If you actually cared about sex workers you would be against Pornhub who actively steals from sex workers and porn stars and profits off their work without compensating them. ngl it really bothers me that the companions that the fo4 fandom seems to universally hate are the black men. like, even piper and Cait who get a lot of hate for varying reasons don't get NEARLY as much as X6-88 and Preston Garvey. it feels Bad and honestly kinda gross.

This has been the state of fandom ever since FO4 came out and I’ve been here for two years and it’s still the state of fandom. It won’t ever change. I’ve argued with people, I’ve made countless of posts, I’ve made positivity posts, other people have made much better and more nuanced posts, especially Black fans and yet it never changed anything.

Honestly I learned a lot in two years, from myself and others, and that’s that you can’t change people’s minds. Yes you can be mad, you can be rightfully mad, it might be unjust, unfair and distasteful, but people in fandom will do as they please. I am friends with a lot of people who like chars I don’t, and dislike characters I do. So to force people to like Preston and X6 is also kinda bad. If they don’t they don’t. What you can do is call out those who are unnecessarily racist about it, coming onto posts with their stupid opinions and block, unfollow or simply not support people who don’t like Preston. 

And most importantly I learned that if you want things to change you gotta start somewhere so instead of yelling endlessly how people mistreat Preston and X6, I decided to make positivity posts for them - and believe me, the results are better because a lot of people who didn’t care about them before, realized these are excellent and amazing characters and have come to me to confess that my content helped them see that. You can’t force people to care, but you can make them care.
