Call to Artists | Pop Up Shop 2015 Deadline: September 15
Nanaimo Art Gallery invites artists and artisans working in all mediums to enter our Annual Pop Up Shop, a juried show and sale of original, handmade items. We will involve a wide range of quality work, including: textiles, clay, glass, wood, jewellery, paintings, folk art, photographs, note and gift cards, and more.
Our Annual Pop Up Shop takes place in the hub of Nanaimo's Art's District at Nanaimo Art Gallery's new art education space, Art Lab, next to the gallery on Commercial Street.
As a participant of Nanaimo's Artwalk, the Pop Up Shop will be a high traffic event with an estimated 300 – 400 people expected to attend. Artwalk is just in time for holiday shopping and is a creative, fun and inspiring environment for the whole family.
To submit please email 2 to 4 images of your work with a brief description, price point, and dimensions. Include your full name and contact information with address and phone number. Selections will be made on the basis of interpretation, originality, technique and refinement. There are a limited number of spaces available. Deadline for entry is September 15, 2015 Only submissions by email will be accepted.
The Pop Up Shop will be organized according to a 70/30 split with the artists taking 70%.While artists are not required to be present with their work during the Pop-Up Shop, they are most welcome to be on site to meet the public.
Pop Up Shop Program: Opening Friday, December 4, 2015 at 5 pm until 4 pm on Sunday December 6 Hours: Friday, 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm Saturday, 11:00 am until 5:00 pm Sunday 11:00 am until 4:00 pm

Regional Assembly of Text was founded by partners Brandy Fedoruk and Rebecca Ann Dolen and is based in Vancouver, BC.  While attending Emily Carr University of Art and Design, they collaborated on a number of projects and curated a series of book shows together.  Brandy and Rebecca graduated in 2003 and opened their first store in Vancouver in 2005. Their love of books has inspired their texted based theme.  We are delighted to have the opportunity to carry their line of products in our Gallery Store.
“BETWEEN THE COLOURS”      AN ART EXHIBITION
ES BEVIS, MARGARET BONNEAEN MONGEAU, and BARBARA ANN SCOTT converge in one exhibition to showcase the dialogue that happens between the artist, realism and abstraction - the artists meet in a visual conversation at the crossroad of five individual artistic paths.
 The Exhibition, will be held at the ART LAB, 150  Commercial St. Nanaimo (adjacent to the Nanaimo Art Gallery).  The Show runs from June 16-27, 10 am – 5 pm. Opening June 19th, 5 pm - 7 pm.  Sunday Noon-5 p.m. (Gallery closed Mondays).
