Invincible x Transformers
so I had this idea over on Twitter, but I'll expand on it here. If you haven't seen the new clips of Invincible, SPOILERS im putting the video clip here to ppl can get a better idea.
So it all steams from this clip, Thaedus pleayed by Petter Cullen (aka Optimus prime) and Argall played by Frank Welker (Megatron). Besides having amaizng casting choice for this, it made me think of an AU idea. One with a darker tone.
So context, this is NOT a 1 to 1 reflection of Invincible to TF, more so basing it around an idea of this clips and future things that happened with Mark /Nolan. Not is it a cross over.
Megatron won a war a VERY long time ago. Orion (nkt yet Optimus) was apart of the Decpeticon ranks during the war. The senate was cruel and oppressive only for Megatron to replace the Senate and it's cruelty with himself..
Years of exploration with the sole purpose of spreading Decpeticon rule to other planets, mainly organic who were to weak to stop them, start to wear in Orion. He was a feared warrior , but every time he was sent out, he came back a little different. He spoke a little softer, he spoke more highly of the species they were controlling, he spoke of compromises and mercy.
A warrior was becoming a soft diplomatic weakling in Megatron eyes over time...He suspected somthing was awry with Orion. His once trusted soilder.
Orion long battled the thoughts "yes this is the way" but now Megatron wants to reduce anyone who not allign with con values / is weak purging the galaxy of any resistance and Orion is lost on what to do.
Orion seeks counsel in the ruins of Primus. Once a place of peace and prayer , now destroyed because no one was thought to be higher than Megatron now and his word is now gospel. Once the hosting unit of the well of sparks where new sparks would be born. Now an empty shell much like how he felt.
It is here among his desperate pleads to a God he felt was no longer even with them. Thinking what the Primes would have done, if this had been lead to stand if they were still here. Would they agree with Megatron? Wouldn't a Cybertronians might and superiority give them the right ? The now broken faces of each Prime statue loom over him and his contemplating...
One completely shattered and ripped out, he loomed over it. Megatronus Prime, the betrayer...Of so the archives the was able to save said. His cruelty, his evil nature, the primes did all they could to defeat him and they did. At the cost of their lives for the hope of a better future.
In that moment Orion knows in his spark. This is wrong, Megatron must be stopped and Cybertron must not be allowed to continue their onslaught of terror any longer.
Then Primus hears him, sees him and chooses him. The matrix reveals its self, now granting him the choice. He takes it.
Optimus Prime is born and Megatron now must DIE. He must betray his once friend now cruel enemy.
I deadass may just take my idea and fully write it because I have a VISION.
Some of you may be wondering who is who ? Again it's not a 1 to 1 so don't see it as that exactly. And if I write this they may never be even mentioned so this is JUST FOR FUN.
The Autobots at the point do not even exist atm and its purely Decepticons (atm of writing this so kepe this in mind)

Omni man/ Nolan - Ultra Magnus
not only do I just headcanon his VA to just play UM but I feel it fits his personality alot. "But he's not red and white -" SHHHHHHH. Shush it.
Invincible/Mark - Hot Rod / Rodimus
I think its for obvious reasons, but considering things that happen in the comics (invincible) I think HR is a good choice granted he is young, inexperienced, and is in WAY over his head in alot. Conflicted on alot of what to do and where to go.
I tossed around maybe its Soundwave which could still fit , I even did toss around the idea of Starscream. Yes Starscream because I think the idea of making him extemely loyal, under Megatron's wing for counsel would be an extremely interesting take vs the usual "rah Megatron has fallen" and is instead a viciously loyal to his world to an a clear fault and thinks he can bring back the glory days Megatron had. But its delusional.
But the other i think "safe choice" is Tarn, for other obvious reasons. He's clearly loyal, and well delusional enough to continue Megatron's work so much he keeps his helmet (much like Thragg with Argall's skull) plus I can also just see Lee Pace's more eloquent spoken voice be fitting for Tarn as well.
Now this can be used for alot of bots i feel , I even considered Overlord , and I still kinda do - but the reason I think Bludgeon is because this a bot built on war.
We don't see alot of him, he looks a bit unconventional, he has a skull for a face let's start there. Plus it fits the line "I don't get a name just a purpose". To Bludgeon, to beat, to kill, to bash beyond recognition. Thats all he is, is a tool..
Also the layer of depth the show gives to Conquest showing that for Bludgeon that not all of Megatron's warriors have been content with their lives but its all they can do, and know how to do
