Wikipedia is a forum that anyone can edit, and therefore isn’t a reputable source. Merriam Webster is a curated website and dictionary that is updated regularly by scholarly sources. Citing an author doesn’t put the blame on them if they’re bad, it but the blame on you for not checking if they were valid.

Actually, no it doesn’t. A sheep can figure out how to open a gate, but that does not mean it knows why the gate was there in the first place, or the implications of it opening the gate. Sapience implies a level of knowledge and wisdom someone has after being very well-versed in a certain field of study or topic, but Sentience implies the ability to live, feel, and breath.
