California State University Long Beach Graduate in Communication Studies, Culture and Public Affairs. Vegetarian, Humanitarian, and Social Media Junkie. Art is my passion, creativity is my blood. Currently striving to find my own personal legend. I'm working to make my passions my livelihood, and I know that I am passionate about food and travel (who isn't?!) Trotting the globe and seeing how differently people live their lives around the world has captured my curiosity and feeds my venturous heart and soul. I like to think I have lived multiple lives vicariously through the relationships and experiences I've gained with people around the world, and it's an addiction. It's amazing to witness cultures collide and beautiful to know that no matter how different our ways of life are, we are all human. I consider myself to be a very open minded individual who is all ears to many ways of life and thinking. I am an independent, cerebral woman with big dreams and a strong work ethic to match, yet I know how to let loose, enjoy the little things, and live life in the present.
Almost everything–all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure–these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

One of the reasons why we crave love, and seek it so desperately, is that love is the only cure for loneliness, and shame, and sorrow. But some feelings sink so deep into the heart that only loneliness can help you find them again. Some truths about yourself are so painful that only shame can help you live with them. And some things are just so sad that only your soul can do the crying for you.

I’m beginning to recognise that real happiness isn’t something large and looming on the horizon ahead but something small, numerous and already here. The smile of someone you love. A decent breakfast. The warm sunset. Your little everyday joys all lined up in a row.
Some people bring out the worst in you, others bring out the best, and then there are those remarkably rare, addictive ones who just bring out the most. Of everything. They make you feel so alive that you’d follow them straight into hell…

Instead of saying “I don’t have time” try saying “it’s not a priority,” and see how that feels. Often, that’s a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don’t want to. But other things are harder. Try it: “I’m not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it’s not a priority.” “I don’t go to the doctor because my health is not a priority.” If these phrases don’t sit well, that’s the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don’t like how we’re spending an hour, we can choose differently.
My philosophy is: It’s none of my business what people say of me, and think of me. I am what I am, and I do what I do. I expect nothing, and accept everything. And it makes life so much easier.
