”Ah—” Leaning around Nancy a moment, she raised an eyebrow and pursed her lips. “No, not one of mine. At least not that I’m aware of, it’s not like I keep track.” Shrugging, she smiled brightly and leaned back, offering her a hand. “Evony. I’m the Morrigan, if you don’t know what that is, we’re really going to have to work on catching you up.”
Great. A woman who's uptight and entitled. Just what she needed to deal with now. Wait-- Did she say 'not one of hers?' "Excuse me, does this mean you've had experience with this sort of act before?" Though, there was no proof of anything, she couldn't even arrest her. "And I have no idea nor have I any reason to care unless it has anything to do with me or this case, thank you--"
”Aw. That’s adorable, you have a badge so you think you can give orders.” Smirking quickly, she narrowed her eyes and quickly looked the other woman up and down. “You’re not one of mine, are you…”
"Excuse me, I'm not anyone's." Who was this woman? She wasn't human, she could sense that right away. Chasing away a few of her police partners, he glared at the other. "Who and what are you, and have you anything to do with this crime scene?"
"Ma'am, this is a private investigation. I ask that you leave the premises at once--"
“I heard you are searching for me. And I heard I could find you here” Daisy could smell the blood could smell how much alive this woman was. Much better than all she had in a while but she did control herself —for now.
"Excuse..."
Nancy lifted a brow, mouth gaping slightly. This was... oh no. "Are you Ms. Hannigan-Spiteri?" God-- What the hell. She wasn't ready to just have her show up! No, she wanted to find her and bring justice but it seemed they were at a face off. "And what reason have you to find me?"

Mountains upon mountains of paperwork. Will it ever end? Screw it-- Coffee break.
Not before bumping into a woman. At least she wasn't holding her coffee yet. "My word, excuse me." But then the senses kicked in. God not another one. "Can I help you, ma'am?"
Law. Punishment. It was almost strange to hear someone utter such words when talking about people like them. “…someone like him.” She mused, tapping her cigarette momentarily to rid herself of the tower of ash, “What is that exactly?”
"Vampires." She just sighed it out. It was still a ridiculous concept. The dead awoken in the form of immortal blood suckers. It was so fantastic it made the detective cringe. "Might as well not tip toe around it anymore."
Jane eyed the woman with a new found interest. “It looks that way.” Would that make them sisters in arms? Doubtful. She was hunting her brother after all. “Finger prints. You’ll need more than that.” Jane murmured, sounding more like a purr than anything else. “And what do you plan on doing with him if you find him? Will you try to lock him away? Or are you looking to serve a death penalty?”
"I don't think he deserves a death, after all the torment he's put people through. Besides, I'm a woman of law. We're not barbarous yanks, for life is punishment enough. And I have a feeling that would be the worst for someone like him." She wanted him to suffer now. It was a bit more personal than political.
"Oh, you can find all sorts of things on the internet these days," Walt nodded, his smile remained even as his voice lowered, taking on a slower, warning tone, "Crazy things, really. The sort of things you’d only hear about in stories, Detective Reid. Good thing we all know better to believe them, right? I mean, you wouldn’t believe the horrible things out there.”
He took a step forward now, meeting her gaze evenly, “I don’t believe I caught the name of your agency. You’re not American, after all. Working with the FBI? Maybe the CIA if you’re looking for an international criminal.” He had avoided giving her his name thus far and he had no intention of giving it out now.
"It's amazing, those stories everyone talks about. Makes you wonder what's real and what's not. People publish all sort of nonsense on there these days." Oh, but she did. She was apart of it. Honestly, what could he teach her what she already knew?
"FBI? CIA? I'm a detective. I just said so. Out of the United Kingdom. You... have detectives in every police department, Mr.--" She'd eventually make up a name for him if he didn't give her one. "I just want to know why you're so nervous to talk to me. I won't bite."
“History says they caught the man responsible for the Box Tunnel massacre.” Jane responded, though she like the blond woman knew better it would seem. Her brother certainly knew how to leave an impression. “Mr. William Herrick. That’s a little too civil for that animal, don’t you think?”
"I take you have history with him as well? That would make a few us, doesn't it?" She bit the inside of her cheek. But still, who was Jane? "As for the Box Tunnel, they covered it over, but it wasn't solved. I have proof Mr. Mitchell is responsible. Finger prints and all."
”A hundred and sixteen years, give or take.” Jane responded somewhat bluntly and without tact but the smile remained in place, not so much proud but content. Like she had nothing and then everything to hide. “How long have you been after Mitchell?”
Furrowing her brows, Nancy connected the numbers almost immediately. That long ago? Then she knew Mitchell before he was turned. And that made her wonder who this woman truly was. "Since the Box Tunnel massacre. It's been a few years, but... Circumstances have changed." Taking a huge leap at this next question, Nancy swallowed hard and nearly choked. "And... Perhaps you might know a Mr. William Herrick perchance?"
He shrugged once, “Saw something about it on the internet. Those sorts of things always end up on the internet.” It was true enough. Walt Jr. had a tendency to bring up all sorts of terrible, strange things at the dinner table that he had discovered on those blogs or whatever he read.
However, as the woman grew closer, Walt set his jaw, recognizing her clear suspicion. He gave a smile in return, leaning casually against the door frame and nodding, “And just who are you again? I mean, from what department? When you all catch him, I’ll make sure to report to your superiors what a great job you did calmly informing the public, Agent….?” Two could play that game.
"Right. The internet. Fascinating." Oh, didn't they all use it? And how American media always twisted the truth to their own agenda. Are they still bitter that their colors came from the Queen?
"Detective Reid. Barry, Wales. And you're enthusiasm is just but hardly necessary, Mr.--" Well, she deserved a name as well, didn't she? God, this man was irritating, but she noticed a change in heart rate. It was something. He knew John Mitchell and it irked her that she'd come this far to have some average old man shrug her off. If he knew Mitchell, didn't he then know about them?
“Oh yeah, me and Mitchell go way back.” Jane added and she knew she surely shouldn’t be enjoying herself so much all things considered. The death of twenty innocent people wasn’t anything to laugh about after all. Not was a manhunt for her brother. “But we don’t share any kind of relationship anymore. I’m sorry. But I don’t think I’ll be much help to you.”
"Mmm..." That wasn't exactly what the detective wanted to hear. Mostly because now that the case was closed, she'd do just about anything to get her hands on him and wrangle him back to the prisons where he belong. Revenge, mostly, but he didn't deserve to get away with so much murder. "And how far might I ask? He's after all born in 1893... So he claims." And she believes.
”My name is Jane.” She corrected as if the use of miss was the most important thing that had been said during their short conversation. She offered the woman a somewhat sympathetic smile afterwards however, a police officer or detective or even a private investigator, whatever she was she was leading a manhunt against one of vampires most notorious. “Seems like a complicated case.”
Well excuse her. "Indeed it is, Jane. As I've learned, you've met before. If I might ask what your relationship is to Mr. Mitchell?" She did imply she had met the man before? When? Where? And doing what? Maybe she didn't want to know the latter, but if revealed...
"A….a massacre?" Walt blinked, crossing his arms and pursing his lips together, "What is he? Some kind of lunatic, drug addict? I’ve heard, well, not really heard, more rumors than anything, but there’s all sorts of drugs in Europe that are making their way over here, right? That krokodil stuff? God, I hope it isn’t anything related to that…”
He would be having a talk with Mitchell later, a decidedly livid talk. However, he continued to feign his confusion for the woman, finally sighing with relief and giving a small smile. “Well, my brother-in-law works for the DEA if it’s anything with drugs and the police force here is absolutely stellar. I’m sure you’ll find him soon enough.”
"Drugs? Possibly, but he's um..." A vampire? Ha! She needed some credibility. "Mentally unstable. Not sure the cause, but I'm sure it's very tragic and blah blah blah." Huffing slightly, she narrowed her brows. "And how in blood hell do you know about krokodil? We have that under control."
Yanks.
"But if it's not drug related, then he is criminally insane and it'd be best if you give us any information you have regarding his whereabouts if you come across him." Walking closer to him, she took a deep inhale, then smiled a bit. "I wouldn't lie to us, sir. We have a way of always finding out..."
Jane lowered the cigarette from her lips when she was offered the scrap of paper, she recognized just who was drawn upon the surface instantly. Dear big brother, always getting into trouble. She wet her lips as she handed the copy back, “Not recently. Why?”
"Because, miss, he's wanted for murder. A lot of them, actually, and over extended periods of time, but we've only got proof for one event. Not that he was terribly selective, he did participate in the killing of 20 innocent people." Recently though-- She met him before?
