At the insistence of her father, Eevee visits Veronica – a daughter of his colleague that he’s sure would be a better fit in her new life. It started off awkward at first and she tries to make conversation, but it seems like everything routed back to her love life. She doesn’t have much to say given the fact that she doesn’t even remember if she had one or not and thinking about it just makes her all the more guilty for forgetting. Veronica talks about her boyfriend and, honestly, Eevee tries to listen but there’s a man out the window and before she knows it, he’s lit a plant on fire. Her gasp interrupts the story, and she can only smile apologetically before turning back to see him walking away. She’s not quite sure she’s close enough with the woman yet to let her know that hey, your decor outside is in ashes and so she keeps her mouth shut, nodding and humming at the right moments. It isn’t long before Veronica excuses herself to take a phone call and Eevee would bet her trust fund that she’s going to take a while even though she’s promised a quick minute. She waits and takes a look around, understanding why her father would want her to be like this woman. It seems like she has a good thing going – save for that burnt plant in front. She’s about to bid her goodbye because she has a feeling that the phone call would turn into a booty call at one point when there’s a knock in front. Eevee waits for the actual home owner to answer but since it seems like she won’t be doing that any time soon, she goes and gets it for her. Struck with the bluest eyes she’s ever seen, she can only stand as she listens to the arsonist ramble on about plants. “The plant combusted into flames,” she deadpans though there’s a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “You bought plants to replace the one that magically caught on fire.” She ignores the tone of his voice, chalks it off to panic at probably getting caught, and so she decides to take mercy on him and not bring up the fact that she’s essentially the sole witness to his crime. At his invitation to go and inspect the other plants in question, she barely manages her hide the amused snort. “You’re asking me to go to your car with you and check out some plants. This sounds like a Dateline episode waiting to happen,” she chuckles. “Do you usually ask strangers to hop in your car with promises of greenery or am I just special?” The teasing comes naturally and Eevee should probably get going since it’s not her house after all, but the situation keeps her entertained nonetheless. “Well considering how I don’t even know you and I don’t even live here, it’s safe to say you’re good to go with your plant hoarding.”

the  last  thing  the  male  is  expecting  is  to  see  eevee  open  the  door . admittedly , when  he  see’s  it’s  her , cam  feels  himself  relax  a  considerable  amount . he  knew  she  wouldn’t  hold  it  against  him  or  do  anything  to  try  and  get  him  in  trouble  or  sabotage  him . they  would  just  laugh  about  the  dead  plant , and  maybe  she  would  come  up  with  something  totally  ridiculous  like  having  a  funeral  for  the  fucking  thing , but  he  wouldn’t  put  it  past  her  and  go  along  with  every  stupid  thing  that  comes  out  of  her  mouth , and , they  would  honestly  probably  have  the  best  time  too . get  high  as  fuck  and  talk  about  some  bullshit , with  some  flirting  here  and  there , and  cam  pretends  like  he  doesn’t  low  key  like  her . the  moment  she  starts  talking , he  can’t  help  the  smirk  that  makes  its  way  onto  his  lips . he  hasn’t  seen  her  in  a  hot  minute  but  her  teasing  is  as  impeccable  as  it’s  ever  been , not  that  he’s  surprised  or  anything . “ well , if  i  would’ve  known  this  was  your  plant  i  burnt  to  fuckin’  crisps , i  would’ve  just  bought  some  fuckin’  drugs  to  make  up  for  it . i  swear  carmichael , it’s  like  you  always  have  some  stupid  tv  show  reference  for  dead  ass  everything .... it’s  actually  pretty  fuckin’  hilarious  but  iconic . ” he  teases  right  back , wanting  to  hug  her  because  he  hasn’t  seen  her  in  a  while  and  he  missed  her , but  also  not  wanting  to  appear  soft . everything  is  going  fine , or  so  he  thinks , but  the  moment  she  says  the  word  ‘ strangers ’ , cam  gives  her  a  look , raising  a  dark  eyebrow . she  usually  never  teases  him  like  this , pretending  she  doesn’t  know  him , so  he’s  a  bit  taken  back  by  her  choice  of  words , but  he’s  guessing  she  wants  to  fuck  with  him  after  he  ghosted  for  so  long , and  honestly ? she’s  doing  a  pretty  good  job  so  far . her  next  set  of  words  make  him  laugh  out  loud , shaking  his  head , because  it  was  too  much , even  for  him . “ is  someone  filming  you  or  some  shit ? you  know , you  always  tease  the  fuck  out  of  me , but  this ? come  on  now . ” this  time , he  nudges  her  playfully , as  if  telling  her  to  knock  it  off . “ you  don’t  have  to  pretend  you  don’t  know  me . like , i  know , i  know , we  haven’t  seen  each  other  in  a  fuckin’  while , or ..... oh  wait , no , i  get  it ! you’re  pretending  you  don’t  know  me  for  your  rich  bitch  friend , the  one  who  lives  here , so  she  or  he  won’t  think  you  know  the  dick  who  murdered  their  ugly  ass  fuckin’  plant ! ” she  looks  so  serious , he  has  to  hand  it  to  her . he  crosses  his  arms  and  chuckles . “ come  on , they’re  not  looking  or  anything , you  don’t  have  to  pretend  right  now . ” because  he  was  convinced  that  was  exactly  what  she  was  doing .

     ellie was having a particularly rough morning with charlie. he’d been fussy since he woke up and cried whenever he was away from her, which in turn had made her late for a photoshoot she had scheduled that morning because she had to bring him instead of dropping him off with her mom. the girl had noticed that there was a burnt plant sitting in her front yard but she decided to deal with that later. she was starving and her back was killing her – she’d had to have charlie on the baby carrier the whole time she was shooting to keep him from crying – and all she wanted to do was sit in her couch and eat a damn sandwich. she laid down the infant for a nap and made herself a sandwich, sitting on her couch and eating, taking her shoes off. the girl was halfway done with her sandwich when there was a knock on the door and chaos erupted again. biscuit started barking, which startled and woke up charlie, who promptly started crying. ellie cursed under her breath and picked up the child, soothingly rubbing his back and bouncing him, trying to get him to calm down. when she swung the door open, she saw none other than cam. “what are you doing here ?” she asked, brows knitted together. then he told her about the plant, which suddenly made a lot of sense. “oh, you burnt my plant down.” she said, chuckling and shaking her head. “the reason you didn’t find that plant is because it wasn’t a real plant. it was plastic.” the girl explained, figuring he’d been getting high when he set her plant on fire. the baby was still crying but he was calming down, and then she noticed the dog had stopped barking and wasn’t jumping at cam. she turned to look back into her home and confirmed her suspicions – biscuit was eating her sandwich and the sight almost made her cry. “you want me to go look at plants in your car ? that makes you sound like a kidnapper.” the young woman said. “show me anyway, though. you owe me a plan.”

he  was  expecting  many  things  when  the  front  door  opened . his  number  one  prediction  was  an  old  lady  who  would  bitch  at  him  about  murdering  her  plant , maybe  a  teenager  who  genuinely  didn’t  care  about  the  plant , or  even  a  middle  aged  man  who  would  tell  him  to  fuck  off , which  he  gladly  would , of  course . what  he  wasn’t  expecting  was  to  see  ellie , carrying  her  newborn  baby . cam  knows  he  gets  high  more  than  he  should , but  he’s  positive  this  was  not  ellie’s  house  when  they  were  together . her  old  house  wasn’t  as  extravagant  and  definitely  wasn’t  on  this  side  of  town . the  only  explanation  he  had  was  that  this  was  a  house  she  had  bought  with  whoever  the  child  of  her  kid  was . either  way , he  didn’t  really  care  and  he  didn’t  want  to  find  out . he  keeps  the  same  expression  on  his  face , but  doesn’t  answer  her  question , letting  her  come  to  the  conclusion  on  her  own , which  she  thankfully  does . he’s  simply  nodding  his  head , now  pretty  desperate  to  drop  off  all  the  plants  and  just  leave . he  can’t  be  here  with  her , especially  as  she  carries  a  fucking  baby . cam  isn’t  ready  for  this  and  frankly  wishes  he  would  have  just  done  what  he  usually  does  and  just  flee  the  scene . he  would  have  avoided  this  confrontation  and  saved  a  fuck  ton  of  money  on  stupid  plants  as  well . he  mentally  curses  at  himself  for  actually  giving  a  shit  for  once , because  look  at  the  situation  he’s  in  now . the  explanation  of  her  plant  being  made  of  plastic  just  makes  him  feel  even  more  ridiculous , if  that’s  even  possible . it  wasn’t  even  a  real  plant  and  he  really  went  through  all  that ? wow . “ it’s  fine , you  can  just  keep  literally  every  fuckin’  plant  i  bought . ” he  says , opening  the  hood  of  the  car  and  pulling  out  the  plants , some  bigger  than  others . he  does  all  this  while  avoiding  eye  contact , honestly  feeling  like  the  clown  of  the  century  right  now . after  the  party , he  had  let  her  clean  him  up , like  old  times  sake . he  kept  the  conversation  as  short  as  possible  and  left  as  soon  as  she  was  finished , without  saying  much . he  wanted  this  to  go  down  the  same  way  as  well , because  the  last  thing  he  wants  is  small  talk , or  any  type  of  talking  with  her . he  places  the  last  plant  from  the  inside  of  his  car  onto  her  yard , slamming  the  trunk  shut . “ that’s  the  last  one ..... anyways , i’m  gonna  go  now . ”

ronnie was really enjoying new york, but something she missed about california was the beaches. she’d decided to take a stroll down the beach in the hope of somehow dulling that feeling of homesickness. it had been a rather disappointing and uneventful stroll, until that is, a dark haired boy went sprinted down the beach. ronnie stopped where she was, watching from a distance as he began stripping down and changing right there on the beach. odd, she thought, but then again, this was new york and she was discovering that a lot of strange shit happened all around you on a daily basis. she was content to continue on her way when he started burning shit, including a rather gruesome looking… chucky mask? the fuck? now ronnie was definitely intrigued, and probably against her better judgement, decided to approach the stranger. she chuckled when she heard him speak, standing back a little ways but close enough that she could respond without needing to shout. “really? cause from where i was standing it looked like you were making yourself a cozy little bonfire.”

he  knew  he  looked  like  a  total  trip  right  now , a  straight  up  crackhead  standing  in  front  of  a  bonfire  at  such  ungodly  hours . cam  would  try  playing  it  off , but  she’s  seen  too  much  already . he  couldn’t  really  tell  her  why  he  did  what  he  did , he  just  hoped  he  could  convince  her  to  keep  what  she  saw  to  herself . besides , she  was  young , she  would  understand .... right ? that’s  what  he  hoped . he  chuckles  softly , blowing  out  smoke . it  was  already  starting  to  get  a  bit  colder , he  could  see  his  breath  in  the  air . “ it  is  getting  way  fuckin’  colder , not  too  bad  of  an  idea . ” in  all  honesty , he  didn’t  really  think  it  was  that  cold , or  even  cold  at  all . new  york  winters  weren’t  much  for  him , because  it  definitely  got  way  colder  where  he  was  from , but  she  didn’t  need  to  know  that . cam  takes  another  drag  from  his  joint , letting  the  smoke  out  through  his  nose  this  time . “ are  you  just  walking  on  the  beach  by  yourself ? ” he  asks , actually  curious . he  didn’t  know  why  she  was  out  here  alone  at  such  a  late  time . maybe  she  was  doing  some  illegal  shit  like  him  too , or  maybe .... she  was  a  normal  person  and  had  a  logical  reason  for  being  here  at  this  time . cam  had  to  remind  himself  not  everyone  had  his  antics .

he  was  strolling  around  kingsboro , minding  his  own  business  entirely , smoking  a  joint  as  a  gondola  ride  in  paris  by  the  messenger  blasted  through  his  air  pods . as  he  takes  another  hit , he  notices  his  joint , which  is  basically  a  pretty  small  roach  right  now , is  off . he  sighs , grabs  the  lighter  he  has  hanging  on  his  neck  as  a  necklace  and  attempts  to  light  it  again , but  he’s  a  moron  and  ends  up  lighting  his  finger  by  accident , causing  him  to  wince  in  pain  and  drop  the  roach . it  happens  so  quickly  and  it  really  looks  like  something  out  of  a  movie . as  soon  as  the  roach  touches  the  plant  on  some  random  yard , the  entire  plant  lights  on  fire . cam  stands  there , stunned  as  the  plant  bursts  into  flames .... all  because  of  his  roach . “ are  you  fuckin’  serious ? ” he  let’s  out , staring  at  the  whole  thing  in  bewilderment . he  pulls  out  his  water  bottle  from  his  backpack  and  pours  it  on  the  plant , which  stops  the  fire , but  the  plant  is  destroyed . he  checks  the  window  from  the  house  to  see  if  anyone  is  looking , and  luckily , no  one  is  there , but  unlike  other  days , cam  actually  feels  bad  about  what  he  did . he  doesn’t  know  who  owns  this  house , but  he  wasn’t  trying  to  sabotage  their  yard  on  purpose . it’s  something  he  would  never  do , and  he’s  not  sure  why  he  does  it  instead  of  running , but  he  gets  into  his  grandfather’s  car  and  visits  seven  different  plant  stores . none  of  them  have  the  exact  plant  he  burned , but  he  buys  one  of  every  other  kind . he  comes  back , his  car  filled  with  plants , before  he  lets  out  a  sigh  and  knocks  on  the  door , not  knowing  why  the  fuck  he’s  even  doing  this . when  it  swings  open , he  smiles  awkwardly . “ hey , super  funny  story ! so  like , your  plant  just .... combusted  into  flames , ” cam  lies , nodding  his  head  before  the  truth  comes  out , “ okay , so  i  accidentally  set  that  bitch  on  fire , but  i  swear , it  was  an  accident ! i  went  to  like  seven  different  plant  stores , but  none  of  them  have  your  stupid  fuckin’  plant , ” after  you  burned  down  their  plant , cam , really ? jesus . he  notices  that  came  out  harsher  than  intended , but  that’s  just  how  he  is . “ i  really  tried  to  find  it , but  that  shit’s  gone  as  fuck . i  bought  every  other  plant  they  had  in  all  seven  stores  though , if  that  helps . i  swear , i  didn’t  do  it  on  purpose . ” why  did  he  care  so  much ? it  was  just  a  plant , after  all . “ all  the  plants  are  in  my  car .... you  wanna  come  see ? ”

Okay so it’s Friday night and you’re on a totally not date hang out with a guy you definitely don’t have a crush on, so what do you bring? In Eevee’s backpack — and oh God this guy has her bringing around a fucking backpack like it’s 2016 and Tumblr girls are going around with their Jansports and converse — she has spray paint and her trusty pipe already packed and shared between the two. They’re at a beach because New York apparently has private resorts and Eevee swears it’s like Cam is either fucking with her like a dick or he really can’t see how she actually likes him and she should stop looking into it so much. It feels like every YA book, every coming of age film but Eevee’s on her back — and not in the way she’d prefer — looking up at the stars and resists the urge to start pointing out constellations because she can only take so much of the cliche. Kicking the bag towards the man, she hears the contents inside clink against each other. “My tag name is pablo vanilla,” she says with no preamble, mouth just moving like he’ll have any idea what goes on in that head of hers. “There’s a pier over there and I kind of want to paint it bright green. Could you imagine? You’ll be able to see that fucker from Mars or something.” Eevee hasn’t felt this relaxed in a while and it may be the company or it may be the weed, but she loses herself in the feeling. Honestly it’s a chill vibe kind of night and she doesn’t usually get those, so she’s taking as much advantage as she can. “Oh shit, get my mind off of space because once I start talking about the merits of ET and his phone finger, it’s all over for you.”

friday  nights  are  always  eventful  for  him , to  say  the  least , but  he  knows  it’ll  be  a  night  to  remember  for  sure , because  this  time ? he’s  not  alone . eevee  and  cam  going  out  together  is  definitely  a  force  to  be  reckoned  with , and  he  can  already  sense  they  might  get  into  trouble , but  the  adrenaline  further  encourages  him , like  the  reckless  motherfucker  he  is . he  knows  there’s  something  between  them , and  he  likes  her  too , sure , but  he  knows  how  different  their  backgrounds  are . he  knows  she  was  born  into  a  rich  family  while  he  was  born  into  barely  anything , and  yeah , he  knows  she’s  been  through  some  shit , but  he’s  sure  that  if  anything  does  happen , her  dad  could  probably  hate  him  at  first  glance . as  much  as  he’d  like  to , he’s  not  good  enough  for  her . he’s  bad  news  and  he  knows  it . he  literally  drove  her  here  on  a  fucking  motorcycle , like , that  should  say  everything  needed  to  know . cam  likes  how  spontaneous  she  is , how  she  mumbles  random  shit  that  literally  means  nothing  sometimes . she  makes  him  forget  to  be  cynical . he  nods  his  head  at  her  words , forcing  himself  not  to  laugh . “ mines  would  be .... ” he  trails  off  for  a  second , nodding  his  head  before  it  comes  to  him , “ crying  lightning . ” where  did  that  even  come  from ? he  can’t  remember , but  he’s  heard  it  once  and  it  sounded  bad  ass . the  more  he  thought  about  it  though , it  was  all  ridiculous . he  knows  exactly  what  pier  she’s  talking  about , because  he’s  been  there  a  couple  of  times . “ bright  green , but  also  blue . matches  the  ocean , and  you  know  there’s  a  fuckin’  cave  around  there ? i  once  did  the  purest  mdma  inside  that  shit . we  can  go  in  there , smoke  a  joint , and  watch  the  waves  crash ... and  yeah , that  was  fuckin’  cliche , but  the  waves  are  awesome . ” that  night  was  a  whole  fucking  trip , but  he  vividly  remembers  it . it  was  memorable , for  sure . he  could  make  more  memories  inside  that  cave , with  her  now , after  they  fuck  shit  up . now  he’s  rolling  his  eyes , letting  out  a  chuckle  and  shaking  his  head . “ shut  the  fuck  up . anyone  who  hasn’t  seen  et  would  take  one  look  at  that  motherfucker  and  have  nightmares .” he’s  teasing , but  it  is  kind  of  true . finally , they’re  here . he  sets  his  bag  down  and  smirks . “ we  made  it .... pablo  vanilla . ”

it’s  basically  pitch  black  outside , minus  the  streetlights , but  even  those  things  do  nothing  to  help  him . worst  part ? he’s  running  fast  as  hell  with  a  fucking  chucky  mask  on . cam  really  wishes  there  was  a  logical  explanation  on  why  he’s  doing  this , and  in  his  psychotic  mind , there  definitely  is . he  was  picking  up  a  stash  of  just  about  everything  from  the  guy  he  always  gets  his  drugs  from . of  course  mostly  just  weed , but  still . there  was  other  people  in  there  who  looked  like  they  were  doing  the  same , and  just  when  he  was  about  to  get  what  he  needed , they’re  all  interrupted  by  loud  police  sirens  and  the  over  the  top  pounding  on  the  door . of  course , everyone  began  to  flee  as  fast  as  they  could , and  in  the  commotion  of  it  all , cam  managed  to  grab  a  lot  of  narcotics .... for  free . over  an  ounce  of  weed , an  actual  brick  of  coke , a  shit  ton  of  molly , oxy , and , even  some  hallucinogens . he  stuffed  it  all  into  his  backpack , ran  to  the  bathroom  upstairs , and  without  thinking  it  twice , stole  one  of  the  handful  of  masks  his  dealer  had  ( obviously  from  stealing  and  heists ) , put  it  on , and  jumped  right  out  the  window , running  as  fast  as  his  legs  could  take  him  with  a  handful  of  stolen  drugs  inside  his  backpack . the  police  had  spotted  him  and  began  chasing  him , and  cam  swears  he’s  fucked  for  a  moment ,  but  he  soon  finds  a  seven  foot  fence  near  the  beach  and  they’re  in  cars . he  knows  he  ran  a  lot  because  he  literally  reaches  the  beach , feet  in  the  sand  and  all . cam  turns  around  and  notices  they  stopped  chasing  him . he’s  panting  roughly , instantly  removing  the  creepy  mask . he  then  takes  off  his  shirt  and  throws  it  alongside  the  mask . without  a  second  thought , he  splatters  some  gasoline  he  had  inside  his  bag , lights  a  match  and  throws  it , instantly  burning  what  he  was  wearing  so  he  won’t  be  recognizable . he  also  changes  his  shoes  and  puts  on  a  new  shirt . after  that , he  checks  his  phone  and  notices  it’s  almost  midnight . he  groans  softly  as  he  sits  on  the  sand , knowing  for  a  fact  he  probably  fractured  something  when  jumping  out  that  two  story  window . he  sighs  and  grabs  a  joint  he  had  rolled  up  in  the  front  pocket  of  his  backpack , lighting  it  and  staring  at  the  fire , along  with  the  waves . he  hears  footsteps  approach  and  he’s  prepared  to  run , but  when  he  turns  around , he  see’s  it’s  a  girl  who  does  not  look  like  a  cop . still , he’s  suspicious , but  acts  natural . “ damn .... some  fuckin’  jerk  started  a  fire . ” he  claimed , shaking  his  head  even  though  he  started  it . “ new  york , right ? ” he  questions , taking  another  drag , honestly  prepared  to  book  it  if  she  saw  anything .
