I'm not really good at describing or reccing art (ironic since I wrote a very long joe x nicky fic about art history) but I really love @polarcell's art.

Anyway as you peruse you'll probably see that a lot of people poured a lot of love, time and research into fanworks in this fandom and many see it as a place to discuss history, art, religion, race and interracial relationships, and really everything, which is the joy of fanworks.

I hope you find some cool stuff and create some more cool stuff and have an all around great time.

while you're looking, you'll probably find posts from debates that happened circa four years ago about topics like race and religion. they will not all be good posts (I am explicitly including my own in that, I know I got pretty salty sometimes). Some of it is the cyclical stuff that courses through every fandom with a big m/m pairing, some of it is unique to TOG because there is a canon interracial queer couple.

as someone who was around for the first movie and still loves the fandom, here's my hope for new members of the fandom: I hope you feel free to ask questions and post your own takes. I hope when someone else creates something you love, you interact with it and find friends. I hope when you do spot something you disagree with, you feel free to block the creator and move on. Sadly, I also hope you don't get nasty anon messages or threats. I hope your personal information remains personal and isn't posted online against your will. and if you see any of that stuff floating around tumblr or in the comment sections on ao3, I hope you leave it there and don't revive it.
