There’s a Hawaii animal shelter that lets tourists adopt dogs for a day. Visitors to the Kauai Humane Society can ‘check out’ dogs wearing vests that say “Adopt Me” to give them exercise and social interaction and gain the interests of passersby.

About 4 times a month, the tourists themselves go home with a new dog.
