hey @actuallynpd tag
do any of y'all feel remorse for being narcissistic? do y'all get distressed by your tendency to see people as means to your own ends instead of actual people? Are you upset by your narcissism or what?
1. Depends. Do I feel remorse in my own vanity/pridefulness/or whatever delusions of grandeur Iām having at the minute? Not really. Do I feel remorse when it ends up hurting other people? Sometimes, although I wonāt actually admit it because of the fear that having remorse means Iām not ~really~ narcissistic.Ā
2.Ā āSeeing people as means to my own endsā means manipulating people, right? Or if Iām wrong, correct me. That isnāt really something I really do. Iāve had thoughts about it, but theyāre mainly just thoughts, because I know Iād get repercussions for using people.Ā
3. Most of the time, no. When I feel like Iām not as good as I think I am, or if Iām not meeting the impossibly high standards I have for myself, or if I feel like people view me as pathetic or as a paper tiger, then yeah.... itās not as fun.
Iām not sure if this is also a side effect of tumblr culture, but yeah the npd tags are pretty unsympathetic, sometimes towards other narcissists. Itās probably because of well... they donāt think non-narcissists or people with empathy will see them. So whileĀ ātfw someone doesnāt worship the ground you walk onā probably wonāt reside with non-narcissists, other narcs will probably just goĀ āyup sameā.Ā
Although if the point of this wasĀ āyouāre bad and you should feel badā, unfortunately, not a lot of people who reside in the tags are probably going to... care. Theyāre probably heard it before. Not even just because theyāre narcissistic, but just because itās some random person in the tags saying it. I think, for the most part, that most narcissists only care about their own opinions and a few select people on how they view themselves.Ā
