt Redwoods. I never thought I'd be doing anything like this upon joining the program, yet here I am.
Just an exciting day working for the California State Parks North Coast Redwood Districts #green5 #wewinnin #madness
Heaven, Paradise, Madness, this place is incredible
Weeks 3 & 4 in the Humboldt Redwoods
Green 5 has accomplished so much and though we have 4 more week here in the Humboldt Redwoods, but they are jammed packed and are going to fly by. This whole experience has been incredible and I love it so much I never want to leave.
Week 3 & 4 have proven to be productive weeks. We removed invasive species, cleaned up trash throughout the State Park, worked on the lost coast trail and installed concrete slabs for bear boxes.
Green 5 Installed 26+ bear boxes, poured eight slabs of cement, and made many memories at Grizzly Creek Camp Ground in California
Round 3 Week 2
What an Exhausting week. Green 5 had an hour and a half commute making for an 11 hour day. We installed 26 bear boxes and poured 8 slabs of cement for trash and recycling bins. The bear boxes weighted about 265lbs, however, moving them was the easy part. We had to operate an machine call an ogger, this device was very heavy and kept getting stuck on rocks and roots. This job was intense but fun. Check out my photos and videos to see more of what my team accomplished this week.
This tree was once one of the biggest trees in the forest, unitl it fell a couple weeks ago. The tree made quit a ruckus, locals thought it was a train wreck.
Just a few photos from the week, serving at Cuneo Creek Horse Camp for the California State Park Service North Coast Redwood District.
